Pic of 6 Screws in shoulder

Here's the pic of the 6 screws put into my shoulder. A bit uncomfortable. I'm not taking any meds anymore, except over the counter tylenol. I kept having these weird dreams and whatnot.

No pain meds, Wow ! You musta had a good surgeon.
Whats the dot between the 2 screws in the middle, JB Weld ?
Of course you know we want to see the cut and stitches.
Glad it went well, heal fast.

Glad everything went well for you..

snellemin 10.25.2009 09:22 PM

The surgeon dude is good and I got to ask him about the JB Weld fix. I'll get to see cut soon enough.

nitrostarter 10.25.2009 09:28 PM

Looks pretty good there!!! Would love to see the cut tho...

God speed on the recovery!

NAH that is one of the extra parts they throw in for free. It's probably one of the doctors fillings that fell out during surgery. Good luck with therapy man.

Here's the scar. I'm even more mobile now. Was able to make breakfast this morning.

Nice! Man you should be back to normal sooner than you were thinking. I can still take care of some of those R/C's for you...

Rivermaxx 10.26.2009 06:18 PM

I separated my shoulder and I couldnt move it for a week. I cant imagine how much pain your in. Happy healing.

JERRY2KONE 10.26.2009 06:24 PM

Just think.

Just think later once it is all healed up, if you ever run short of hardware on your R/C's you will always have spares on you to rememdy the situation.

jayjay283 10.26.2009 06:31 PM

Thats sweet, know what you mean about the opiate nightmares, I woud wake up punching the bed thinking I was fighting someone, then 2 days later you can't poo. Don't see how those kids get addicted to that crap. Nice scar, I know where to karate chop you now

Thats a great point. I had not even thought of that one. Titanium hardware is always a plus to have on hand. What a lucky guy. How did you break your collar bone in the first place Snellemin? And how in the world did they not get the repair correct in the first try? Or was that because you were not following your doctors advice? Just curious...

snellemin 10.26.2009 07:23 PM

I fell of my Sector 9 Bamboo skateboard. I usually run it off or roll it out. But I didn't roll fast enough before I hit the concrete road. I hit a rock or something and my skateboard just stopped and I flew off it. Here's the thread I had before--http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/showthread.php?t=24065

I have plenty of spare parts now.

mistercrash 10.27.2009 12:21 PM

Titanium hop ups should be on your RCs, not yourself.

I hope the pain and discomfort go away very soon for you. I had a lot of screws and a bar put in my ankle when I broke it. I can relate with your pain there bud. The screws I had were on either side of my ankle right under the skin, I could feel them. I banged the side of my ankle on a concrete pillar after wards building a deck and it broke the skin, exposing part of a screw head. It grossed me out so a few weeks after, I went under the knife again to have this hardware taken out.

snellemin 10.27.2009 01:25 PM

Did you at least get to keep the hardware when they took it out?

I still have one screw in my right ankle. I use to have two, but they took one out back in '95. If I remember correctly, the doctor charged my insurance 10G to take it out and it only took 15 minutes. I have one rod and 3 screws in my left femur still. Fun times when the weather gets cold. I had busted up my bottom lip once and had it stitch back together. It was cut in two piece and just hung down. Not to long ago I took a fatty mass out of the back of my neck and I'm still paying for that one. My Health insurance sucks and good coverance is unaffordable.

It's because of Asshole Dr's like him chargeing $$ like that to the Insurance Co's is why normal hard working guys like us all can't afford the better Health insurance. That pisses me off .

They have to charge so much because assholes like to sue doctors over anything and everything so the insurance companies (which never lose money, they are only in business to screw people out of money) raise their insurance rates way high. Doctors have to charge so much in order to pay their insurance...and their massive student loan debt for those whose parents didn't pay for their education.

snellemin 11.06.2009 01:52 AM

Went to the doctor dude again today. I actually have 7 screws in my shoulder. That JB weld spot is actually another screw. I don't need the sling anymore, but no heavy lifting for next 6 weeks.
