Sidewinder Micro ESC
 

Hello , I have a mini REVO and I was wondering how many amps the Sidewinder micro can handle as I want too put it in my truck . Some other people have tested the stock VXL system and they were getting peaks of over 50 amps .

The Sidewinder micro can handle about 30A continuous, and peaks of about 50-60A.

Hmm, looks like I will have too give it a shot then !

Bashem, what battery chemistry and voltage were those peaks recorded at? Using equivalent voltage quality lipos will probably cause current to peak a bit higher since there will be a little less voltage drop than NiMHs.

i will no afraid to put this little beast in the mini revo just gear it suitably:yes:

Personally I'd use a regular S/W...

me too its shoold be more safe and not a lot expencive..

The Mamba Max is compact enough to fit nicely. I imagine the MM would be enough to push the mini to 100 or so :tongue: The Micro Pro or 1/10th SideWinder would be great alternatives to the stock ESC IMO.

Well I had the Sidewinder micro sitting around and I wanted to see if it could handle 3s in the mini REVO with the stock gearing , I did run it and it was better than the stocker BUT it did hit the thermal cutoff on 3s so I might have to look elsewhere ....

Kinda big though , I am thinking maybe a Mamba Pro when they are released , that pic that shows it next too a quarter is sweet , nice and small and will take the power ...

That was only the control board -- the full Mamba Pro ESC is about the same size as the Mamba Max.

Oh , bummer , still small but if you could fit it all onto that one board that would be freaky !

I'm about to do just that. My Sidewinder should be here tomorrow or Monday. It shouldn't even break a sweat on the 380 motor in there...until I bypass the internal BEC and run it on 4S for a few speed runs. :intello:

I currently have a Mamba Max in my 1/16 E-Revo with a 1112 Neu.

Have yet to run it, need to do a few more things. I'll get pictures up when it is done though.

Im running the Mamba Micro Pro, I have no problems with it in the Mini revo on 3s and it runs the same temps as the VXL did..

But does it thermal ? What gearing are you running ?

Nope mine has yet to thermal, Im running 23/50 on a 3s lipo in about 80 degree weather,
