Got Empty Boxed by Atomic Hobbies

Ordered my hardened chassis for my muggy from Atomic hobbies as the have them for under 74 bucks shipped but the box that came to my door was awfully light. sure as shit it was empty, no packing slip just air bags in a empty box. I called told them what i received, the guy i spoke to seemed to doubt me. then after i kept pushing, he said it was possible my order went in with someone elses. they will be sending one out tues as that is the soonest he could get the warehouse to ship it. so ill have to wait another week. its a bummer.

t-maxxracer32 01.08.2010 02:31 PM

wouldnt they realize when actually shipping it out that it weighed nothing? thats pretty ridiculous.. im not one to try and get a discount but considering it is 100% their fault you should get at least your shipping refunded.

brushlessboy16 01.08.2010 02:36 PM

WOW, thats a bummer. hope you get straightened out

riverat1540 01.08.2010 02:52 PM

They have free shipping on orders over 45bucks it just sucks to expect something like a chassis and get bunked.

whitrzac 01.08.2010 02:57 PM

least you accualy got a box...

the local PO doesn't delever when it snows more than 1" :grrrrrr: keep in mind, this is in WI were 5-10 on the ground is normal

That sucks; I've ordered from there several times, but all small stuff, and have had no issues.

Arct1k 01.08.2010 03:38 PM

I use them A LOT for small order of bits - they can be a bit slow on shipping but prices are v good and its free on $25!

riverat1540 01.08.2010 03:41 PM

Maybe you got the optional version; you know, the super light and invisible one? Or maybe the box itself is the chassis, you just have cut it out?

magman 01.08.2010 04:30 PM

Isn't is April 1..

riverat1540 01.08.2010 04:43 PM

well if i knew of this new lighter version, i would have shopped for a cheaper price, like free, lol

I ordered an Ipod Touch from Best Buy for my wife this past Christmas and I also got an empty box. Only packing slip and bubble wrap left. I did get a replacement without issue.
It's possible that your item could have been stolen also.

Just to chime in with a similar experience, I ordered a full PC build from Newegg a while back. When it arrived there was no cpu in the box (about $300 of the $1200 order). It was on the packing list, but not there.

Called them to complain, figured I'd just be screwed, couldn't have been more wrong. They overnighted one to me, no charge. Got it the next morning (a saturday!).

Sometimes companies manage to do the right thing, and turn a bad situation around.

Hope they accomodate you !
I've had a run in w/Atomic a couple times, doubt I'll order from them ever again.

Took 2 weeks to get a Losi Servo horn that was in stock, no excuses or explanation offered.
Another time I ordered Losi XXX4 body and it wasn't in stock, I waited a couple weeks but after that I requested a refund and they gave me shit about it. In store credit only. I said F-YOU, you dont have when website says you did. Gimme my F-in money back.

E-Revonut 01.08.2010 10:45 PM

I use atomic constantly and have never had anything but good service from them. I actually sent them a e-mail thanking them for their great service.

Andrew32 01.08.2010 11:51 PM

have had a issue with them not returning emails after over a week...

hootie7159 01.09.2010 02:42 AM

ive always ordered small stuff too...never had a problem except sloooooooow shipping.. lol

PBO 01.09.2010 03:25 AM

I can imagine every other scenario but an empty box is..er, original?

I would be asking for some type of compensation...future discount, refund etc

I would suggest always ordering off of their actual website instead of Ebay. You get the free shipping on $25 or more, and the prices have been less for every item I've compared. If you buy on Ebay they raise the price and you end up paying for their Ebay/Paypal fees.

riverat1540 01.09.2010 11:53 AM

i ordered off their actual site, dont think any one had a chance to empty the box as i met the postman at the door with it, unless it happened before that. and of course i tried for compensation and i had to push for 10% off next order.

rawfuls 01.09.2010 05:07 PM

I'm a constant shopper with atomic..
It's always been about 3-4 days and it's on my doorstep..

Some large pieces, but sometimes small.

At least you got compensated.

Newegg on the other hand, has the best customer service I've dealt with so far....
