Very nice looking. Is that all custom work, or did you buy it from somewhere?

boss 302 02.19.2006 05:08 PM

What size motor does it use?

joostin420 02.19.2006 05:20 PM

thanx.

all custom work. the motor is a Nemisis 12s, and going to be running 12cells.

MetalMan 02.20.2006 12:15 AM

What's the wheelbase on this one?

Instead of 12 cells, how about 4s Lipo?

Dafni 02.20.2006 03:33 AM

You want pics of me? :P I will spare you! LOL

Boss posted a link to one of my trucks, here's another one:

Sorry, I thought you were familiar with him and his trucks:013: :dft001:

Sylvester 02.22.2006 08:14 PM

If he did know him, he would agree! :D

joostin420 02.28.2006 04:23 PM

okay...... so now i am going to say it is an 1/8 scale 2WD buggy, and i dont think that anyone will disagree with me. so now everyone give me your opinions. it will look a million times better once painted, but i couldnt wait to take pics (not to mention it wont be painted till temps arent below zero).

1. modified and mounted Pro-Line 1/8 Crowd Pleazer MBX-5 Body.

2. removed the 2.2 G-hawg wheel/tire setup.

3. mounted stampede-to-maxx wheel adapters, and mounted the Proline Maxx offset dish wheels and Kamodo Dragon tires (which were supposed to be for my FLM Rustler).

Dafni 02.28.2006 04:53 PM

Niiiice! :004: I love it, Justin! Very nice work.
Maybe you want to try some 1/8 buggy wheels some day.

If I look at it, and then at my BL MBX5, it's really like a buggy. You can really call it a 2wd 1/8.
The thing that will give it away will be the motor in the rear. But who cares, it's a custom 2wd! And it's a beauty!

maxxdude1234 02.28.2006 04:56 PM

Really loving your work Joostin!!!! :004: :004: :004:

Serum 02.28.2006 04:57 PM

I'm speechless Justin!

it simple is beautiful!

Where o where did you get that shiny CF from?

Did you changed anything on the foam inside that komodo's?

joostin420 02.28.2006 05:35 PM

thanx guys :027:

the CF comes from http://www.dragonplate.com

i have found that the Dragon Plate is stronger, and easier to cut with a scroll saw than other CF - it is glossy finished on one side.

no i didnt change the foam inserts on the komodos. should i, because they seem okay to me??

does anyone have any thoughts on what i could use as an undertray, and if i should even use one? i may just use a thin piece of lexan.

justin

Serum 02.28.2006 05:47 PM

I think you will find your answer in a .5mm thick lexan transparent plate. light and protective.

Did you ever tried CF from these guys?

joostin420 02.28.2006 07:47 PM

i have not tried their CF, but i would imagine it will be very hard to cut. i have tried 2 other brands of CF and they are much harder to cut straight lines with a scroll saw.

It is hard to cut, went through 2 new blades cutting one chassis.

joostin420 03.01.2006 11:13 AM

wow, i went through more than that on other CF. to do the whole rustler-buggy chassis i went through probably 16-20 blades +.

justin

maxxdude1234 03.01.2006 01:32 PM

Was milling not an option?

joostin420 03.01.2006 05:48 PM

i have no milling machine at my disposal, but i do have a contact that i am trying to work out a deal with to see if he can laser-cut chassis's for me. we are going to see if this method will cut cleanly without damaging the CF.

justin

Serum 03.01.2006 05:54 PM

isn't waterjet the best way?

let me know if lasering is an option, but isn't the large amount of graphite a pita to laser?

joostin420 03.03.2006 08:30 AM

i will let you know what happens with the laser.

i am trying to decide which controller i am going to use on this buggy. i have a Schulze 12.97 and a schulze 18.97KWF. right now the schulze 12.97 w/ a hacker 8L on 12cells is in my TXT-1 and the controller gets pretty warm without a fan.

i know the schulze 12.97 has BEC but i dont use it in my TXT-1 because i run 4ws with 2x high-torque servos. my question is should i use the 12.97 in the buggy with the Nemisis 12s, and will i be able to use the BEC with one steering servo? i had originally planned on using the 18.97KWF in the buggy, but i think that it would be better suited in the TXT-1.
