VERY NICE! i thought about getting one when they were brand new but thought about it and parts would be a pain in the ass to get if you broke something. were did you buy it from?

toby 02.06.2006 08:44 PM

dtcrc.com they have a promo on and they stock all of the aprts

coolhandcountry 02.06.2006 08:51 PM

cool
Let us know how it handles and runs.

ygguB naM 03.05.2006 06:31 PM

Did it come in yet?

toby 03.05.2006 08:20 PM

Yeah sorry fro not updating. I am half done the build. Going to run an airtronics servo (got it ordered) and ib 3800 6 cell pack (got one being made) and not sure on what motor yet but it is going to be brushed.

boss 302 03.05.2006 08:40 PM

those are definately neat looking buggies and they look like they should handle good.
Keep us updated!

For the motor i'd go for an 8x1. How good are the instructions?

squeeforever 03.05.2006 10:00 PM

an 8x1 would be insane although it would be very hard on batteries and you really wont ever use all that power. i would go for like a 13x2 or maybe a 12x2. they would be better on the batteries and give better runtimes.

It's 4wd, i had an 8x2 in my b4 and i was fine.

Be careful with these buggies ( x10) they are fairly fragile and can easily break.

I think they worked out the problems.

Gustav 03.06.2006 08:00 PM

Now they have a new problem!http://www.cmldistribution.co.uk/pro...subMenu=CR-KIT

You're joking right? Didn't you see the yokomo. That'd be one expensive 'fiat' since it costs more that the 'ferrari'

squeeforever 03.06.2006 09:57 PM

its more like a mazda miata and a lamborghini mura...

The x10 is still a way cooler car.

Gustav 03.06.2006 10:30 PM

Not sure about that,it should have a lower drag co-efficient(by having rockers/inboard shocks but my money would be on the transverse motor every time in modified (or for brushless!)

The x10 was wind tunnel tested and it's shaft drive so it's better for fast motors.

Gustav 03.06.2006 11:18 PM

Don't get me wrong, the x-10 is awesome,no doubt from anyone about that.I nearly bought one.

I was saying the x-10 has the aerodynamic advantage, that's why i mentioned the inboard suspension, that is the reason for this design.

Actually,in 1/10 racing,transverse/belt layouts traditionally have the handling advantage with more powerful motors. That's why in touring car racing, by and large, shafts are used in stock (where the drivetrain efficiency is more of an advantage than the handling benefits of the belt drive layout) and belts are used in modified.

With a longditudinal motor(shaft drive) the motor exerts a rotational force on the chassis, giving inconsistent handling from left to right(undesireable). With a transverse motor (belt drive)this force can be used to create an anti-squat effect under accelleration and an anti dive effect under braking(desireable).
This is the reason both designs exist, they both have different advantages.

ttrmike 03.07.2006 09:07 PM

Did you finish it?

I ment that shaft drive is more durable.

Gustav 03.10.2006 07:20 PM

Oh,i see what you mean. That's one problem with the Yokomo, it runs open belts like a touring car,so some debris in there could ruin your day.Not much good for messing around off road. The other belt drives in that class are enclosed like the losis and x-5s.

And belts wear out way faster.

ygguB naM 03.13.2006 02:17 PM

Is any body around?

ygguB naM 03.17.2006 08:14 PM

Any updates?
