help!

I installed 9l/9920 in my E. Running 14 cells. First had bec installed and seemed like i got alot of interference due to short range and jerky throttle response. now i installed a receiver pack and about the same results. cuts out at full throttle and very little range. I have replaced receiver, crystals and tramsmitter. also alot of cogging at low speeds. help!

I run the same setup with no problems. What chassis are you runnning stock or aftermarket ?. If your running a CF chassis you might want tto try adding a little heat shrink around the anntenia wire were it's close to the chassis. Also have you tried reprograming the speedo ?.

Also what kind of shape is your anntenia wire in, if it has been shortened at all this will effect your range. Also make sure your reciver pack is fully charged.

stock setup and all electronics are new. also reprogrammed esc tonight and had to try several times to get it to beep to program.

The stock radio might be causing some issues. Most guys here use after radios, such as airtronics mx3 or m8. Some also use jr & futaba radios. Are you sur you prgramed it right ?. I knoe other members here have had similar problems as yourself. Also welcome to the forums.

coolhandcountry 03.13.2006 08:28 PM

do you have a pic of your set up

Steelerfan 03.13.2006 08:32 PM

thanks for the welcome. the stock radio components worked fine with the stock titans.it seems the longer it runs the worse the problem gets. no matter what gearing i still get severe cogging 12/66 - 18/66

Steelerfan 03.13.2006 08:33 PM

i'll try to get a pic tomorrow.

nrustler 03.13.2006 10:13 PM

can anyone send a pic of their car or truck rc of course. My thread is on general nitro. It says car or truck for the title.

Did you remove the BEC jumper when you switched to a reciever pack? If you didn't something bad could be happening with both the ESC and reciever pack trying to give the reciever power. The BEC jumper is the black one. It is a little ways under the heat shrink on the same side as the red jumper. It may just be a small bump in your heat shrink on the ESC, so you will probably have to cut it like I did. If you did remove the BEC jumper, then you might want to try another radio system if you've got one or try using brand new batteries in the transmitter and charge your RX pack fully. Good luck!

I dont like the looks of where the controller is sitting, try mounting it near the motor maybe? (on the othere side of the empty motor hole)

Steelerfan 03.14.2006 08:22 PM

10-4 i'll try it.

Steelerfan 03.17.2006 07:08 PM

any suggestions or links on how to mount it there?

coolhandcountry 03.17.2006 08:19 PM

Get you some angled aluminum and drill a few hole for the screws. There is a revo around that thas it. It is not hard and works really well. It is a few others with it on the other motor side.

i moved the controller and seemed to help some. i'll move a little more until i get it right. thanks

Sylvester 03.21.2006 08:14 PM

That looks better, now go get and get her dirty:)

BrianG 03.21.2006 08:29 PM

I noticed you are using the stock AM receiver. AM by nature is very sensitive to noise and those high current wires can radiate quite a bit of noise. I see that the receiver and antenna is right near the BL motor, wires, and ESC. Moving the receiver might be easier than moving the ESC if you still have problems - maybe on top of the battery pack?

squeeforever 03.21.2006 09:11 PM

i would mount it on the front shocktower, facing the rear of the truck. you have plenty of antenna wire so it should be ok.

Steelerfan 03.25.2006 05:33 PM

I've moved and/or replaced all electronics. The problem is getting worse. I think the esc may be the problem. I emailed mike for suggestions.

Steelerfan 03.27.2006 07:58 PM

I can't seem to get an e-mail to Mike. Any suggestions?

Sylvester 03.27.2006 08:14 PM

rcmonstermike@gmail.com < try this email it should work now.

Steelerfan 03.27.2006 08:37 PM
