http://videos.streetfire.net/hottest...2755352829.htm

I was going to put this in the vid section - but not too many people look there - too good to pass up - LOL

boss 302 02.28.2006 09:44 PM

thats gotta hurt but it is funny

coolhandcountry 02.28.2006 09:47 PM

That looks like it would leave a mark to. I thought it was bad with one to the ankle.

Sylvester 02.28.2006 09:48 PM

LOL, thats girl really got what was coming to her! Wasnt that bad though!

Scott711 02.28.2006 10:40 PM

It is only funny because she was able to duck out of the way and take it on the shoulder. If she had taken a direct shot in the nose or mouth and had to make a trip to the emergency room It would not have been anything to laugh at.
It's hard to tell if that is a BMX bike track or RC or multi use but there's a lesson here and that's responsibility. Just like boating power vehicles yield the right of way to non-powered. This is a bit of a sensitive subject because a while back I caught a couple of older teens harassing younger kids at the BMX track with their gas buggies. They basically ran them off the track and told them to stay off while they were racing. Now the BMX club who maintains the track has banned RC vehicles from the track. Unfortunately it only takes a couple of bad apples to ruin it for everyone. I almost always have kids around when I'm running my truck, it just attracts them but I'm always careful and if I need too I explain to the younger ones that this truck will hurt them really bad if it hits them and ask them to stay by me or in a safe spot while it's running.

There I feel better now. :027:

squeeforever 02.28.2006 11:13 PM

i havent seen the video but i was almost taken out my a runaway buggy at a race a few months back. im sure it would have broken my leg or knee if i hadnt jumped. it was on the back straight with a tripple. it cleared the double and hit the single and came right at me full speed (right after the tripple theres a left into a u turn to a right to finish off the back straigh). luckily i saw it just in time!

coolhandcountry 03.01.2006 08:44 AM

Yeah there is some safety factors you have to add in while driving. I have ran into myself. It happens but just don't want it to. That sucks scott that you can't run on the track now for some poot heads. I wonder what they think of not playing on the track now.

Good points. No matter what type of track it is, if everyone respected every one else, it wouldn't be a problem. At the very least, they should only allow the track to go in one direction.

dabid 03.01.2006 03:16 PM

It doesn't take a big car to leave a mark either, I had a HPI RS4 Rally that I dropped a Epic quad mag. 11x1 in (when they first came out) and was testing it out next to my house. I was hitting at least 35 or so, and this one mentally handicapped guy that lives at a house across the street came out to watch........he wasn't really paying attention to where the car was going and it slammed into his bare foot. It hit hard enough to leave a couple little cuts, from the front body clips (was running it without the body), and popped off a ball link. He was super apologetic and thought he killed my car, I was more worried about hitting his foot!

boss 302 03.01.2006 04:18 PM

i have hit myself a few times and hit brother a few times but all that happens at one tim or another.

RC addiction 03.01.2006 07:11 PM

I think you need to get out more.

would you find it so funny if it happened to you??

HotnCold 03.01.2006 09:30 PM

yea - i mean that must of been a total surprise - i mean it wasnt like she was riding her bike in a place where rc cars were flying all around her - and on a huge jump that a 12 lb rc-truck just launched off the other direction - i mean who would of thought that was a bad choice to ride up a jump that you couldnt see the other side of. Man what a coincedence - i mean really - could you imagine the chances of getting hit by a rc-car, riding your bicycle on a rc-car jump. The odds are staggering ..... I mean imagine what would of happened if she had a brain in her head....

WOW HNC, far be it for me to tell people what's funny and what's not but "She had it coming?" "Imagine if she had a brain?" Very irresponsible comments, especially coming from someone who's a mod for the forum. First off, judging by the size of the double jump and the park like setting I would bet this is a track made for bikes not RC cars. Now, lets review, the truck goes over the jump and out of her view, she probable assumes the truck has stopped or continued on. But no, the driver pulls a u-turn and heads back in the direction he just came from. The girl has no way of knowing that the truck is coming back. While the driver on the other hand has a clear view of her, all he needed to do was pay attention and look where he was going.

Yes, we are all able to have a chuckle this time but a 12 lb anything going 30 mph is very dangerous and the person driving it needs to realize the damage he/she could do by hitting someone or thing. The point I'm trying to make is be careful and use good judgement when using our trucks/cars around others and try to be good ambassadors for our hobby.:027: I hope the driver apologized because it was their fault NOT HERS.

And I would also like to add that RC vehicles do not have the right of way in a public park.

cabking 03.02.2006 06:11 AM

I gotta agree with you here,
I am the chairman for our local RC club, before we had a purpose built track, we would meet in parks, BMX tracks and the like.
BMX bikes/ dog walkers ,etc were a constant hazard (obviously) and had to be given the right of way every time.
Had we had an incident like this (accidents don’t happen anymore, its always an incident with someone to blame)
The likelihood of the club, or me personally being sued would have been very high, It would have finished the club before we had even started.
Its easy to laugh at the ‘silly Girl’ and blame her for not looking were she was going, but
Who’s fault it was would be largely irrelevant , as the law would be on the side of a cyclist over a ic powered RC Truck in a public park..

I must be honest and say when I first saw this clip about a year ago, I thought that it was side splitting funny, its only now with a bit of responsibility to my name , I see it for what it is.

