What shocks for a heavy monster truck?

My truck weighs 10 pounds with the batteries and the stock shocks simply can not hold it up even with spacers on them if i try to run it..........it will bottom out! After i add more battery cells it will be even heavier. Everything is heavy duty aluminum.

Proline powerstrokes!

I got this UE shocks, (and the powerstroke) and it will bottom out pretty easy with the UE's. The powerstrokes are superiour shocks.

THANK YOU! i've been saying that for months now and everybody still says the ue's are better! serum is right, the powerstrokes are better. especially for a heavier truck.

Serum 03.04.2006 12:21 PM

Don't get me wrong, UE's are topnotch.

This was about the bottoming out thing.

But i really love the powerstrokes! (they are just a tad heavier than i would have liked..)

LOL, i smell your enthusiasm Squee... :p

Dafni 03.04.2006 12:23 PM

Too bad Proline has discontinued them :012:

Serum 03.04.2006 12:29 PM

Yeah, i figured something like that....

All ebay auctions are gone..

maxxdude1234 03.04.2006 12:37 PM

I'm really regretting I didn't get a set when they were only $79.99 on ebay. Guess It'll have to settle for a set of 4 ue shocks....

coolhandcountry 03.04.2006 01:06 PM

I have a set of the ue and like them. You double up on the ue and it is like a cloud ride rc. How can you compare 4 shocks to 8 of the proline. I think that is wrong. That is like comparing a 8s to a 8xl.

Sneeck 03.04.2006 01:08 PM

Racer X shock's bottoming out? Need some adjusting i'd say.

But it is true that the powerstroke's are build for jumping, thus can carry heavier truck's. Both are the best of the best in handeling and smoothness.

Why on earth is proline discontinue'ing part's that are a huge succes and keep producing product's which nobody want's....:032:

maxxdude1234 03.04.2006 01:12 PM

I quite agree sneeck. And chc, 8 ue shocks = big $$$. 4 will would probably be enough for my truck anyway

Sneeck 03.04.2006 01:17 PM

It's your choice, I run 8 since I don't like the gap you get from running 4 shock's. Plus I think it look's like a true monstertruck, agresive.

But you are right, 4 will do fine, even for a heavy truck.

Hum, I had quite the opposite experience. I ran the PS and was bottoming out my truck at the BMX track. Switch to 8 UE's with 50wt and blue springs and had much less bottoming and better controlled landings. I was using 40wt and the white spring on the PS so maybe if I had tried a heavier oil and springs I might have like them better. Why has PL discontinued them? I've heard a lot of good things about them. I've got to believe they will be coming out with a new and improved shock soon.

Sneeck 03.05.2006 02:26 AM

Ohh you run 4 shock's. That'll bottom out on a heavy emaxx. You tried stiffer spring's?

8 will never bottom out if you set it correctly. No matter how high you be jumpin'.

How many hole pistons Serum?

Serum 03.05.2006 04:10 AM

Still bottoming out Leroy?

Need thicker oil then.. :)

coolhandcountry 03.05.2006 07:40 AM

If i jump with 4 yeah. I jump with the 8 not as much of a problem. The 8 seem to handle better as well. The 4 does better than stock by far. I think with the proline or the ue someone will be happy. I like the ue for a heavy truck for you have two springs to handle the load over one. Has any one tried a proline shock with the ue set of 4. Maybe that would be the ultimate set up. :)

damon 03.07.2006 05:31 AM

I put a set of PS on, and they are great! It was bottoming out some, so I put 80 wt in the by pass, and that has helped. Are you all using the bypass?

Serum 03.08.2006 01:31 AM

I use the bypass.
