A stripped screw for a head don't sound good. I don't know if you can fix it. You would need to get all the screws to hold the head down for it to work properly.

HotnCold 02.16.2006 09:57 PM

yep - and if you get all the screws tight - and you can spin the flywheel easily by hand - then the compression is not good - also - it will loose all low end grunt - if its got no compression - you either need a new piston and sleeve - or a new motor - sorry to be the bearer of bad news..

coolhandcountry 02.16.2006 10:24 PM

That is a problem hotncold. I don't think he can tighten all the screws up. He has some stripped. I don't know what you do to that. You may get a heli put in it. Get the stripped threads fixed.

HotnCold 02.16.2006 10:29 PM

Thats a tough one - if possible - retap and resize screws - thats about the only thing i can think of - is the motor very $$$$ - if not - it may not be worth it - also - if 2 of the screws are able to be tightened - then i think that if it is still easily spun ( flywheel ) then she is still shot - stripped screws or not -

Sylvester 02.16.2006 10:31 PM

No, he got out the stripped screws, he just didnt want to run with them in there..

Mike.L 02.17.2006 11:28 AM

ya if i replaced all four you it be alright?
like when you plug start it you hear a hiss like its escapeing..beacuse they are not screwed back in properly....so if i take all four screws out and replace em and screw in the good / new ones tightly it should be fine?

coolhandcountry 02.17.2006 01:18 PM

Oh! I thought you stripped the block part. I would put all four back in it and tighten down properly. Then check the compression. It is not going to seal if no tight. Have to do that and try it let us know how it goes.
