Traxxas Forum...wtf?

So I went to visit the Traxxas forum to check PM's, and the link to it is gone...

I try a different shortcut and it says I don't have permission yada yada..

And apparently I can't post either - all I can do is navigate the forums.

Also, my status or what not below my name (on the Traxxas forum, it is based off post count), which usually reads RC Turnbuckle Jr. (anyone with 2500+ posts or something like that) just reads "registered user."

Last time I got banned whenever I logged in I was completely blocked out of the forum (used a bit too many "foul" words last time - apparently "crap" is foul).

But this time I didn't do squat! I only posted like 3 things in the last month, and I knew for a fact they didn't have anything the warranted a ban.

What he hell gives, is Traxxas randomly banning long time users? 3900+ posts and 3+ years. I sent them an email, those @ssholes better re-activate my account or I'll never buy a Traxxas truck again. :diablo:

Unsullied_Spy 09.08.2009 06:19 AM

I just went back to check and my account is the same way, oh well.

snellemin 09.08.2009 09:46 AM

Ditto on mine.

TexasSP 09.08.2009 09:49 AM

A) I would not really let it get to you, it's the Traxxas Forum after all
B) Most likely it's a glitch, it happens on there all the time
C) Most people over 13 don't care about the titles and post counts anyway, there are many on there with very high post counts who are total doofs
D) I basically stopped posting there but it will in no way affect my decision to buy TRX or not, they make good product and the CS is some of the best around, sure they have their flaws but so does every major RC manufacurer

kraegar 09.08.2009 10:54 AM

I've switched to barely skimming the traxxas forums, and only for specific problems.

The new Losi forums seem good so far, will be interesting to see if they turn into the TRX forums eventually.

George16 09.08.2009 11:11 AM

Mine was banned too. I only go there when there is not much traffic going on here or UE.

BrianG 09.08.2009 11:18 AM

Mine's still ok (so far). Almost looks like they are categorically banning all RCM members.

Modding_out 09.08.2009 11:30 AM

Mine still works, if they are banning rcm members I guarantee coolio's behind it some how:whip: On another note, I've seriously thought about being the model citizen long enough to be a mod, then permanently ban that a hole, I would be like
""

Rivermaxx 09.08.2009 01:03 PM

I got banned also for having 2 login names. How do they know its not my son who is loging in with his own name. So I just deleted all my cookies and started a new name with a different email adress. still works fine. They are way too strict over there I recieved 20% warning points for saying ass.

BrianG 09.08.2009 01:13 PM

lol, I got 20% warning points for saying "crap". And then, a couple days later, that same word is being said with no points. Not consistent at all. Then again, they can run their forum how they want; one of the benefits of paying the server bill.

Rivermaxx 09.08.2009 01:20 PM

Yea, I noticed the same thing its like they are picking out certain people and letting others get away with it.

Kcaz25 09.08.2009 01:41 PM

I had the same exact experience, I got fairly offended and asked Mishbehavin', what gives? Turns out I got banned automaticly because they instated some kind of forum logic law that kicked me off because my email provider(hotmail.com) was free(and I supposed that also means possible unprotected IDK) anyway I got them to straighten it out while also keeping my email adress.

What email providers do you guys use?

BrianG 09.08.2009 01:44 PM

I use my ISP email (mediacom). Funny too because the only time I use it is for registering at places that don't allow the free services. I don't even know if I have the password anymore.

Rivermaxx 09.08.2009 01:46 PM

charter.net

jayjay283 09.08.2009 01:58 PM

I say things like turd and crap to keep from burning peoples eyes with real expletives. I am comcast.net, but I know why I got banned from there. Coolios bawlz. Anyone who helped me fix my trucks over there is here so whats the point.

Finnster 09.08.2009 02:02 PM

I setup my own email server under the domain TRXistehghey.net.
Costs a few bucks a year, but is well worth it. No ban so far.

I did get 20% for saying PITA, as PITA implies ass, altho w/o saying it. I was actually referring to the appendix (considering I was referring to removing a revo diff, which is far more painful than a reference to most rectal medical disorders could properly convey) and was quite offended by their trashy language and suggestive comments. I appealed to no avail. :(
I replied back on the email most magnanimously:

Unsullied_Spy 09.08.2009 02:05 PM

The only interest I have in the Traxxas Forum is to update my BL Villain Build thread, I was hoping I could help some people who wanted to upgrade their own boats. No big loss, I just wish I could have finished my thread.

Bondonutz 09.08.2009 02:29 PM

TRX forum is a waste of time anyway, I was a member for 2 weeks befor I was banned.
Suprised I made it that long ?

