bk20120 problem, nd help

I just hooked up my bk20120 and got it programmed. All seemed fine until I ran it for about 1 minute and then the throttle started cutting out when I pulled full throttle. It is acting like it has a voltage cutoff? I am running it on 4s lipos and I tried 2 different packs and both did the same. It will let me drive it slow, but if I pull full throttle it pulses the throttle. Anyone have any idea if this has a voltage cutoff or any other idea what could be wrong?

sounds like maybe low batteries? mine does that when the batteries are dead (nimh)

Gustav 03.19.2006 09:23 PM

The BKs don't have a low voltage cut off.Are you using a LVC with those lipos?

Sylvester 03.19.2006 09:35 PM

My bl setup (10l/9920) cuts off at full throttle when the batts are dead.

Gustav 03.19.2006 09:37 PM

Could it just be cogging really badly?(you said it pulses the throttle) What motor, gearing, truck etc?

cspurlock 03.19.2006 09:53 PM

Well I reprogrammed it and it seemed to fix the problem, but now there is a new one. When I am going full throttle and then let off the gas, it hits the brakes for just a moment. It does not do this unless I am going full throttle and let the car wind up. I tried moving up my throttle trim, but no luck. I had the same problem with my MGM. Anyone else experience this?

Someone else on the forum had this exact problem.Could be a radio glitch, metal on metal interference maybe, maybe metal rubbing when you lift off causing a glitch. What's the radio range before you get interference?

Edit:Check usual stuff like loose battery or reciever connections, loose crystals etc.

cspurlock 03.19.2006 10:07 PM

really good range, using spektrum. It does it even if it is right in front of me.

Gustav 03.19.2006 10:11 PM

Funnily enough, the other one did it with spektrum aswell,i think it turned out to be a metal skid rubbing an aluminium tranny case.(although i thought metal-metal interference was s'posed to be impssible with 2.4 ghz)

I think the most likely thing is a loose connection somewhere.

cspurlock 03.19.2006 10:14 PM

I think that is interesting about the metal tranny because that is what I have. What is a skid?

Gustav 03.19.2006 10:20 PM

Here's the thread http://www.rc-monster.com/forum/show...=sudden+brakes

Yeah,he thought it was the skid(center skid plate below the transmission),i wasn't totally convinced (because of the 2.4 ghz metal-metal thing) but he seemed to solve it so i guess it must have been.

Interesting, but I am not sure what a metal center diff housing has to do with causing interference? I have run other speed controls with the exact same setup and not had this problem, but I have also experienced this problem with my MGM. The MGM is known to have this problem though.

squeeforever 03.20.2006 04:44 PM

well actually, our very own coolhand has had a problem like that to. it did fine on a schulze but when he went to a bk it had horible problems. he did away with the center diff in his maxx and it cured the problem. sometimes its jus interferances or something to do with the controller.

What are you running cspurluck? Do you have a pic of it as well?

cspurlock 03.20.2006 10:41 PM

I actually have two.
Hyper 7
Novak HV
4s lipo

Kyosho K3
Neu Motor 1515 1Y
Just about every speed control made(all suck)
4s Lipo

I am also doing a Mayhem for one of the guys @ Horizon Hobby right now.
Sorry, no pictures.
