already a thread :)
great buggy suspension geometry is from the losi 8ight.. so it should handle well the 800 dollar price tag is a bit of a stretch though |

you bastard, i wasnt done:lol: where is the other post about it, i figued it would have a street price of around $700 and thats afew thousand less than my carbon fiber 8ight cost here is a great read-up about it first part http://www.redrc.net/2010/01/more-ph...urango-dnx408/ second part http://www.redrc.net/2010/01/durango...408s-rear-end/ |
enjoy for that price, availability and Durango approach to the market - all they care is their name and couple good drivers. from i have seen they dont care about actually selling their cars to the masses
|
looks to be a PIA to convert to BL though...

In fairness, the name DNX408 is so set up for an E version. I'd wait for Nuremburg first.
Wallot is right though - they're cars for people who like to brag about what car they have, and how it's better than anything else on the market because it costs more. Example: DEX410 (Durango's 1/10th buggy) - £450 (GBP - that's about 730USD). People who have no idea how to drive/how to get the best from their cars bought it, went a little faster than previously 'cause they screwed up their set-ups so badly that the stock Durango set-up was an improvement, and troll threads on forums berating any other car - saying that the Durango is the best there is, if you can't afford one don't bother racing... It's ruined oOple for me, I only look at the 1/8th Electric section now... |
It sure has the bling factor :gasp:. Dont forget serpent is also coming out with a buggy . It's being designed by Billy easton . He has been testing it at my local track here in tampa .
|
it is not the car cost. Look at price of Kyosho MP9. It is overpriced for a piece of junk it is (it was to be fair. seems that kyosho solved most original durability issues) and people still buy it.
if car is durable as Mugen or Xray higher initial cost is ok. it is availability and their attitude to people who want to resell their cars. all they care is their image. |
It certainly is a looker. I think there are more "Team Durango" laser etchings on it than actual parts in the car.
It's like a Ferrari; very expensive, exclusive, beautifully made and lovely to look at... but you wouldn't want to drive it in the harsh, dirty racing environment for those very reasons. |

Great just what 1/8th scale needs, another from the factory nitro.

really nice, might get one as a conformation gift. But I see what you guys mean with the image bit. For now tho Hyper 9e all the way
|
The attitude of their "team" aside, that's a sweet looking buggy. It looks like somebody put many many hours into the design/layout. Should be a great performer. If I ever see one at a more affordable price I might pick it up.

im sure the new durango buggy will be sweet and im sure itll have a few quirks just like their 1/10th. |
That's one nice buggy!! I like the steering setup. It's not like the typical ackerman steering setup like most buggies and truggies have. The wing seems to be mounted securely too and the spur cover will definitely work well.

THe steering is pure losi, in the testing phase of the car it used losi suspension and steering..

serpent looks nice, the steering looks much more compact than my 8ight but over all the same set-up
|
It would be nice to see the electric conversion.
