and i ordered a few broken 360s on ebay

Im in the process of making some flyers for this business idea i have.

Ill upload the links in a sec

BP-Revo 03.02.2010 03:56 AM

Huh?

ya sorry accidentally submitted it

haha..

anyways here are the links

I will be editing these pages a bit more before i put them out places (craigs list, colleges, etc)

also, I will be putting in my "company name" --elite modding-- somewhere on the document.

lemme know what you all think

BP-Revo 03.02.2010 04:11 AM

Sounds pretty cool.

The first thing I can think of is that you'll need some evidence of satisfied customers and also, you'll have to be comfortable with the fact that you may actually mess something up and lose money when you need to replace it, and you'll also have cases where someone will send you a broken xbox and then claim you broke it.

Just figured you should be prepared for that.

t-maxxracer32 03.02.2010 04:24 AM

I have actually been doing this for a while so i do have some references that I could use if someone needed, and I know that not all xboxs can be fixed.

And like you said I am prepared to screw up a few boards in order to get this machine dialed in correctly. I have a freind who is willing to donate his board in order for me to figure out all the settings.

I figure I will have to make up some type of ........... i cant think of the word... basically a document that protects me

saying something like this

You are signing this form admitting that your xbox as of now is broken and in non working condition. If i cannot fix the xbox error and get it working correctly I will return the xbox in its original condition and all charges will be waved.

that is a roughhh draft.

Also in the next few weeks i will be making a website for this just so I can have customers go on and give their feedback of my services.

I really do hope that this will get me enough money to go the next few years without having to have another job (untill i graduate college.... 3 years roughly)

Thanks for your input!

t-maxxracer32 03.02.2010 07:45 AM

created a website for my work!

http://360elitemodding.webs.com/

ive been up for hours doing this so please tell me what I can do to better it.

Also, if anyone knows... how the heck do i add an img to the home page.. i dont want a link!

i spent almost an hour getting my elite modding logo done so hopefully i can make it work!

My xbox has RROD. When can you fix it?

pinkpanda3310 03.02.2010 08:33 AM

The word doc you made mentions the warranty, everyone knows this sort of stuff will viod the warranty but maybe you could be a little clearer for those that don't know or want to wrought the system.

You may well have that covered in the contract you write up for the customer. :rules:

My 2c, good luck anyway :great:

lutach 03.02.2010 10:44 AM

I hope lincpimp or _paralyzed_ don't call you in the middle of the night .

Let me know when you get the hang of things. Post a few pics of your reballing work. I have a few very expensive chips that will need some work done to them. I have a few places that does the work for me, but I can always help out a fellow RCM member.

For me to do some professional work to it I will have to wait a few weeks for my machine to come in then another week or so for me to get the hang of it..

I will update this thread once I have perfected my technique.

Your website neeeds more pictures of actual 360s- remember, sex sells, so sexy 360s and cutaway pictures with details of what you are able to fix ( bullet points and lines basically ) would be cool.

lincpimp 03.02.2010 05:52 PM

Krylon fusion on the controllers? Hope so as regular paint will not stick without some sort of adhesion promoter. I would use bulldog adhesion promoter and the krylon fusion. And wipe them down really good with some alcohol/prepsol.

For 40 bucks I might send you mine, and it still works.

scarletboa 03.02.2010 06:19 PM

only $40 for a rrod fix? my xbox has the rrod and it's still under warranty, but i would rather get a permanent fix and send it to you. let me know when you get that machine dialed in.

just a quick question:

my xbox has the e74 error. you can fix that right? i was told it isn't the typical rrod.

I cant figure out how to put pictures that can be viewed without clicking on links.. go to my "home" on my website and you will see the link that i have provided and it will take you to my logo. I tried adding the picture with htlm coding, img coding, direct link, etc but nothing seems to make the picture come up without having to click on a link

maybe you know how to do this?

But yes.. you are right! i need more pics and info.

I actually airbrush all controllers.. so the paint sticks hella good.
Then i clear coat it with krylon fusion clear coat..

A freind of mine had told me the same thing about how i should use some type of adhesion promoter so i will look more into it.

If you would like me to mod your controller hit me up and lemme know what all you want done!

Well if you think about it.. you pay about 12 for shipping to me then 12 for shipping back. Also if i need more parts to fix it the prices will adjust accordingly.. but generally no other parts will be needed.

what do you think a good price would be for me to charge?

In the past I have fixed almost every issue with the 2 methods I used.. reflowing the board and the xclamp fix..

so yes, my methods shouldd fix the e74 problem.

$40-50 is ok.
$30 for rc-m members would be nice

haha okay I may edit the site and change that up, but im hoping people come to me as i wish to have much lower prices.

