 thats right i forgot it was 1518, but the question still stands

revo guy 07.28.2009 07:02 PM

It would be nice if castle came out with different motor sizes and alot of different kv's like tekin did

Bondonutz 07.28.2009 08:04 PM

I also would greatly appreciate a lower KV mill regardless.

Metallover 07.28.2009 09:56 PM

castle needs to step up after medusa went out of business.. We need to see more 4 pole, slotted motors similar to neu/medusa.

this is why im wanting the castle 1800kv motor, i was going to buy a medusa 36-80 but they arent going to warrenty them so castle is my next choice

jacobsjo87 07.29.2009 11:36 PM

It seems like castle is avoiding this topic... I wish we could just get a yes or a no on if they are ever going to make these.

Not avoiding anything - - just not sure of delivery dates yet. The economy in China has thrown a wrench into parts procurement, and magnets have a long lead time.

nitrostarter 07.30.2009 11:36 AM

Damn Chinese! We want those Magnets!

Patrick, hows that new Pick and Place machine working for you guys?

The pick and place is running smooth -- just completed converting all Castle products this week. :yipi:

hemiblas 07.31.2009 01:05 PM

I am definetly looking forward to this motor. So we are talking same diameter as the 2200, but longer can with 5mm shaft and standard mounting screw pattern?

nitrostarter 07.31.2009 01:09 PM

Yes sir. Should be in between the 1515 and 1521 in length. This will be a phenomenal Truggy/MT motor. I will buy another Truggy just to put it in....

Sammus 08.01.2009 02:16 AM

Weren't medusa's machine wound? I think part of the reason the castle motors don't have as much variety is that theyre all hand wound like neus, but unlike neu's aren't individually made to order, so they need to have a decent stock, and to do that for 5 billion different motor choices all hand wound would be massively expensive and probably not practical, I think they picked the most popular/applicable sizes to keep stock of... initially, anyway.

E-Revonut 08.01.2009 09:03 AM

The Castle/neus are NOT hand wound, they are machine wound

Well you better let Patrick del Castillo - the President and Principle Engineer of Castle Creations - know. He would probably be upset to find out they changed the plans behind his back.

You can't machine wind this type of brushless motor. They are all hand wound by Chinese girls with tiny little fingers.

Freakycrawler 08.09.2009 03:30 PM

Done yet? My 2 pole 1800 is getting way too hot:neutral:

bryan 08.09.2009 07:05 PM

Chinese girls with little fingers are great . There are machines out there that can wind brushless motors though, but hand wound motors seems to be what people wants.

Talking about chinese thingys... I always wanted to know what brushless manufacters pay for making there motors. But you probably won't tell me for how much percent of the selling price (which the customer pays) you guys pay for a motor? Or do you? I would also like to know how much a Plettenberg Bigmaxximum would cost to make for Plettenberg

I can't see machine winding a 1 turn motor ever being a real help anyway!

I've still never seen a machine that can wind a brushless motor less than about a 2.5" ID. And you need a fairly large gap between the stator teeth for the needles -- there is no gap in the 1515 once they are enameled.

It takes just about 1 minute to wind a 1 turn motor -- but it takes about 20 minutes to prep the wires and the wire needles... :surprised:

 I never said it was for the motors we use in our cars. I'll post a link maybe 2 when I find the companies that makes such machines.

Edit: http://www.electrowind.com/ and I'm still looking for another good place that either winds the motors or makes the winding machines. http://www.axis.it/Prodotti/default....=137&IDProd=94