Don’t get me wrong I haven’t had my sense of humour removed, infact we have a funny vid clip of a club member hitting HIMSELF in the head with a hyper 7, while jumping a table top. :005: :032:
That is funny because he did it to himself, not to someone else.

You just get the feeling in this vid its more about intimidation than anything else.

Anyway, rant over as I am starting to sound like my Dad :010:

RC addiction 03.02.2006 06:28 AM

that's true its always funny when it happens to someone else, not so if it was you

coolhandcountry 03.02.2006 07:18 AM

I would like to see that video of the guy hitting himself. I think that would be a good laugh.

HotnCold 03.02.2006 07:24 AM

Scott - Yea -i guess if you look at it that way - you have a point - i mean if it was a place not designated for rc cars and they were driving there anyway - then - well they should not have been running there. However, put yourself in the bicyclists shoes - it appears to be a park like setting and even seems to be a track for bicycles. ( upon further inspection ) - i just watched the video for what it was - not for analyzation of who was right and who was wrong for using the track. The beginning of the taping and the rest of the taping that was edited and is not known to any of us. Its kind of hard to me to believe that this is the first time that rc-car had hit that jump - and it is also hard for me to grasp that the person on the bike was totally taken by surprise for a rc-car to be jumping that jump - Im not saying that the rc driver wasnt wrong for running in a public place, he was - but look - If it was me riding the bike and there were cars ripping back and forth on this track - I wouldnt have the * Well im supposed to ride here and they are not so im going to drive here regardless * attitude. I would have ridden 50 yards away with the other bicyclists until the cars were done. It may not have been fair to the biker but what is the other choice - well you saw what it was...( And we all know - since we all run these things that sometimes, when your looking at your car, especially when there is a jump or technical section coming, the reprocussions are sometimes overlooked. And sometimes people cant look 30 foot ahead for the possibility that something is in the way. Otherwise there would be no accidental " I hit that tree or ran into that pipe " ) accidents. There is another bike riding in the background and going over some nice size jumps and there do not seem to be any cars annoying or buzzing around him. Maybe the girl was going to hit the double - what do i know - but it seems that it was a huge track, and for her to be harrased at one end by a car and then say "the heck with it im going anyway" seems like a bad judgement call. She HAD the right to be on the track but did she do the right thing by refusing to stop tll the cars were done or broke? You tell me. Its like walking across the street at the crosswalk without looking to me. Do I hope she was hurt? - absolutely not - Im just the type of person who chose to see the humor in a situation and leave it at that. It is definately wrong for the rc- cars to be on the track, And i hope that the girl was not seriously hurt by the accident. Moderator or not - i still took it for what it was.. sorry if it offended you or any other person - im done for now " say goodbe to the bad guy....

I totally agree with that one chc - :005:

coolhandcountry 03.02.2006 07:35 AM

Well i see your point hnc. Never said it won't funny but it could have been much worse. Just think though alot of younger kids don't use the best judgement. I sure know I didn't. I think the guy with hyper 7 to the head would be funnier to me. :D

HotnCold 03.02.2006 08:02 AM

I agree - it could of been a lot worse - it was simply put there for what it was - nothing else - Once again, sorry to offend anyone. BTW my wife always tells me that im irresponsible - guess this proves her right.....

RC-Monster Mike 03.02.2006 09:53 AM

I guess this topic went a little sideways. I thought it was pretty funny when I saw it as well. Of course, I think it is pretty safe to say we all know it is an unfortunate accident when something like this happens, but HNC saw the humor and posted it. I don't think it was "irresponsible" to make the post for what it was. Heck, the topic of the post is "Do NOt Do This". I think that pretty much takes the irresponsible out of the equation. The rest of the discussion is just that - humorous discussion around the video posted. I know HNC pretty well, and I can tell you he is a pretty darn responsible guy - he has two beautiful little girls that rule his world and he is VERY aware of safety procedures. I think it was just a funny video. Nothing more. :)

i agree with mike the title does say all you need to know and it is good that hnc saw the humor in it and decided to post it. i think it was a learning expirience for both the girl and the driver of the buggy and doubt that either one will make the same mistake again.

I just wanted to clarify that I was not offended by the posting of the video. It was the comment that "she had it coming" and "If she had a brain" that lit my fuse. I'm sure HNC meant no malice in his comment and it was just an off the cuff response to a teenager not using good judgment. Its been my experience that kids and teens do the most unpredictable things for reasons that make no sense sometimes. But I don't think anyone ever "has it coming" just because they are enjoying a day at the park.

Anyways enough of this bickering I'm ready to move on to funner things. No hard feelings on my end, I just felt a need to voice my opinion. :003:

The guy probably did it on purpose. You can see in the video the rc gets in her way and she turns around and bitches.....

How could he of not seen her coming.... I think he did and didn't care.

I personally wouldn't of done that... now with that being said.. I too think the video is hilarious.. and had to watch it over and over numorous times. heh.. plus I seen this same video like a yr ago and watched it a bunch of times then too. :)

HotnCold 03.04.2006 07:23 AM

After watching it again - it does seem that she is screaming at the guy when he is buzzing around her feet... Gives rc-cars a bad name doing cra* like that...:017:

Mike.L 03.04.2006 08:47 AM

i feel more sorry for the truck!
