hallo boys today i have tested the lehner 1940/8 on 6s-lipo in my buggy, and the 9xl BK on the savage whit 16 gp 3700...
this is the results of amp draw and the power output...

Sylvester 02.12.2006 02:57 PM

The savage really goes!!! I'm still downloading the buggy vid...

virusss 02.12.2006 03:38 PM

boys you say your opinions to me...
for the speed, amp draw watt output, suggestions on the gearing etc...

Sylvester 02.12.2006 03:43 PM

Personally i think you should gear down a bit for better torque / runtime.

BrianG 02.12.2006 04:26 PM

That buggy is fast, but the Savage has got tons of torque.

Looking at the graphs, those GP cells drop about 35% V at 1300W/96A. The Lipos only drop about 11% V at 1600W/80A. I want Lipos. :(

What's tha module that records that information?

virusss 02.12.2006 05:04 PM

http://www.eagletreesystems.com/MicroPower/micro.htmthe module is micrologger eagle tree, is very small...

virusss 02.12.2006 05:09 PM

sure the lipo they are clearly advanced to nickels-metal,the nickels are amazed me how much came down of voltage regarding the lipo...
sylvester, which machine me councils of geared shorter?

pcnutz 02.12.2006 05:53 PM

what controllers were you using?

virusss 02.12.2006 05:55 PM

in the savage i use 20120 microcar in the buggy 9920 warrior...

pcnutz 02.12.2006 06:00 PM

how hot do they get?
on the savage, I would not change a thing the way it wheelies forever

I am currently wanting to purchase a xl can motor. how does your 120 controller hold up on the savage, how much runtime. on the street and track?
I am more interested in track and bashing condition on hills, you need to run your testing there

stampy 02.12.2006 06:33 PM

i cant play any of the movies :( . what player are you guys using?

Nick 02.12.2006 06:35 PM

Wow! How fast is that buggy?

virusss 02.12.2006 06:47 PM

try with quicktime player, nick for you the buggy gearing is correct or too short?
I have noticed that the 1940/8 become hot

neither can i

virusss 02.12.2006 06:55 PM

use quicktime

Sylvester 02.12.2006 07:07 PM

The buggy is indeed fast!! I think its ok, if your motor is getting hot, does it have a heatsink, if it does, id go down a tooth or 2.

Superemaxx89 02.12.2006 07:08 PM

hows the microcar 20120 controller compared to the warrior?

stampy 02.12.2006 07:17 PM

wow i though the savage was going to pull way more amps than the buggy but only pulled 5 amps more peak. that wattage on the buggy is crazy:004:

that might make it worse. brushless will get hot if over or undergeared. try one tooth higher if the esc and batteries arent hot.

Sylvester 02.12.2006 09:12 PM

Well he stated his motor was getting hot, not his controller/batteries, and i think this means its undergeared.

Serum 02.13.2006 02:23 AM

Downloading as we speak..

Do you like your eagletree? since it's an inline, i personally do fancy the other one (eagletree system) what is your opinion on this recorder Viruss?

virusss 02.13.2006 03:49 AM

The savage pull only 5 more amp of the buggy because on 16 cell the 9xl not develops the max power of which he is able.In the buggy the controller and the batteries is warm, but the motor is hot, therefore i suppose is undergeared, my gear is 13/46...the microcar 20120 and the warrior is very similar(the microcar is little smooth).
Serum the eagletree power logger is very nice, is little offers many parameter to log,and work very well, for log, watt, amp,Rpm,voltage drop, for me is ok

Sylvester 02.13.2006 08:22 AM

Than it may be undergeared, how is your controller?

virusss 02.13.2006 08:33 AM

in buggy warrior 9920, in the savage 20120 microcar

Serum 02.13.2006 01:06 PM

Encore...

:)

Looking good Viruss..

1-0 for the buggy! wheelies..

virusss 02.13.2006 01:10 PM

thanks serum, what do you think about problem of temperature the 1940/8 in the buggy?the controller is warm but the motor hot, is undergeared or 6slipo is too much for that motor?
ah... for you which it is the average of amp draw what is looked at in the diagrams?

Serum 02.13.2006 01:22 PM

It are diffs that use 43/13 gears, right? what pinion/spur do you use? the motor makes about 44000 rpm on 6S lipo. That sounds a bit high.

What is the diameter of the wheels?

virusss 02.13.2006 01:27 PM

the gears is right, pinion 13 spur 46, the wheel diameter is 114 mm...

Serum 02.13.2006 01:53 PM

It is geared for about 75 km/h then..

How hot does it get? 50 degrees allready feels like burning the hand!

virusss 02.13.2006 01:59 PM

in effect i dont use a temp gun, in this week end I will measure, whit temp gun for a more precise temperature... i I have confronted whit a 9xl in the savage, this motor is cold respect a 1940/8...
you say what to me regard to the diagrams?
What is for you the average amp draw of two motors?

Serum 02.13.2006 03:03 PM

That's hard to say;

you use two different types of batteries, and rule number one is that the power of the setup is coming from the batteries.

those flightpower packs are one of the best packs available. and you use 6S (18 cells) vs 16 cells

virusss 02.13.2006 03:07 PM

true this week I will make of the deepened more tests...

Nick 02.13.2006 03:31 PM

What make Lipos are they, where did you get them from?

virusss 02.13.2006 03:37 PM

www.flightpower.co.uk

Serum 02.13.2006 04:48 PM

I did an enthusiastic post about them a few months back

coolhandcountry 02.13.2006 08:39 PM

What was the watts to hp ratio? How many watts does it take to make a hp?

lipomax 02.14.2006 01:14 AM

750 watts = 1 hp approximately
1500 watts = 2 hp

However, you can't compare HP to HP when comparing electric to gas. Electric has huge torque from 0 rpm and up while gas builds up torque.

poconoblmaxx 02.14.2006 10:10 AM

link wont work for me :frown:

virusss 02.14.2006 10:25 AM