The point is trying to educate the people who are new and want real accurate answers. When I started in BL (Revo) I started there and Dafni was the one who pointed me here. We all start somewhere, but it sure is nice to get the right answer instead of drivel like "my ERBE is l33t" or other nonsense. Basically just giving back what I've taken.

TexasSP 09.08.2009 03:51 PM

Best use of photshop ever! Cheers to paralyzed for posting this and I am 100% in agreement with his conclusion.

I get it, I was being too cynical. If it wasnt for you and neil and many others I would not have enjoyed the hobby as much (though I think its a sport having to dodge getting hit). I get ya, pass it on. Maybe you should just give them the link here though

btw beating dead horses is mean

BrianG 09.08.2009 04:06 PM

lol, I wasn't ragging on you jayjay, just expressing my point.

BTW: Beating a dead horse is simply tenderizing the meat. Now, beating a live horse on the other hand...

jayjay283 09.08.2009 04:17 PM

No man thats not how I took it, I got your point and its rightious, with the brushless coming up fast and all the changes daily they need a teacher. I've been getting the neighborhood kids into it and thanks to a couple members here will be getting my 8 year old neighbor going...

Kobe beef is massaged not beaten with sticks lol. Anyone ever eaten horse here ? My wife told me she used to eat alot of chinchillas as a "nena". I have a chinchilla named Stitchy. Makes me fear for his safety

BrianG 09.08.2009 04:29 PM

lol, ok.

I don't remember ever eating horse, but I remember my mom saying they we so poor when I was a wee lad that they ate horsemeat almost every night. Apparently horse was really cheap back then. So, I probably ate it, but don't remember the taste. But if it's meat, I am sure to like it. I've been hungrily eyeing a few animals that wander to my yard from the idiots across the street (they have dogs, cats, geese, ducks, etc - and this is in the city).

You sure "The Dude" shouldn't have been "The Dud"? lol, j/k.

_paralyzed_ 09.08.2009 05:43 PM

i've eaten squirrel, pigeon, lamb, rabbit, alligator, snake, bone marrow.

it was beef bone marrow. The texture was hideous(eat on a cracker to hide that) but it tasted like the best beef ever. weird

BrianG 09.08.2009 05:44 PM

Hmm, since we are on a weird food tangent (the bone marrow thing), I've eaten lamb tongue (a bit chewy) and chocolate covered cricket (tasted and crunched like almonds - pretty good though).

Nah, it was a pointless battle- everytime you educated one noob, another 3 would sprout up to take his place. That, and the occasional electronics guru who would sware blind that low voltage setups were just as efficient as HV ones, based on nothing more than electrical theroy ( you could tell when they had never actually tried a HV vs low V setup with different motors and gearing etc). It just drove me insane, but I have this compulsion to help people whenever possible.

I like BYT as its similar to the traxxas forum, but there are more elders if you will who have been there & done it all before, and lots of mods who are very fair minded like yourself. The nice thing is its quite a bit busier and the beatings videos are always entertaining when you're bored.

jayjay283 09.08.2009 06:10 PM

I ate dog in Mexico. Ordered beef and when I was done the lady opened her back door and pointed at a yard full of dogs, smiled at me and said "perro". It wasnt bad at all id eat it again. Gator chewy, snake the same. Im a red meat 4wd man lol

Geogenesis13 09.08.2009 06:17 PM

Try goat brain, and chicken lungs. They taste actually good.

Rivermaxx 09.08.2009 06:18 PM

Nothing better than a fish taco.

suicideneil 09.08.2009 06:23 PM

**Insert rude joke about wanting to eat 'cat' here**

_paralyzed_ 09.08.2009 06:24 PM

do you mean a taco with fish in it or a fishes reproductive organs?

Rivermaxx 09.08.2009 06:59 PM

No! a bear battered ensenada style fish taco with shredded cabage choped cilatro and tomatoe and the secret white sauce and some hot suace to top it off. It sounds gross but it is the best thing going especially with a cold one or two. Dont knock it until you try it.

Americans generally don't know about this. This is better than anything and goes for $1. "Baja Fresh" has some but they don't really do it justice. While fish tacos of the other previous affirmations may be more lucrative to the general public. Newport Beach, 44th and main, 5 blocks down.

Plan B of my life was to open a fish taco stand in Cabo LOL, I could eat them all day everyday. Different fish of your chioce, swordfish, halibut, mahi mahi, Im hungry now Im going to go get some fish

_paralyzed_ 09.08.2009 07:26 PM

I would love to try one. I looooove fish. Mostly eat walleye sunny's and crappies. No ocean fish for me unfortunately.

Rivermaxx 09.08.2009 08:20 PM

Dude, I am hungry also . Actually crappy would make a good fish taco. Usually they use some sort of white fish .Harold you would love them.
