Rain!

We've had so much rain this year... Wow. The corn's supposed to be "Knee high by the 4th of july" but hell, I was in a cornfield yesterday and the corn was at least 5 feet tall. I went to another corn feild and it was over 6 feet tall! :surprised:

I was playing in a double-header baseball game and it started to rain between the two games. Then it started to RAIN. RAIN. You looked at the rain coming down and it looked like snow. The whole field had 1/2" of water on it. Then I left and had my windsheild wipers and max. Usually on a downpour, that would be enough. I couldn't see crap this time. I've never seen it rain harder in my life.

Umpiring tonight it started "misting" and it did that the whole game. The field looked like a slurry of... mud.

Is it just my area or is everyone else getting tons of rain this year?

Hasn't rained here in i'd say a week. Pretty dry here.....

Lots in the East. I know there is lots in CO as well. Its usually brown out there w/ the summer heat, but its still all green out there. Personally I love it.

It was a nice 81f today. July is usually hot, humid and muggy. Lovely weather to go outside during lunch and not come back a sticky sweaty mess.

Here in Florida were getting pounded, rained AGAIN all day today. I haven't ran a RC truck in over a week. I need a fix !!!!!
Ben killing the urges flying my MCX in the house.Yawn,boring.
We received 4'' this afternoon.

Seattle area - have only had .1" in the last 6 weeks. My lawn is almost completely dormant already (ours up here does that during the summer).
On the news tonight they said statistically, there is only a 10% chance that we will get any rain between now and the end of August....

Here in socal we haven't had rain since november or so. Sucks really bad. I'm a little canadian boy and can't live without rain...

Rainfall seems pretty average up here in Toronto. Probably just me, but if anything, the temperature fluctuations seem a little more common.

zeropointbug 07.10.2009 02:48 AM

We had a pretty dry spring, and now it's been an above average wet summer now... and speaking of rain, we had a HUGE down pour today, something like 3/4" in maybe 10 mins. my yard was a lake, and it is all very well drained. I don't have an eaves-trough because I have a very steep 45 degree roof and very large, would pull it right off... anyways the rain was pouring off the roof in a blanket.

Even if it did rain, it might evaporate before hitting the ground!

Dry would be an understatement here in Mississsippi, haven't gotten more than a 1/4" of rain since bout the first of April. Grass crunches under your feet, ponds are turning over, and crops are getting burnt up, and the heat index is 105F.

It's rained about average amount this year so far. Last year was just too much and flooded a lot of places. One of the bad things about a flat geography: there's nowhere for the water to go once it overflows riverbanks except everywhere where it's not supposed to be (namely my basement)!

Krawlin 07.10.2009 04:35 PM

It has been raining quite a bit here in southeastern Arizona, in the Tucson and Sierra Vista areas. Not as much as last year I think but still quite a bit. Clouds are coming into my area right now, might get rain a bit later today.

Metallover 07.10.2009 04:45 PM

Besides the Corn bein 3x taller then it usually is, we haven't turned our sprinklers on yet. Usually they come on at the beginning of June.

Bondonutz 07.10.2009 06:47 PM

Rained again for few hours around dusk last night. It's ben clear all day today but the dark clouds are rolling in again. I don't beleive a whole lot what the weather Tool says, I think they guess as much as we do and they have the equipment and sonar ?
