supermaxx4190 03.02.2005 08:54 PM

lol i knew you did, but was wondering if anyone else did. how did you get the HB lightning pro so early?? what are you running for power in that thing?

HotnCold 03.02.2005 09:09 PM

This is my second Lightning Pro - both Mike and I have had them since last season - Im running a Novarossi Medial Pro 2K - It seems pretty good - Its my first non RB .21 motor. Its good to have a motor that runs and idles...

Superemaxx89 03.02.2005 09:11 PM

what defines a truggy?

supermaxx4190 03.02.2005 09:20 PM

i thought the pro didnt come out till march?

HotnCold 03.02.2005 09:30 PM

march

march of 2004 - however there were only a handful of them that went out -

rc4x4nut 03.03.2005 10:55 AM

You guys are making me want to get a nitro truggy now.

HotnCold 03.03.2005 06:24 PM

Truggy

I would guess a truggy would be described as a truck mated with a buggy - hence the name " Truggy " - It actually is a 1/8 scale size buggy ( or longer as the lightning stadium is )with longer suspension arms with monster truck rims and tires. It gives the perfomance of an 1/8 scale with ground clearance and stability. And if you were wondering - I will not be running my 1/8 scale buggy this season because this truggy is absolutely awesome and so much fun to drive...

I've got a Hyper 7 with the JT racing conversion.
I've got a WS 7 II for it at the mo but I'm seriously looking at putting a Brushless system in it.

will post a pic soon

RC-Monster Mike 04.04.2005 06:08 AM

I have a stretched titanium chassised dominator, the HB Lightning Pro, and a few g-maxxes (kind of electric truggies!). I never really dug the buggy conversions, though.

Richard6908 06.30.2005 10:26 PM

i got a Xtm mammy but no pics as of know mods are Hardbodyz cage Blue,1 5mm shock tower, upgraded front/rear braces, servo saver plate, main gear plate, aluminum servo saver and ofna pull starter.

rc freak 06.30.2005 11:31 PM

Mammoth's are not truggies they are monster trucks.

Richard6908 07.01.2005 07:14 AM

Mammoths are to truggys.

cabking 07.01.2005 12:13 PM

The mammoth is definitely a MT
I always thought the definition of a Truggy is a vehicle with
A low center of gravity
Diffs that are mounted on top of the chassis
center diff
I may be wrong, but does the Mammoth have any of these? :D

Re~Mix 07.01.2005 12:33 PM

Anyone read the new rc car action? He probably bought the Mammoth ST, which is a truggy.. So chill out.

rc freak 07.01.2005 01:41 PM

If you go to a hobby shop ask them what a mammoth is they wil say a monster truck st or not

RC-Monster Mike 07.01.2005 01:53 PM

Enough of this, guys! The HB lightning is a monster truck, or a truggy or a giant 4wd stadium truck. It all means the same thing. The xtm mammoth st is the same thing. This back and forth semantics is pointless, don't you think?

cabking 07.01.2005 04:05 PM

Sorry Mike, Not wanting to aggravate Anyone
I thought we were just discussing what class of truck the Mammoth is.
I don't know how you guys class your trucks for racing, bit in the UK the Mammoth would be in the BB class with the Sav's , LST's Maxx's etc.
while the HB lightning would be in the outlaw class with the Modded Buggy's, SUT's and the like.

Love you all.........................PEACE

rc freak 07.01.2005 04:17 PM

Sorry Mike for the arguement. cabking thank you for seeing this my way on what class the mammoth is in it goes the same way for my league too.

Serum 07.01.2005 06:06 PM

Are those truggies wireless?

rc freak 07.01.2005 06:07 PM

What truggies are wireless?

Dafni 07.01.2005 06:11 PM

Yes, wireless as in N-I-T-R-O.

:L: I vote for 3 wires!

rc freak 07.01.2005 06:15 PM

What are you guys talking about is there something I am missing.

Serum 07.01.2005 06:16 PM

the three wires this forum is all about...

Dafni 07.01.2005 06:20 PM

No worries, just kidding.

rc freak 07.01.2005 06:24 PM

oo... Are you guys saying go brushless?

Serum 07.01.2005 06:26 PM

No, we are just BL addicts. a nice nitro can rock too..

What, me? No. Nitro might be perfect for you, to each his own.
But if I ever get another nitro, I will convert it again. I like the LST.

Speaking of truggies....have you seen the HB Lightning Serum introduced to BL?

rc freak 07.01.2005 06:33 PM

No I havent and I have one quesition for you guys Dafni and Serum I know you really like bl but do you oon 1 nitro car that has a motor in it that takes nitro I am not trying to be rude or nothing I was just wondering and I like your bl revo Dafni

Serum 07.01.2005 06:47 PM

No, i am no nitro guy. I don't like it being loud, i can't run it where i want on the times i want. without annoying anyone. I do not have got one nitro car. i did thought about it. I am just a sucker for the low end power BL has got. ever seen my savage in action in this movie? it was not ultimate fast. Only 16 cells. it accelerates quick though.

here is the thread to the lightning makeover.

In the choice of bl and nitro; everybody can and should do what he likes the best, without getting ANY negative comment about it. We are all enjoying the exact same hobby.

:) Thanks, I like it too. And no, I don't have a nitro at the moment, but I had. And I will probably get another one at a later point.

rc freak 07.01.2005 06:54 PM

Serum cool video what do you have in that thing it is pretty quick and who let the dog out..lol

Very true and I didnt mean to make any type of negative comment about you. Sorry if it came out that way.

Serum 07.01.2005 06:59 PM

No, you did not came out in that way! It's all good.

My word!

I would like to throw something in here: If it wouldn't have been for Mike and his RC-Monster here, I would have quit the hobby completly. It's just a pain to get stuff here, and buying part per part from numerous oversea sellers can get pricy, too.

BL gives me the possibility to get serious power (in the average swiss opinion a thing only nitros can get) AND I can bash wherever, whenever I want.

I am cool with discussion, just as long as everyone respects each others opinion. FYI, The mammoth would race in the hybrid class. It has a flat chassis and central tranny just like the LSP. The only difference is a two speed vs a diff. Otherwise, they are very similar in design.

Richard6908 07.01.2005 07:41 PM

wow serum very nice truck and fast have you clocked it yet

starscream 07.01.2005 08:59 PM

Hey Serum,
Nice MT.
What motor and esc are you running in the Savage?

Serum 07.02.2005 01:57 AM

It is (was) a bigmaxximum on 16 cells (and a schulze 18.97) i sold it and bought the 7XL with the 9920.. I clocked at 40mph. (with the bigmaxx) but it's that killer acceleration that puts the smile on my face.. :) IMO the 7XL 9920 combo runs smoother.

As I understand it 'the powers that be' think that the center diff is the main advantage, hence anything with one is considered Outlaw in the UK ;)
