g3r chassis group buy
Okay as the title says i want to approach gorillamax to do a run of the g3r chassis in ,metal and carbonfibre.
I personally want one of each and i'm keen to see if we can get enough interest whether we can get a run going and a decent price. So post up your interest. |
Depending on the Price, I would want one.
CF please! |
can't believe no one else has said they are interestred yet- this will tkae a few of us before they'd be interested in doing a run i'd say.
Guess it also depends on what sort of cnc they use and how quick it is to change programs and and set ups too. |
My problem is if we did this, it'd take another buy-in to make replacement parts. Don't get me wrong, I have and love my G2R, but if gorilla is not going to have a standing inventory, why support them with a buy in on a chassis not supported. I myself am looking at other options, either the kershaw or making my own based off the Mini revo chassis in the brushless section (forgot the name of the guy that did it). I hope that gorilla can make a G4 based chassis for the revo, but i'm not holding my breath on even a limited run
Count me in! Might want CF depending on pricing.
going to need at least 20 i'd say before they'd want to do a run, but entirely up to them
I'm in! I want both types! Now!
New here and I would be in! May even want two!!
I'm in for CF...but...
Guys,
I tried contacting George about doing this way back at the beginning of the year. Asked about even having the designs sent to Penguin R/C who could cut the chassis without having to release the "plans" to the public, but never got word one back on it. If you can get George to release the plans or even do another cut, you'd be a hero. |
Depending on pricing I would want one
guys i'm still not getting any replies but i'm keen to keep pushing with this cause for everyone who hs said they're interested i know there's at least one more watching this thread, or, is interested.
I would be in in a metal one, and depending on price maybe step up to carbon fiber.
It would be nice to be able to get spares, for the G3R
Going to try again guys.
Well looks like nearly 7 units just from myself and my friends the problem after that is getting them to do a run and/or releasing the plans for a run + everyone else on here who is interested.
Not sure on what is their viable number for a run or not though. |
Here's my reply from gorillamaxx-
Hello Michael, Thank you for your comments. We thought long and hard about discontinuing the G3R series. The dramatic drop in sales when Traxxas released the E-Revo, put the nail in that coffin. I would run a batch, but it takes more than a dozen to justify set-up costs; and that particular kit included several parts from out-of-house vendors. Unfortunately, some of these vendors did not survive the recession. We had to streamline our product line just to stay viable. At this point we are hoping for a better year in 2010 and with that will come additional new products. Thanks for your support, George Vangelatos |
aww, that sucks!
Seems like I have to design a g-maxx-style chassis my self. If I only had the correct measurements especially for the front and rear connection to the bulkheads... |
Shazam!
That doesn't sound promising. I hope 2010 is better as well. |
any hope remaining?
See mike ;)
Well I would still be interested, but I don't think gorillamaxx will run another batch because there is still the problem with to few people wanting one...
mike had most of the design done for a chassis - if there was interest he could do a batch but guessing it would be after his move
Well, if Mike would in fact manufactur a own version of the G3R, he could put in the holes needed for the CD/motor mount right from the start...
I would love to get one of those, especially if he was to make a CF-version. |

Given how Kershaw has his own erevo and emaxx chassis designs ( however mechano-like they happen to be ), Im suprized Mike hasnt come out with his own maxx and revo designs- would complement all the other chassis/ conversion kits he sells. Even more so if they come setup to use either a tranny or the slipperential & a mount- that would allow alot of personalisation without any modding required ( it amazes me how the thought of having to drill 4 holes fills so many people with such a sense of dread and fear... ).
i would love a reeve one!!!
Danny |
revo**
what is it about the 3GR that you folks like? Is it the suspension? Would a Truggy-style truck with a Revo suspension be what all you guys want? Would be sweet!!
I think it pretty much is that yeah, a nice low slung symmetrical chassis with revo suspension- brilliant at racing and ideal for high-speed stuff.

This is exciting.
Let the buy list begin:
1. RESPIRO |
A Monster Mike chassis for Revo. Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy! I'll take two.
I think I'd be willing to get one of these too. Put me on the list.
I'll add it to my list of things to chat to mike and jamie about
I'll take one of those also!
I probably would too, but only if there is a set of revo v2 hybrid diffs available with it.
I`m surprised they don`t bring back the G3r chassis. With the summit and E-revo theirs a ton more revo parts out their and I seen alot people hacking up the stock chassis to fit large batteries in their. Also people buy the Kershaw Design and find out it`s more of a pretzel then a aftermarket option.
I sent Mike a PM as well on this chassis. I know he's moving though.
So Chris, how did the chat with Mike and Jamie go?
