Are these things avalable, I also hear there may be a 250 and 300 amp version floating around (maybe in someones head)? Seems to be a good pair with a Neu 4430, and a bunch of lipos.

Can I ask you to define "a bunch of lipos"?

nl12 08.31.2009 07:22 PM

24s2p

magman 08.31.2009 08:08 PM

A Neu 4430:surprised: are you trying to power a 1:1 car?

Pdelcast 08.31.2009 08:46 PM

Not shipping yet... MOSFET problems. Got some great video of one of those shooting out 4 foot flames though.

Carraig042 08.31.2009 08:46 PM

That thing is huge! N/A for anything smaller than 1/5 scale haha!

I can't wait till the industrial stuff is ready, with the digital and serial I/O.

i can just see myself trying to build a car to house this thing. might aswell go to home depot and buy 10ft lenghts of aluminum flat stock to make a chassis.

What kinda power did those flames require? Surely the data logging feature caught that particular amp spike

I'm wanting to build something like this with brushless power, probably about 40% bigger, and maybe 4 wheel drive, dirt bike wheels and tires.

The Phoenix ICE HV-160 is just about ready for release, and that should do just about anything small like the above picture... 50V, 160A maximum.

That's about 8kW of power -- over 10hp.

And it's a beast -- we ran one on the bench at 240A for two minutes before it went over-temp and shut down.

so if the one mentioned is capable of 8kw of power, how much is the one at the top of the page capable of?

nl12 09.01.2009 09:24 AM

I need more power, or at least want it. I am planning on about 370 pound vehicle with rider onboard.

If it can handle 90V @ 200A that's 18,000 watts. Put a fan on the ESC to help keep it cool and you'd better be holding on to something when you put the coals to it because that's 24 HP.

whitrzac 09.01.2009 02:46 PM

I want a VID NOW!!!!!!

That looks like it might replace the Jeti SPIN200 on my Baja, is it going to have car programming?

NVM found the answer on the Hydra thread. Looks like you are going to release car software. ETA on car software?

Will the SHV 200 controllers be able to be daisy chained? If so what exactly will that enable?

Byte 09.01.2009 04:54 PM

It will cost 800 dollar or something like that... :surprised::surprised::surprised:

I would guess to increase current output or to allow multiple motors to be driven from one throttle signal input while maintaining sync.

I hope it will be able to do both of those things, would be useful features.

BrianG 09.01.2009 05:06 PM

I've been hoping for an ESC that could be daisychained to a "master" ESC for some time now. Would solve the whole dual BL motor syncing issue to keep them at the same speed despite slight differences in motor kv or whatever. Making a 4WD Slash would be a simple matter then.

shaunjohnson 09.01.2009 05:27 PM

one day i AM going to get a 1000A ESC from castle and make my nissan manette (vanette) electric!!
there is soo much space under the chassis once the fuel tank is gone for batteries:yipi:

nl12 08.05.2012 03:56 AM

Bump, I still want one, 300 amp version please.

Bondonutz 08.05.2012 01:09 PM

Wow, old thread with a very interesting topic ?

Semi Pro 08.05.2012 04:14 PM

me too , but i dont think castle will make them with how the ice 160 turned out

SV6000 08.18.2012 09:17 PM

I would love for castle to make a speed controller to compete with the large MGM 40063 or 25063, or the 40.330 from schulze. Yes the controllers would be physically bigger than what they are now but 400A constant at 63V and 500A burst
