Has anyone converted a ofna Monster pirate or doninator to brushless?
 

i have been trying for months to figure this out with no luck.. my local hobby store is no help up here in alaska so i will ask here.. has anyone converted a ofna monster pirate or ofna dominator to brushless? i have searched google for hopes to find a thread of someone who has done it and no luck. if anyone can help me i would be very grateful. :smile: here is a pic of what i want to convert

I'm pretty sure an "Ultra" motor mount is what you need. And then measure available space for a battery box.

I'll go digging and post again if I find out for sure.

Anything else you need besides the mount and box?? Will you ditch or keep the mechanical brakes?

The CRT mount looks closest. If nobody just knows what fits, sending Mike some dimensions should get you what you need.

You'd need:

The height of the diff braces



The distance center to center of the screw holes in the diff brace, both top and bottom.

You'll have to cut up the top plate to remove the gas tank area and the brake servo if you won't use it. Looks like an easy conversion.

I will let this thread go for the rest of the week in hopes someone has already done it.. if not i will give those measurements to Mike thanks again for your reply..

I did a little more digging, if Mike has a mount that fits it's gonna be the CRT.

I really don't remember any dominator builds.

Can somebody measure their CRT center diff mounts and post up measurements??

I've been following this topic on UE and its very exciting! Should be an easy conversion. I would lose the mech brakes to gain the space. Should be one Super mean truggy!! One of my favorite hobby pieces of all time, I'll be so glad to see it converted!

Isn't it like a crazy huge 62t spur? that's what the crt is, I really have a feeling it's the crt mount.

Okay Update: I went and Dug out another ofna dominator from under the house and this one has a different Mount, its 3 pieces and i was thinking if i cant find a 1 piece mount i can try the ultra one and have it sit on the bottom silver and hope its raised enough. i would rather use a one piece hopeing someone will post the CRT specs.

Recieved the Ofna CRT Mount today its Perfect so i will complete this project on both of the trucks and post pictures...thanks for everyone who pmed me helping me do this.

Added the diffs and bulks i will be removing the left servo mounts and mounting the steering servo like a crt so that entire side will be free both sides will have battery treys

Hello Mikak, I know this is 6 months old. But How is the build going?? I have thought about doing too. I have a very rare tmaxx/dominator That I love and probably will never sell. Would like to get a dominator extreme to add to my collection. Have to say your dominator so far is The best I have scene with UE arms. Look forward to a reply.
