New ESC's Coming

I was doing a usual trawl through the settings file and looks like an update the the brains board for the MMM and a New Monster ICE on the way ....

510 Monster Max (F360C)
511 Monster ICE (F360C)

sikeston34m 02.04.2010 09:47 PM

And just where did you spy this top secret information?

:yipi:

magman 02.04.2010 09:50 PM

Good find...any more info?

TexasSP 02.04.2010 10:25 PM

Could the MI be the new HV esc we have been waiting for?

Arct1k 02.04.2010 10:31 PM

I don't do anything radical - I just open up the settings.mdb file in access and have a little snoop around...

thzero 02.04.2010 11:03 PM

Hehehe... Access databases, gotta love them.

Access is the root of all evil and should be illegal! :diablo:

Sorry, people at work think Access is the best thing since sliced bread. Fine for smaller things, but for enterprise level stuff, it's the worst, most inefficient database system known to man with tons of disadvantages. Yet, people at work continue to make their own applications (despite not having the skill required) and then whine to IT when (not "if") they crash.

lincpimp 02.05.2010 12:06 AM

So let me look into this a bit Brian, sounds like on a very subconcious level you have a slight dislike for access...

TexasSP 02.05.2010 12:49 AM

I never found access as annoying as lotus notes though.............

Yeh, I'm inclined to think- What's up with them, but with the ICE monster so close to the release of the ice pheonix I reckon I can download the new sh*#@ to my ice pheonix and be laughing :yipi:

I agree we have LN at work and its the worst program I've ever worked with not only the db side but the email side is crap too.

Well technically the world is not round and neither is our orbit... ;)

Can you confirm Chris's findings?

Yes, I can. The world is neither round, nor does it have a round orbit.

V5 Monster (control board changes only) is currently in production, and has been shipping for a couple weeks.

And you already know we are working on Mamba ICE -- placeholder in Castle Link already.

For the love of god, put cooling plates on the Phoenix ICE and ICE HV series and SELL IT! I don't understand what the holdup is, can't be too tough to make it a marine ESC. There are people running regular ICE ESCs in boats (some without any cooling at all, just the heatsinks in a sealed up hull). PLEASE give us the Hydra ICE!

V5 Monster

Where can the V5 monster be purchased. I am looking for a V5 2200 combo. All that I have looked it, claim they come with the V3. Thank you.

Actually money does, but the nerds do usually get paid (if not laid)...

As for the actual mechanics of the world going around it must have something to do with the the intial big bang exposion imparting momentum to all of the particles in the universe. At that point the started to collect due to the unexpainable force of gravity (it is very weak compared to the other forces but has the greatest "reach"). At that point the larger collections of matter started to interact with each other and the various planets developed orbits due to the gavitational forces counteracting the momentum of the planets. These orbits gradually altered as the planets swept up most of the debris in space and enlarged at the same time. So the actual rotation of the earth about its axis is most likely a closely balanced deal based on the size of the sun and the interaction of neighboring planets. So should anything change we may have issues. Get rid of Jupiter or saturn and I would no doubt that we may get sucked closer to the sun, and then everything dies. So no blowing up any planets, no matter how pissed they make you.

I can also imaging the moon affects the rotation of the earth, as it does cause the tides due to its gavitational effects on the earth. And all that water moving around will be altering the rotation of the earth somehow.

TexasSP 02.08.2010 12:50 AM

I have seen some presentations done on all the things that are in place which allow the earth to sustain life, it's pretty crazy. Even the other galaxies around us affect this.

Hmm, funny, we just approved the cooling extrusion on Thursday for the Hydra ICE. Coming real soon. Probably less than four weeks away.

Yeah, pretty much everything we have made in the last eight months or so has been a V4. The V5 is shipping now. The only real differences is some very minor changes in V4, and V5 has a better switching BEC (more amperage.)

So, nothing really to get excited about. Just some minor tweaks.

VERY good to hear! Are they going to be regular cooling plates or some kind of water block like you find in a water cooled computer? As long as you can keep the resistace low enough the water block would offer superior cooling capacity. At any rate, I've got 3 boats right now...and only 1 good ESC

We took the heat sink fins off the cooling extrusion, and replaced them with channels for cooling tubes. The cooling extrusion bonds to the bus bars and the FET packages -- it is very effective at cooling the circuit board.

Sounds good! Any pics? :intello: I will be looking forward to these ESCs, got a big summer of boating ahead!

I'm out of the office until Tuesday -- I'll try to remember to post up some pics when I get back.
