HPI Hellfire

Is the Hellfire worth getting? If so I need to know where to get one.

boss 302 02.17.2006 03:06 PM

Mike could get you one

captain harlock 02.17.2006 03:29 PM

I would go for it and turn it into brushless. Certainly a great chassis, imho.

coolhandcountry 02.17.2006 04:16 PM

Some one has seen one. I have seen a review on it and they talked about it good. If you looking at a truggy that or a jammin crt.

I said that in my LHS and you would have thought i was burning the flag

maxxdude1234 02.17.2006 06:38 PM

lol, you're lucky. In the UK, you walk into a hobby store and start talking about brushless, they think you've gone absolutely mad. "Nitro is waaaayyyyy faster than electric," etc etc......... .........Brushless has yet to hit the British shores......

Scott711 02.17.2006 07:19 PM

I think the helfire is an awesome looking truck and would make a rocket ship :p if converted to a brushless lipo beast. Check with Mike and see what kind of deal he can get you. I've not heard anything bad about it.

TBONES 02.17.2006 08:25 PM

Brushless?

Why is everyone saying brushless? Isnt nitro faster then brush?
I have a revo, so your saying a brushless revo can beat my nitro revo?

coolhandcountry 02.17.2006 08:54 PM

Yep that is what we saying. Brushless rules.

MetalMan 02.17.2006 09:56 PM

Undoubtedly. With nitro, you can get a larger engine or use higher % fuel, but with electric you can get more powerful motors/batteries, which easily makes electric (brushless) better.

boss 302 02.17.2006 10:58 PM

And you can get longer runtime with a good set of lipos.

maxxdude1234 02.18.2006 05:30 AM

Brushless has to be seen to be believed! Plus I think having one nitro and one brushless truck will be a nice combo.

maxxdude1234 02.18.2006 10:24 AM

to be honest, so was I....... :005:

Mike.L 02.18.2006 11:34 AM

im telling anyone who wants a hellfire that its a stock masterpeice. there might be some problems but for 600 $$U.S
then its great!!!:D:D

Mike.L 02.18.2006 11:42 AM

4 Attachment(s)

http://hpiracing.com/index2.htm
very neat justa stock masterpeice!

maxxdude1234 02.18.2006 11:54 AM

All the more reason to put brushless in it.... :D:D:D

Sylvester 02.18.2006 12:10 PM

If, some day i get enough money, i may be converting one of these in the future!!:D

captain harlock 02.18.2006 12:36 PM

Use a 2280/7 turn + 15036 combo with 10 lipos in this thing.

that would be insane

captain harlock 02.18.2006 12:43 PM

I know, however, I always like to give some crazy setups for those who need speeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeed. I dont know if HE needs speed, though.

boss 302 02.18.2006 12:51 PM

i dont know if the truck could handle those speeds

coolhandcountry 02.18.2006 01:45 PM

I was looking atthis truck it looks hype. I would like to get me one. I may post pics if do. I want another truck just don't know what kind yet.

squeeforever 02.18.2006 07:57 PM

coolhand, have you thought about the lightning stadium pro-r? that with a bpp cnc'd chassis (if you plan on going brushless) would kick ass. thats what i intend to do to mine if i like how it handles on the track.`

coolhandcountry 02.18.2006 08:31 PM

I was thinking of running it nitro. I like the way the .28 hpi motor runs. I would change over to brushless later.

RC-Monster Mike 02.23.2006 11:16 AM

Of course I can get these for those that are interested. The Hellfire seems to be among the best of the truggies, actually. It is a well put together machine.

hahahahahahaha couldn't have said it better myself. My LHS has had a few go through and its impressive looking

coolhandcountry 02.23.2006 09:30 PM

Has any one on here had experence on running one. I am curious if they are as good as they look.

crazyjr 02.23.2006 09:50 PM

Haven't seen one run yet, but there are at least 5 in my area so i'll get a chance eventually

MetalMan 02.23.2006 09:59 PM

I saw one running at my the new local track, and it handled very well (it's a pretty rough track). The guy was almost clearing a large triple that the 1/8 nitro buggies didn't even attempt (but my electric 1/8 buggy cleared it ;)). The only bad thing I noticed about it is that the guy landed on the wing, and snapped the wing mounts off the shock tower. If I remember correctly, it didn't even seem to be a very harsh landing (I've done worse with my buggy).

coolhandcountry 02.23.2006 10:04 PM

You think it may have a weak wing mount. Maybe that was not the first time though. Hmmm. It makes me wonder. I could convert it to brushless. Then it would clear that triple to like you metal man.

MetalMan 02.23.2006 10:12 PM

Of course it would :). Nitro just can't match the immediate acceleration of brushless...

squeeforever 02.24.2006 12:10 AM

i personally think the lightning stadium pro-r is among the best there is.

Sneeck 02.24.2006 02:00 AM

http://video.google.com/videoplay?do...341&q=hellfire

Handles like crap and the motor doesn't sound to good.

Ofcourse that's just a matter of tuning. As it is now I think the hellfire is a bit overpriced. We'll see how it does, just like the crt when it first came out.

A guy here did the same thing with the wing mounts on a jammin truggy.

Sneek. It seemed to run ok, maybe a little rich( by the smoke), but i'm not an expert I saw some tire growth so it wasn't far off

HotnCold 02.24.2006 05:54 AM

I agree - seemed a little rich - but its hard to tell with that rough azz track - thats their test track - not too impressive of a track IMO...

boss 302 02.24.2006 07:58 AM

it was definately running a little bit rich and the track looked horrible imo

coolhandcountry 02.24.2006 10:32 AM

It was a touch rich. I had the same problem with savage. I think it don't look bad. I think it would have did better with a thicker oil in the center diff.
The track did look rough. I would be more impressive with a brushless.

Whats this BPP chassis you are talking about? Is that BombProof Products? Or links?
