Suuuper strong velcro?

I bough a 2ft strand 8 months ago or so and my HS cant find it again. It was a heli velcro with a X or Z name I believe. Either way, I need to find some because I am out and it was just pure awesomeness for my needs.

Perfect. I was looking for something in whole pieces but that works I spose. Again, if anyone knows what I am talking about, post it up.

I bought pretty industrial strength stuff at my ace hardware in large rolls. I think it was like $25. Strong enough to get get frustrating when trying to pry apart in tight spaces like between tray and spur.

PBO 12.16.2009 12:59 AM

Did you have 3M Dual Lock?

Desert Rc 12.16.2009 01:42 AM

Good price at least:surprised:

brushlessboy16 12.16.2009 08:44 AM

DUal lock is the Isht.

transtalon 12.16.2009 09:25 AM

dual lock

They have that available at Hobos in pieces. I think I paid 5.00 for like 50 pieces instead of 3.99 for only 4 pcs at Target.

Duster_360 12.16.2009 10:01 AM

Walmart sells a 15' roll of 2" wide sticky back velcro for ~$25. The brand name is "Industrial Strength".

Its what I've been using where ever I need velcro.

wallot 12.16.2009 10:27 AM

3M dual lock is the way to go as it is stronger than any velcro I have seen and also is easy to keep clean unlike velcro that tends to collect all the dirt from the track

Dual lock is great stuff - I like the 250/400 combination for larger items like ESCs, and use the low profile stuff for my receivers. The VHB adhesive is also pretty impervious to chemicals, fuel etc., so it stays put. :)

JThiessen 12.16.2009 11:34 AM

This must be the same stuff I saw on Mythbusters the other night - they said it sticks to itself (that was the only description they gave), and I was going to try to search for it, but ya'll saved me the trouble!

Would this stuff be good to make battery straps with or is it too difficult to pull apart?

Bondonutz 12.16.2009 08:07 PM

I've ben using this for the last couple years for battery tray straps and other stuff.

What a deal it is too ! 5-yrds of each side delivered for $6.00, sounds to good to be true but it's for real !

Okay I give what does FTW stand for? I may be close but all my guesses just don't fit.

BrianG 12.17.2009 12:35 AM

For The Win

Gee 12.17.2009 12:55 AM

OOOHHH! I wasn't even close. Have to get my mind out of the gutter I suppose. Thanks.

BrianG 12.17.2009 01:00 AM

 Just out of curiosity, what did you think it was?

Gee 12.17.2009 01:19 AM

real similar WTF only backwards FTW

mistercrash 12.17.2009 09:48 AM

And all this time I thought it stood for ''Feed The World'' and that anyone who used the acronym ''FTW'' was a really nice person with a big heart dedicated to end world hunger.

PedeBasher 12.17.2009 09:59 AM

Lmao! Thanks guys. I might just go with the site Mike linked to me. Seems to have a lot of variety. This is the only stuff that has held on in demolition derbies, backflips, and any crashes and I love it.

bustitup 12.19.2009 10:09 AM

try this I bought two big rolls....stickyest velcro I have ever used ands very cheap...read the reviews and like it says the roll is 3" wide so for batts you can cut it in half easily

I saw this too. The used it to hold a gun while it got shot by a bullet(myth to see if you can really shoot a gun out of someones hand). Its kept the gun in the hand so hey its good enough for me:mdr:

Metallover 12.20.2009 01:38 PM

Dual lock gets my vote. Perfect for escs and rx's. It lasts forever. I use a blunt flat-head a screwdriver to pry it apart.
