3100kv on 4s

I upgraded the battery and body of my Super RS-4 and cannot wait to see it go. I changed the boby to a parma wedge and I am now running 4s. The wheels up 4s bench test was night and day over the 3s. I feel the foams that are there now...will not last for much longer.

Upgrading to a higher cell count usually means more care is needed for your tires

Big House 11.20.2009 08:21 PM

I totally agree. The 3s is killing them so I know the 4s is going to be murder. I have another set on order as well as I am going to try slicks again with the new body. Down force makes an incredible difference.

Pardon me, but what's the difference???

Should be fun to watch if nothing else...

Big House 11.24.2009 08:35 PM

The difference....

Is 4.2 more volts to the motor totaling more than 12000 RPM to the motor.:yipi::yipi:

The first dry day it is going out.

Killing applies to anything. Generally murder only applies to humans.

Finally a video of this conversion

Here are a few runs of my Converted Super Nitro RS4. Had to switch from the road to the parking lot. I live on a military base so I am not sure how much the SP's would like me running up and down an active street. Not sure how fast but better than 60 easy.

What were those sparks from in the second video? :oh:

Damn that's quick... looking good..

It looks like the screws under the chassis were dragged across the asphalt as it grounded out on the bumps...

Big House 09.21.2010 09:57 PM

Sparks...

Yep...that is exactly it. The Parma wedge body really creates some serious down force. The lower chassis is carbon fiber and is holding up well...but the rear bulkhead screws are taking a beating. I would love to get hold to a Mamba pro and run this thing with 5s but I don't think the Medusa would like that much.

I ran a medusa 5900 in a ta05 on 4s without issue, 3100 on 5s will be fine :intello:

If I do the math right...at a near full charge of 4 volts per cell times 4 = 16 volts times 5900kv...that is an astronomical 94K rpm....that is just plain incredible...a 3100 on 5s is 65K...I think that is doable. It is fast now...could not imagine another 15K in RPM speed.

DCastaneda 09.27.2010 09:55 PM

As a rule of thumb I use 3.7v per cell and calculate another 20-25% for the medusa motors.

Updated...3100 on 6s

3 Attachment(s)
4s was not enough. I upgraded the Super Rs4 to run 6s. Using a Mamba Max Pro and 2 3s battery packed I modified my already fast rocket into something all together faster, quicker and extremely more fun. Here are a few upgrade pics and the 6s bench test. The rear wheel did not fair so well.

At least everything looks well-balanced. Good luck finding traction with that much power. It'll be fun either way.

The issue I am worried about is room to open it up. I am using a Motonica GT body. Looking at the form of it, it should provide a decent amount of downforce. I wanted something different than trying to adapt a wedge body to the chassis. I am looking for a newly paved road somewhere to make it happen.

Big House 07.27.2011 06:40 PM

Incredible power....

Faster than I know what to do with. This car on 6s is completely un-drivable...for now...First things first...new fan for the MMP and a fan for the Medusa. I have to modify the body. The wheels generate a suction force that pulls the rear onto the wheels.

ANGRY-ALIEN 07.28.2011 09:45 AM

Vids!!!

bruce750i 07.28.2011 10:26 AM

I bet it sounds like a dremel tool on wheels doing 80mph.

Big House 02.11.2012 12:03 AM

Updated...a little

After removing a large chunk of wheel out of the rear tire I replaced them as well as the busted front one way. Putting power to all the wheels again and running 4s nano techs, this thing is a rocket. I am waiting on the first nice day to run a full 6s pass. I hope to have it shatter the 100 mph mark with a lot left to go.

Becareful, as she is going to scream... You may hear some funny sounds coming from the motor, similar to when you put pop rocks in your mouth. That's what happend to my motor when I ran it at over 100,000 rpm. :mdr:
