Share your Black Friday Scores!

I sadly didn't get anything......

All I want, is to invisibleSHIELD (Zagg.com) to drop, significantly so I can pick up a new iTouch Full Body Cover, and for eBay to drop their prices on a iPod Touch 2nd Gen Glass Digitizer, and I'll be happy.

I do know a friend who got to Staples quite late, and scored a nice laptop for about $300.....

Semi Pro 11.27.2009 01:08 PM

Wow, those are some good prices!

gixxer 11.27.2009 01:11 PM

I wasn't going to stand in line all night to try and get the great deals. I did go to walmart and target around 10am. Target was out of all the specials on tvs that I was interested in. So I went over to walmart. The cheapest ones were gone and they said people stood there all night with them in there cart till 5am to get the special.

I did end up getting a blueray player for $78(really didn't need it but I guess now the playstation can actually be used for games), and a sony bravia 32" $378(not nearly as cheap as the early bird specials but a better tv.

Bondonutz 11.27.2009 01:24 PM

I scored a NIB SC10 kit delivered for 159.99 on FleaBay ! ! ! ! !:yipi::yipi:

My Xmas present to myself, I have no children and a very small family so I can spoil myself a bit.

FG101C 11.27.2009 02:18 PM

lincpimp 11.27.2009 06:09 PM

HAHAHA

I picked up a Browning BDM 9mm and a SW 38spl for about 500 bucks... Not bad, as the SW must be worth at least 600 bucks, it is an early model 15 nickel in great shape. Not sure why I bought ANOTHER 9mm (must have 12 now).

Also bought a 1717 from CC, my xmas gift to me! Sent the wife out to get me a metal chop saw... Thats her gift to me, I get to buy her a good camera.

Metallover 11.27.2009 06:27 PM

I spent thanksgiving at my cousins house. We played 'water' pong until 2 then slept for a couple hours and headed out to best buy at 4:30am. Walmart and Sams Club parking lots were overflowing and so was best buy. We went to best buy. They used plasmas to make walls in all the aisles so people wouldn't cut in line. The checkout line snaked its way to the opposite corner of the store. We were looking for stuff, but if we stopped we just got pushed along. We ended up getting one Forrest Gump DVD for regular price. We had to stand in line for 45+min to check out.

All in all it was worth it.

BP-Revo 11.27.2009 08:03 PM

I had to do all my shopping online since I'm up in our Condo.

No RC scores since I haven't touched them in a while, so I don't really need anything.

However, I did pick up up these Blurays:

V for Vendetta for $8
Disney Pixar's UP for $15
Disney Pixar's Cars for $5
X-Men Origins Wolverine for $10
Pearl Harbor for $14

Also got Call of Duty: World at War for PS3 for $20. Price dropped from $57 to $40 and I had a $20 promotional credit.

And in the process of all that, I got another $5 credit toward some on demand TV views. Yay for Amazon.com.

mopar1994 11.27.2009 08:40 PM

i got a 9x11in sheet of carbon fiber thats 3mm thick from fullforcerc.com for 34 bucks

Cold saw? Or an abrasive chop saw?

Closest I got to the crummy mall was dropping my daughter off for work this afternoon - I absolutely despise going to the mall areas at this time of year. Cant stand the traffic, or the people and their attitudes.
How many people use Black Friday to buy x-mas gifts for their family, as opposed to buying things for themselves.

Oh, and still on my soap box here....wont by anything from BestBuy, no matter what the price.

jayjay283 11.27.2009 10:49 PM

I woke up with a hangover around 9:30 house full of retards who dont pay rent and eat me out of house and home for 3 days. Why no school ? So I drive to Walmart to check out that 50" $500 LDC TV. I saw the parking lot full of scum that should be in the welfare line and went home and cracked a hair of the dog. Id rather pay and extra $200 than stand inline for an hour with that crap

Std 14" abrasive saw, nothing special. Most likely get the dewalt 200 buck model as it has a cast base and looks slighly better built than the other crap I have seen. Seems like the 50 dollar difference is worth it?! I have had good success with dewalt and milwaukee, figure most of the tolls will last a lifetime as much as I use them.

FastXR 11.28.2009 12:14 AM

I picked up a Hot Bodies Ve8 on A-main for 10% off and got a free t-shirt too, nothing to write home about discount wise, but hey something is better than nothing and I was gonna buy it anyway at the regular price. LOL

I was hoping a-main would have the kyosho sc listed so I could use that 10% code. Figure I am going to buy it anyways.

Actually my first Black Friday order was a gift for someone else.

What's wrong with Best Buy?

Also, to add to my list, I just helped my dad pick out a new HDTV and BluRay player. Picked up a Samsung LN52B750 (52" 1080P 240hz 2ms LCD) and a Samsung P3600 (Netflix Streaming Capable).

Could not have said it better myself.

To me, they expemplify all that is wrong with US corporate america. They bought out our best local HI FI shops that had been around forever (Magnolia Hi FI) then shut down most of them. So now insted of being able to go talk to someone that really knew thier stuff, you get a pimple faced 18 year old who has no idea what a tube amp is.
Then they burned me when HD got the axe. I had two brand new unopened HD movies, and I tried to take them back - but they would only let me exchange them for other HD movies.....

