How much have you spent on hobbycity?
I just went to my order status secton of hobbycity as I just made an order. It showed all my past orders. I added it all up and I've spent $452.28 there. wow.:gasp::surprised::eyes:
A few grand in batteries for Ebikes, some for customers.
~$557 since last September when I first heard about that site.
Not me.
I haven't spent any mony at hobby city YET, but I do have a running total with Tower hobby that is now over $10K, and that is since 2005 when I first got into R/C. I have also spent plenty of mulla$$$ on other sites as well like RCM, UE, AMain, Maxamps. All in all I believe that I have over $15K invested and I am only just getting started from my point of view. I have had to take it a little bit easy this year since regaining custody of my three kids. Money is not flowing quite as fast as I would like, but things are looking up now that I am back to work. Life is good.
I have made 12 orders to HC and spent on average 110 bucks per order.
None....yet:whistle::whistle::whistle:
Was just about to put in an order - didn't realize they're overseas. Shipping is a bit pricey if you want your stuff in the near future.
I'm going to order a few Lipos from them in the next few weeks. 2 for my CRT.5 and 2 for my buggy project.
Wow.. it all adds up... $6667 Holy Cr*P!!!.. but all that is from October 2006 to Current..

about $500 in the last 12 months at hobby city
about 6k on rc in the last 12 months maybe alittle more |
I'm at a little under $700.00 personally.
The LHS I work for, we have spent almost $3,100. All within 6 months. |
$100..thats rounding up too.....
....
You have long ways to go young grasshopper :P I'm waiting for some more cash to put in some more orders for the Turnigy's. Took some charge, took forever to discharge, took about 8 hours, and I just stopped it. Was discharging at .7A (BC6 can only handle 1A, and it won't do 1A all the time) so I just stopped it just shy of 8.8 hours. Only took out 2368mAh during the discharge process.. Didn't even bother with the other one. Can't wait until I get to run these! |
I'm almost at $150...
All LiPos?
I need to order some more shenanigans from DealExtreme and HobbyCity |
Nope $97 of it was a Assan 2.4ghz module with 2 receivers for my AE XP3D Radio. It should be here in a few days!!! Li-Po is super cheap for my RC18T ;)
Haha, I'd bet!
Hmm, that Assan stuff... |
From the review it's is great. And the fact that extra RX's are only $25 make it much better than a Spectrum system IMO. I'll be doing a review when I get everything and when my RC18T is running again. I'll even have my contacts so I'll be able to drive even further than before. It's hard to see my tiny RC18T with 20/50 vision and horrible depth perception... LOL
I have TERRIBLE depth perception, hate to see what it'll be when I'm older.
I'm only 14 =/ I, myself, like name brand products when it comes to this. Batteries, if it has hundreds of great reviews, like the Turnigy's, I'll go ahead and love em. Just, I bought the DX3R before Assan's were ever out, doh! |
I have a AE XP3D waiting for the module and receivers. I'm ready to have a real radio so I can start playing around with all of the setting and with with the 10 model memory I'll be set for a LONG time.
Only 10?
The DX3R has a 30 :p I kinda want a cheap 2.4ghz though.. Maybe something like a DX3.0 or DX2.0 just so I can run my trucks at once, one for my friend, and one for me... I need a backup, brushless and a generic AM radio = Glitchcity. |
10 is enough for me... I have enough trouble keeping 1 RC running at a time and having anything over 5 seams kinda useless to me because you can only drive 1 at a time and there are only so many hours in a day. I'm getting a job when school starts to maybe things will change once I have a source of income...
That's exactly what I thought, but the point of the 10 Model is that you don't have to keep resetting your stuff just to run the truck/car/whatever.
Yea but having 10 RC's at once it kinda overkill to me. I can't wait till I get to test it out and when I get a Hyper ST so I'll finally have more then 2 RCs.
Yeah, good point.
I have... 4 I think. AE TC4, EMaxx, ESavage (I know I know.. shaddup ), and my Evader I think we should stop whoring the thread and get back on topic :p |
Yea LOL. I might spend another $120 there to get a Turnigy Accucel 8 Charger and a PS.
Skip the PS route, if you're stable with DIY stuff, and soldering, convert an old PSU to a PS.
I'll be doing that when a BC8DX comes my way.. Reasons disclosed til then :] |
I would but I don't have an old PSU and it's nearly the same price and IMO the purpose build PS looks better and has less bulk.
Touche.
But, run to a old computer store, they'll probably toss one to ya for a couple bucks. Maybe even $5? The specs, I don't know yet, haven't done the researching. I'll do it before I start it. Links? |
i have about a grand spent at hobbycity, thats probably because i own about 8 zippys, only 1 polyquest and 1 true rc lol

What do you buy from dealextreme?
Ive spent about 250-300 there but this is a reminder to me that almost nothing is made in the US any more and people wonder why the country is drowning in debt........just look around your house and see how many things are made out side of the US.....PROBABLY 80-90%
closer to $800 there for me.
