FYI...really cheap Losi Sand Tires

I was on eBay last night and saw a seller closing out the Losi Sand Wedges and Sand Razors. Just search for Losi Sand and you'll find them. The Sand Razors are ~$5/pr and the Sand Wedges are ~$6/pr. Just keep in mind you'll need 40 series wheels of some sort for them. For anyone wanting to run them on 17mm hex wheels, Axial has a great selection.

I saw those, I wish they had some regular mt tires (besides kind pins) marked down like that. I was still thinking about a set of bolt-ons.

nitrostarter 07.08.2009 12:10 PM

Those are tires only correct? Do those sand tires require foams? I know my Sand Paws for my Rustler dont...

junkman 07.08.2009 12:13 PM

they say includes tires and foams, so I guess they are pretty soft. Someone just posted up a couple lst's a day or so ago that had a couple sets on them.

nitrostarter 07.08.2009 12:15 PM

Got ya, I didn't even pay attention to the title. I'm ordering up a set. Only thing I hate is she uses Parcel shipping with no other option. It took 7 days to get my last order from her. I hate Parcel shipping!

I have a set of 40 series beadlocks I'll swap them on and off for now.

junkman 07.08.2009 01:34 PM

I wonder how these would work on 1/2 up rulux wheels, to give them a narrower taller profile.

nitrostarter 07.08.2009 01:56 PM

I saw a pic of a 40 series Masher mounted on a LPR style wheel. It just tucked the sidewalls in and made the top tread pattern give a bit more side bite. I'll look for that pic and see what I can find.

Thanks that would be great.

Byte 07.08.2009 02:04 PM

Wowwow! I want to buy 2 sets of them for my LST!!! I sent a message to him how much shipping is to the Netherlands, hope he'll respone soon :)

Btw, isn't it a good idea to make a "Cheap new stuff" topic? Where all rc-monster members can post their links of new stuff that is on sale or is really cheap?

nitrostarter 07.08.2009 02:07 PM

Pic posted.

My guess is that these tires will do the same. I have a set of Losi truggy wheels, same as LPR, that i will try out as soon as I receive my set of Sand tires.

junkman 07.08.2009 03:08 PM

Thanks for the pic. Kind of neat, I put a set of mt mashers on 1/2 up rulux last night. It's cool to see the difference between the 40's and regular ones on those wheels.

We had that but the thread got deleted.

skellyo 07.08.2009 03:18 PM

Guys...also note the shipping prices. It's $1 more shipping for some of the Sand Wedges than others. With the combined shipping they offer, you'll want to buy the ones with the lower shipping costs for sure.

nitrostarter 07.08.2009 03:22 PM

I bought 2 pairs of the Sand Wedges and picked up a couple other thing from there to take advantage of the free shipping on additional items. Great deal.

skellyo 07.08.2009 03:36 PM

I picked up 4pr of Losi buggy rears, 1pr Sand Wedges and 1pr Sand Razors for $39 shipped. I'm thinking about picking up a set of the Super Bolt-On tires as well. It's funny when it costs more for a set of plain plastic wheels than the set of tires.

Why??

Is fine but someone has to police it - when you start taking business aware from mike for the sake of $2 its not fair - support the monster...

For product categories that mike doesn't sell or compete with it would be fine... my guess this basic rule was broken...

Basically don't poop in your own dinner ...

My own rule I go by is that if Mike sells that product or a competing product, I don't post it, period. I always search his store before I post info on great deal I find. It's the only respectful thing to do IMO.

Arct1k 07.08.2009 04:28 PM

Skelly - 100% agree - I don't think it happened last time hence the delete key...

Bondonutz 07.08.2009 04:51 PM

I canned my post for the Monster out of Respect.

What is the difference between 420 series and 40 series.
I need some sand tires for a Jammin CRT Truggy. What tire/wheel setup should I use?

BL_RV0 07.08.2009 10:50 PM

PL makes (or used to, can't remember) a 3.2" paddle.

nitrostarter 07.08.2009 10:58 PM

420 and 40 series are the same size tires. Just the 420 means that the wheels come with a 20mm hex.

I just! sold a set of Proline Maxx Paddles...

Pro-Line and Panther both make standard 3.2" paddle tires

I got my Sand Wedges in. They look great and should work great in the sand. I will say they come with CHEAP and really LARGE foams. They definitely need to be trimmed or replaced. Definitely a good deal tho.

skellyo 07.15.2009 06:10 PM

I actually ran mine this past weekend at the beach. I put them on Axial 8 spoke beadlocks (what a pain in the ass). They do very well in hard packed and loose sand. I could nail the throttle on my Flux and dig about a 1" deep trench on take off in the hard packed sand.

nitrostarter 07.15.2009 10:48 PM

Nice! I love the Sand Paws on my Rustler. But hated the Maxx Paddles because of the scoop design. These should do much much better!

jpoprock 09.07.2009 02:11 PM

Sorry to revise this thread... but these tires are still avail on Ebay. And I'm wondering if anyone has any experience between the two tire types? One has a deeper paddle then the other. Does that really make a huge diff? Or is it cool to maybe mix and match them F/R? I wanted to get some just in case it ever comes up that I can use them. Be it snow or sand. For that price, it's not a bad investment. I'm just not sure which to get!

nitrostarter 09.07.2009 05:17 PM

I have a set of Sand Wedges and Axial 40 series wheels for sale if anyone is interested...
