Is It Worth It??
i went to my hobbie shop and i was looking for a plain nice looking body for my truck...
is around 30$$CAN worth it for a clear body? is geting a paint job of my choice (two clours) 50$CAN is it worth it? have you seen better prices under that?:013: |
did you check ebay - there have been a couple i have picked up cheap - and they were awesome.
yeah look on ebay ... i buy prepainted atomik bodies ... they are nice
yea, ebay is pretty good, or theres a guy named Mike Cronin with good deals too;)
Cool - I didnt know RC-Monster Mike sold painted bodies. Got a linky? :027:
Not painted, but i bet mike could do it for a little fee :P
You may be right but I doubt it - Mike has more important stuff ( R&D, order shipping, packing, answering countless emails, dealing with suppliers, phone calls etc. ) than to mess around with painting bodies.... He barely has time to spend at the track anymore. But thats also the reason that this site is the way it is, Pure dedication.
But thats just my .02 cents. ( Not like I'm at his place constantly...) :005: |
Yeah, i can tell where his days go by in minutes! Hey, but thats life! He makes alot though, for sure!
Funny but i still need to know if its worth it or not ???LOL
Yes, 30 dollars for a clear body is o.k.
ty slevester....ill get into that.however is 70 dollars good for a profesional paint jod worth it with only 2 colors
??? |
good paint job with 2 colors? i dunno, but if your only bashing whats the point of a nice paintjob?
the man paints it inside the clear body so on the outside it can be as scratched as can be
Inside the body? thats stupid! I havent seen a body like that, but if you want to spend 70$ on worthless stuff , go ahead.
not 70 dollars 50
still, what ever, your call man!
im still thinking about it sylvester
If i were you, just get a normal clear body, leave it unpainted, see how all the kajiggers work. lol
i guess so like really i don't need to have a painted one just a clear body for now. this truck is my bigginner truck....next is something better!
Yeeeeaaaa BOYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY! - Flava Flave. lol

I thought r/c bodies were painted from the outside? How would you get a nice paintjob with painting it on the inside?
inside....the clear body protects the paint, acts as a clear, ect....have you ever painted one? admittedly, it is harder on to paint it on the inside but thats how its done....
I never knew that! Well you learn somthing new every day.....
I told you so.....dont worry... i thought it was on the out side 2
But when i look at guys painting bodies, i always thought it was from the outside.... hmmmm...
Accually it is easier I think to paint the inside. It helps protect it to. I would get a clear body and a can of paint. The usually comes with the decals and wind mask. You have to learn some how right. I have sprayed a few with spray cans. I don't claim to be good but I get by. If you going to bash it hard it don't have to look good.
Mike L - sorry the post got a little off topic - lol - 50 dollars is good for a painted body - 2 or more colors - properly masked ( so you dont see color bleed behind window and windshield protective sticker ) and stickered ( or stickers included but not installed ) is good - Its true that if your bashing your truck then its not that important - but it is a good price and if you want your truck to look good - then its well worth it..

there is a lady that paints really nice bodies in our town they are kinda expensive but you get what you pay for IMO. heres a link to her site http://www.dalercpainting.com/ she can paint almost anything that you would want. She has painted a few bodies for my family and almost everybody at the local track has run atleast one of her bodies.
