Sbec
I was looking at ubecs and found this. its a sbec that is said to be the smallest in the world. is it a good option? or would a koolflight be better? i like that fact that its SUPER small. opinions?
It doesn't give an amp rating. IMO, get the Koolflight one, it has been proven to work.
It does metalman.. Only a mouseclick away (in the PDF) it only is 2.5A...I bought two of these thingies, (a few months back, price was 12.95)
Serum, I guess I didn't see the PDF (duh!). I ordered one of those UBEC things from XUS Hobby a week ago, since I have very bad radio interference with my home-made 3amp switching regulator. Jun from XUS Hobby said that they are out of stock of the UBECs, and said they would be in stock soon (the website didn't say this, and he charged my dad's credit card already). I also ordered a 4s 4400mah 8C pack for my Rustler, but those are out of stock too! (didn't say so on the website, and again charged my dad's credit card). I think I'll bump up to the 4s 5400mah 8C pack, even though it is way too long (I'll make it into 2 packs).

Pity.. i had the same experience with him too..
He charged my CC card for 2 servo's (manual) which were not in stock either. He apologized to me and said that he would not charge a CC card anymore, unless it was in stock. I got kind of upset with it, because it took him about 3 weeks before he managed to get my servo's, and he didn't kept his promise on emailing me when he sent them.. It was quite a loaded email i did sent him, and he didn't changed anything. If you want to know more, PM me. I can contact him about this, if you want to? |
I find myself very well with this...

The only problem with the ParkBEC is that it can only handle 1amp.
1 amp is not sufficent, fore one servo?
Not for a monster truck, or any high torque or digital servo. I've used a 1amp linear regulator with a high torque servo (BMS-620mg), and the regulator couldn't handle the servo even with the wheels off the ground.
Ok i understand, for the moment on mine 777 brushless it works well, we hope goes well also on savage(non digital the servo, but analogic 8kg)
sorry to jack your thread squee but i got a question, what kind of bec im i going to need running 2 jr z9000t digy servos and one standerd servo?
i know im not squee but a reciever pack should do
well i would go with the one serum linked or the koolflight.
is 3 amps going to be enuff though like metalman said his bms servo pulled more than 1 amp and that servo is half the power of 1 of mine :032:
3amps should be enough. Even though my servo might not be as powerful as yours, mine is probably faster.
the z9000t is a .15 sec 300+ oz servo . so the ubec will be enuff?

UBEC works perfect on my 5955tg servo (similar specs to your JR).

id ask rcbros he's got one :) i havent used mine in any thing but my little rs4 mt, and the servo just :005: at it :027: |

The koolflight has a 5amp peak rating.
if its not enuff can i rig up 2 maby to get the same voltage but twise the amps like wiring a battery in parallel :032:
The Koolfight should be enough. Even the 2.5amp S-BEC should work, but for the money it costs just go with the Kooflight ;).
cool tnx guys :018:
