Did you already try it ?

Castle Link:
  • Bug preventing some nationalities from being able to run Castle Link correctly has been fixed
  • No longer have to 'Run as Administrator' to store your default motor-pole / gear ratio setup

Castle Link Graph Viewer:
  • Added ability to display temperature in degrees C or degrees F
  • Added ability display actual head-speed or prop-speed by entering the gear ratio
  • Removed menu items to select individual data-curves, instead simply click on the label below the graph
  • Added a 'How To' help menu option
  • No longer have to 'Run as Administrator' to change your motor-pole / gear ratio or temperature setup

Ooh cool. Going to update now.

mistercrash 10.11.2009 12:03 PM

I installed it on my computer and updated my ESC but I haven't tried it yet. I'm recharging a couple set of batteries right now.

Thanks,I got it 2 days ago.I should have posted it then. Or maybe they could send a automatic e-mail to people in there database to let us all know. But hey Im not complaining

SunnyHouTX 10.11.2009 12:36 PM

The change I like the most is that you can now program the Mamba Max via receiver cable like the Sidewinder. So now I don't have to dig my ESCs out of my drag cars every time I need to change the tune. Very convenient for me. Thanks Castle!

Here's my full review on the new software:

I tried it and it works.

Hey that's as technical as I can get with the knowledge I have.

Arct1k 10.11.2009 03:48 PM

wow..

Mamba Max:
Added ability to program Mamba Max via the receiver cable with a Castle-Link device (instead of being required to plug the unit into a USB port)

BUT IS THE DRAG BREAK FIXED?

brushlessboy16 10.11.2009 04:48 PM

New software runs 4s fine :)

Freezebyte 10.11.2009 07:00 PM

Darn, no ability to change fan temp adjustment. And what and where is this temperature thing? And whats wrong with the drag brake? I've never had an issue with it

Arct1k 10.11.2009 07:32 PM

Drag brake sucks for rock crawlers - Brushed thing...

Eh don't follow - On a crawler you need and run with 100% drag break...

I guess im confused now also. What exactly is broken according to you on the MMM?

Finnster 10.11.2009 11:15 PM

You want the drag brake to fully engage off throttle if you are crawling to hold you where you are. You don't want to go rolling away.

Oooooohhhhh

Arct1k 10.12.2009 12:38 PM

Drag brakes Patrick - Did it make the new version?

TexasSP 10.12.2009 01:43 PM

A good drag brake makes or brakes a crawling ESC for sure. Thanks for the castle link update so I don't hve to pull my ESC out anymore.

brushlessboy16 10.12.2009 02:01 PM

I like the usb feature.. just put the esc in a place where you can access it

The Mamba Max not the Mamba Monster has a mini USB port on the side of it, No castle link was needed.

Finnster 10.12.2009 05:27 PM

I've had my MM in about 5 different cars, and only in one of them was I ever to place it where I could get to the port. The update will be welcome.

OTOH, I want to trade it in for a MMP. :)

etc1006 10.12.2009 07:07 PM

Did the change to the MM allow it to work w/ Vista 64 bit? I did hear they were trying to do something throught the chip instead of the USB for 64 bit. If not seems like a waste of time to me.

Arct1k 10.12.2009 08:53 PM

It works on Vista 64! i've done it!

You have to flash the MM on XP or vista 32 first - then you are good via castle link - YAY

etc1006 10.13.2009 08:30 PM

Flash? I did use my ex's laptop that had xp to upgrade/program it earlier in the summer. But I'm not getting any response using my 64 bit desktop. It sees the usb connection but not the esc. Still tells you to use the usb in the mm.

Odd, mines worked on 64 bit Vista since day one.

Freeze - you have a MMM I'm talking about the MM

etc1006 10.14.2009 10:36 PM

I did the last upgrade on the laptop. But I guess I'm gonna have to wait til I get my netbook in Dec, it'll have XP... I have 3 Mamba 25s, MM, and a MMM. I did upgrade the MMM eventhough I'm not using it yet.
