My ECRT.5 Build
Just picked up this Jammin .5 tonight. Got a roller with bk bars indoor tires, and another set with I believe they were dirt hawgs or something along those lines. Cant remember, also cam with a body but I need a new one. It has the Blue Groove Conversion on it already. It needs to be cleaned up but I only gave $35 for all of it so I figured what the hell I aint out much.
Im planning to use a Sidewinder and probably the traxxas brushless motor on 3s. I have heard the traxxas motor on 3 cell is a pretty good setup. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...rt5/jammin.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...t5/jammin2.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...t5/jammin3.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...t5/jammin4.jpg |

You may not have to wait too much longer:whistle: |
Looks good. Damn you got a great deal!!!

Holey Mackrel. I just threw a Mamba max and that old 2770kv motor I had no idea on what brand it was on it and on 3 cell it is slam nasty. You can be 3/4 throttle going about wide open and give it full throttle and it will stand straight up. Even in the wet grass. I just got it all put together about an hour ago and its dark now so I didnt get to play with it much. Its to dark. Ill have some pics and maybe a vid tomorrow.
|
Oh yea. The 1/8th scale wheels and tires work awesome on it.
|
Well here are a few pics with the elctronics on. Video will have to wair since my laptop took a shit and all the programs and junk are on it. Not sure when Ill have it back.
Well anywho I put a Mamba Max ESC, 3 cell lipo, and some 2770kv brushless motor that I have no clue what it is. All I know is that on 3 cell it is more then enough. Will flip over at nothing. Also through on a Hitec 645mg servo for now. It works pretty good on it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...5/DSCI0019.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...5/DSCI0021.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...5/DSCI0022.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...5/DSCI0024.jpg |
Cut down your motor leads.
|
I did. I cut them to that length. I dont want them too short. Its fine like they are. It doesnt have a whole lot od slack in them.
|
Hey man, don't worry about the criticism. BL_RVO has a wiring fetish... Or maybe it's OCD... Everyone's wiring just has to be perfect.
I like how the mount uses the nitro spot and how you flipped the servo. Very unique. :great: |
Looks nice...all you need now is Mike's extended chassis kit!

I do like clean wiring. I have a project in its design phase that will have absolutely no visible wires.
|
I am also a fan of clean wiring. Ijsut through this stuff on here to see what it will do. Its not how its goign to stay forever. Its my buddies Mamba Max I still ahve to find on for myself. There aint a whole lot of room to hide the wiring on these little things though.
Ill clean it all up and make it look better whenever I get me a new Mamba Max. Anywho here is my Losi 8 it has pretty clean wiring. Only wires you see on it are the motor and battery wires. Still has the switch and everything on it. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...003640x480.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v4...001640x480.jpg |
Also jsut went out and ran a 2 cell 8000mah pack through it and its barely got warm. Motor was at 132 and esc was at 110 or so at the lipo cutoff.
With a 2 cell it still runs great and is still pretty quick. Sill stand up no problem from a stop. I still need to go a 1 or 2 teeth down on the pinion for the 3 cell. |
If I'm not mistaken, that looks like an XL can motor, which explains the power and cool temps!
Looks good with the 1/8th scale tires and all tho! |

Thats good to know! Glad you like them!

I criticize everyone a lot, incase you haven't noticed. Your wiring could have been much better. Motor wires could have been shortened 1" or so and you could have turned your battery around, so that you can drastically shorten those wires.
|
since you have it running, its time to throw the castle neu motor in there! it should fit just fine, and mabye if you can jam the MMM in there too instead of pinning the wing to the ground, standing and rolling backflips!
|
Just changed the diff fluid in the center and there wasnt squat in there to begin with. Can you say standing backflips now? Standing backflip to backflip. lol
Still need to get some vid but its hard to drive and take a vid at the same time. |
what diff fluid have you put in your's???
I have 20K up front, 50K center and 10K rear. |
Havent changed the front or rear yet but I put 50k in the center. It acts like a totally different beast now that you can get the power to the ground. backflips at nothing and even rolling backflips. Its awesome.
|
Yep! 50K in center diff of this little truck act like a locked diff:yes:
I have the same diffs setup in my brushless crt.5 and in my nitro crt.5 with an RB concept V-15 engine, and it's a realy beast too, i realy like both truck, nitro and electric:yipi: |