Freezebyte 11.28.2009 02:44 PM

I got a new copy of Left 4 Dead 2 for 360 for $17

That ain't the worst of it. There was a huge scandal a few years back where they were playing a bait-and-switch with the in-store kiosks showing higher prices than the internet site, even though they looked identical. And they've been known to willfully ignore consumer issues after the sale.

Best Buy will never get my business either....

nitrostarter 11.28.2009 05:25 PM

I bought 2 Ridgid Shop Vacs from Home Depot for $19.88 each, regular $99.99 each.
picked up some Dewalt drill and driver bits for 19.97 regular $49.
2 Stanley wide tape measures at buy one get one free.

Metallover 11.29.2009 04:41 PM

Were there any casualties this year? Last year 3 people died and several were seriously injured iirc...

one of my ex's worked for bestbuy and they do some shady things.

When someone goes to ask "Is the samsung or canon better?" The employees are TOLD to sell the one that makes the store more profit, not the one that is necessarily better. And if they are caught not making an effort to do so, they are penalized....i thought that was a load of CRAP

Not to mention i waited for 14 hours in line last year to get one of the 36 laptops they had. And bing 14th in line, i thought id get one. nope...somehow i didnt get one......fags....

my thanksgiving blackfriday is over:diablo:

What's wrong with Best Buy?

[QUOTE]

The AOL/Best Buy scam. They gave away so many free trials, but it was near impossible to cancel AOL. It took my mom 3 months of phone calls to cancel the "free trial" and they still tried charging her various fees. They were sued for hundreds of millions for that. Lawyers get richer.....

Their cable sales. $3 hdmi cables for $100 or more

Their warranties- pure garbage. If I'm buying a good product I shouldn't need this, and they wouldn't sell them unless they came out ahead.

And, when my mom called them out on an overcharge for her computer bundle, they told her they couldn't credit back her credit card(a standard chargeback) but only give her store credit.

Best Buy is for the masses not the educated.

eovnu87435ds 11.29.2009 08:39 PM

Best Buy... reminds me of another company that sells lipos...

anyways, I got a palm pre from walmart for $75, with a 2 yr contract extension, half off normal price. thats about it.

lincpimp 11.29.2009 09:22 PM

Not really black friday but I just stole (not literally) a S&W 686-6 357mag reveolver from some guy... He really wanted to trade for a rifle that I had... Nice gun too, 6" barrel, all stainless and factory ported. Factory houge grips.

Heres a pic (Rick Roll-Free link) http://sgcusa.com/images/large/S&W_Model_686PP_A.jpg

maxair45 11.29.2009 10:04 PM

I saw people in tents at noon the day before, ridiculous if you ask me. I didn't bother even trying to go out there. As jay said i'd rather pay full price than wait in the lines and see grown women fight over stuff they want.

BP-Revo 11.29.2009 10:45 PM

Hmm...those are some pretty intense Best Buy stories...

I'm not in love with Best Buy or anything, I was just curious as to what spawned so much negativity toward them.

Well, in any case, I generally already know what I want before I walk into the store and never fall for those expensive (and pointless) extended warranties. Stores are there to make profit and I always operate under the impression that they always try to sell me whatever makes them the most money, so in a way, none of those things seem really specific to Best Buy if you ask me.

All that aside, I still never end up buying squat at Best Buy because their stuff is usually at least 10% more than another retailer. I've had a gift card and best buy's prices are so high that usually it's cheaper to buy it from another store because I'll end up spending LESS out of pocket even though I have a gift card to best buy.

The last thing I bought at Best Buy was probably 5 years ago and it was candy...

Now I end up buying 99% of my things off Amazon.com. I have Prime (Free 2 Day shipping on almost everything) so with free shipping and no Tax, it's almost always the cheapest solution. And they have a simple, no BS return policy.

I only had one problem with them and it was when a BluRay Movie I ordered came with the case cracked/broken/crushed on one corner (since they shipped it in a bubble mailer). I called them up and they Next Day Air'd me a new one and emailed me a printable return label (via USPS so I could just leave it for my mailman) to send the other one back, so I didn't pay a penny extra.

_paralyzed_ 11.30.2009 07:07 AM

I'm lazy, I just e-bay everything

JoFreak 11.30.2009 07:48 AM

Don't know if this counts (not sure I got the black friday idea right, first time I heard of it) or if it's that a good deal anyway, but Neu-Castle 1518 1Y 1800kV for 158$ instead of 225$ :)

rabosi 11.30.2009 11:22 AM

I didn't score any actual black friday deals but did pick up the castle 1717 and the new star trek on blue ray for $20 over the last few days.
As for Best Buy, they are like any other store. You have to use price comparison and common sense when shopping. And for the record, Walmart has also done their part in driving local shops out of business.
Extended warranties and service contracts are not always bad. I had an RCA dlp tv that I purchased 4 yr warranty because reviews prior to buying seemed to indicate higher failure rate. It died in the 4th yr and I got a store credit for the entire intial cost ($1860). I was able to get a new samsung 50" 1080p plasma with 5 yr warranty for the $1860. This was from PCRichards not Best Buy btw.
