BK Electronics Wanderer XL

Can someone please tell me what the differances are in these?

7xl
8xl
9xl
10xl
11xl

Is the 11xl the most power? I'm looking to buy one to replace the HV that i have now. I want more speed and wheelies!

How many cells are you planning on running?

No lower than 14 cells.......maybe 16 cells but no lower than 14.

the 7xl would have the most power but the least amount of runtime
the 11xl would have the least amount of power but good runtime
a lot of people go with the 9xl because it has good torque and you can get good runtime out of it.
all of these motors would have more power than your HV-Maxx though.

I agree with boss302 - 9XL - you wont be disssssapinted. so much for the speelling dingy.. :027:

huh what are you talking about

Chase023 02.06.2006 06:05 PM

Motor -KV Rating - Max Amps -
7xl -2382 -93
8xl -2084 -85
9xl -1853 -74
10xl -1668 -66
11xl -1516 -60

Resistance increases with the number of turns as well.

Get a 9920 and a 8XL and you will be happy.

Nick 02.06.2006 07:04 PM

I didn't know 7XL was so high in amps!

I run a 7XL on 14 cells and its quick and good runtimes but you don't get much room if your wanting more cells or runtime. I would reccomend the 9XL.

squeeforever 02.06.2006 07:16 PM

nick, thats not really an accurate figure. there are many factors in the amp draw and thats probably a spike or short burst. they probably rate it so high so somebody will buy a 12020 instead of a 9920 for instance or to cover there ass' if something happens.

coolhandcountry 02.06.2006 08:36 PM

It depends on the speed and runtime you are trying to get. I like the 9xl. I want to try a 10xl and a 8xl.

squeeforever 02.06.2006 08:47 PM

dont you have some coming your way, leroy?

coolhandcountry 02.06.2006 09:21 PM

Supposed to. I haven't seen them yet. I don't know why. I need to email the man now. That is what happens when you don't deal with mike. :D

squeeforever 02.06.2006 09:44 PM

chris is a pretty nice guy but REAL slow on shipping.

RC Fan 4 Life 02.07.2006 12:46 AM

I'm not worried about run time, i just want more speed and power than what the HV has. I want the best motor i can buy or else a month later i will want something else.

nbcaznmaster 02.07.2006 07:31 AM

lol, get use to that. ITs called rc! Its never ending! you'll want more and more and more!

boss 302 02.07.2006 07:57 AM

How Much money are you willing to spend?

coolhandcountry 02.07.2006 09:14 AM

More speed and power than the hv don't narrow it down none. My 9xl has more power than two of the hv maxxes. I get more run time as well to. Speed is above the hv. Your going to run no less than 14 cells maybe 16. 7xl or a 8xl would be real nice. Determine how much runtime you want. 7xl is not to long about 10min or so depends on driving style. 8xl will run longer but a touch less speed.

RC Fan 4 Life 02.07.2006 11:54 AM

I think i will go with the 9xl on 16 cells and maybe add more cells later on and use a Warrior 9920. One thing i don't like about the HV it seems like it has no brakes at all is the 9920 better at braking?

What is RC-Car Software? The info on the 9920 says it has a bec do i still need to buy one?

Does anyone else sell the 9920 and the 9xl that have it in stock?

Money wise i'd spend 500 bucks to get a good setup, i really want a good small Controller.

coolhandcountry 02.07.2006 12:36 PM

for 16 cells you need a ubec or a receiver pack.

MaxxFusion 02.07.2006 01:45 PM

You can get the software to program the controller on your pc. You dont need it.

I would go with the ubec for sure. That way you dont have to worry about a receiver pack.

Chase023 02.07.2006 04:40 PM

It says MAX AMP not nominal or average AMP draw , so how is that not an accurate figure??

MetalMan 02.07.2006 09:08 PM

That is something like the maximum continuous amps. A motor can pull more than that number of amps in a short spike (from high track, for example), but normally will pull much less.

RC Fan 4 Life 02.08.2006 12:41 AM

Who else sells the 9xl and 9920? It's not in stock here and i don't see it on ebay.

RC Fan 4 Life 02.08.2006 02:43 PM

Right now with the HV i only get run times of around 11min on GP 3300 14 cells. Kinda low aint it?

What gearing should i use when i get the 9xl? With the HV_maxx i'm using 16/70 because i have the UE diffs.

coolhandcountry 02.08.2006 05:52 PM

22 66 is good for a set of 14 cells.