It should take me MAYBE 2 hours to fix a 360 which includes time to disassemble, taking the chips off, reballing the chips, and reassembly.

so 20 bucks an hour seems pretty good to me:yes:

hi, i have an 8g iphone that has a problem, lower part of touchscreen doesnt work.can you repair that?i heard that it needs a touchscreen replacement(dont know for sure)just pm me price and detials ,thanks

rawfuls 03.03.2010 01:25 AM

A iPhone is a digitizer, they can be pretty tricky depending on your model, hop over to ifixit.com, you can pick up a pretty cheap replacement kit for a 3G, for about $60 bucks, compared to the Apple's $200.

thanks!

squeeforever 03.03.2010 02:08 AM

Ryan, how much would you charge me to flash the firmware on my 360 drive? Its a BenQ drive out of a Halo 3 360, btw.

t-maxxracer32 03.03.2010 02:31 AM

This is something I need to spend more time on, and I currently have a few drives that i am working on one of which is a benq

I should have this figured out by next week and will pm you.

Much appriciated. When you figure it out, I can save you a little work and just pull it out myself and ship it to you. I wanna put a Talismoon fan in it and a couple other small things.

t-maxxracer32 03.03.2010 04:11 AM

kk sounds good! since you ask I will try and figure it all out tomorow night

If you want me to do anything else to your 360 pm me and id be happy to help!

Alright man! I'd appreciate it. I'm honestly not sure what I want to do to it other than some LED fans and change the ROL on the front, which I've done to one already. Since its the Halo 3 edition, I really hate to cut a window in it, but I'm thinking about it...It took me a couple years just to get the balls to open it up...

feistyacorn 03.03.2010 11:04 AM

t-maxxracer32, try http://www.w3schools.com/html/html_images.asp for the html stuff. It's been a while since I have been to their site, but they have a cool try it yourself section where you can modify the code.

I might have to send you my XBOX 360. I modded it (LEDs, paint, internal hard drive, internal WiFi, 12v fan) and it was working great. I got a rrod and did the x-clamp fix and a week later it went out. It happened almost immediately after I charged $15 of points to my credit card!

ya I can understand why you would not want to open it up and everything... I am one to always buy the best warranty possible because you never know what can happen.. but when it comes to the 360... i say screw the warranty.

most of the mods I do are not difficult it just takes time and you need to do a little research to figure it all out.. if you want to add some LEDs to it hit me up and ill get you the schematics for it.

If you ever want to buy LEDs go to http://www.unique-leds.com/index.php...roduct_id=1871

totally legit site and the LEDs are stupid cheap.

That is always the worst.. when you have this sick 360 then the stupid RROD comes and its ya hard.

once i get everything up and running I will probably make a new thread or at least go through this one and PM everyone who may need me to fix theirs.

thanks for the link btw

t-maxxracer32 03.03.2010 01:21 PM

well.... Im pretty much a dumbass.

Did not realize there is a button for adding images to the website...:lol:

thanks for the link though feistyacorn it made me look around a little more on the website and I saw the button.. haha...

Im going to add a page of "work that I have done" with a bunch of pics right now

thanks again!

feistyacorn 03.03.2010 03:17 PM

That's cool you got it to work. Have you ever used a ring fader from Sick Mods? I used one in mine and it is bad ass! They came out with a version 2 that adds a lot of awesome effects. I would have to guess that a lot of people would want this. They also have cheep LEDs.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FZWfoGy1qiY

How do I embed a youtube link?</EMBED>

rawfuls 03.03.2010 03:22 PM

I haven't looked at the site-yet, but just wanted to say, it's better to use correct spelling and grammar over being lazy and using shortcuts and such. Take it this way, I would spend more on a company that has correct grammar over a company that shortcuts the spelling. Just my two cents....

Again I haven't seen your site yet so I'm just saying....

you are correct. I tried to spell everything out and make everything seem professional..

for example.. instead of RROD i put red ring of death... some places I abbreviate but for the most part i spelled it out all..

and instead of you can txt me anytime.. i put text... Its the small things that I think matter.

also I would like to point out that I did not make this site intending on it actually bringing in me money...

maybe 6 months down the line... but right now my business will come from forums, youtube, and ebay. This site is just made for testimonials and a place where I can show off my work.

t-maxxracer32 03.03.2010 03:29 PM

ALSO!!

I just modded the firmware on my benq drive!! it plays backup games and regular Msoft games!!

I am very excited about this as I have been trying to get this done for months!

mambarustler 03.03.2010 03:38 PM

Any work for PS3's? YLOD, is not as common the the RROD on the 360. But it still happens my 60GB PS3 has gotten it twice, but with some research I managed to fix it for under $20 myself :yipi: and am 16.

t-maxxracer32 03.03.2010 04:11 PM

Im going to stick with 360s.. for now.. I have seen the ps3s YLOD and everything, but in my opinion there is more money to be made in microsoft products. ps3s n such just arent as popular

the machine i bought came with ps3 stencils so if i get bored with 360s i can start messing with ps3 stuff.. there products are just so much more complex and harder to take apart.. I modded 2 ps3 controllers and it was a friggen mission taking the dang things apart.

mambarustler 03.03.2010 04:25 PM

Haha yea, first time I took my PS3 apart it took me about 2 hours to get it all working properly. Second YLOD took me about 1 hour to be bak in working order. PS3 YLOD is just too rare.

Finnster 03.03.2010 04:37 PM

What the hell is reballing? I think you may be talking about solder joints, but IDK.
Perhaps its better to be a little less specific on the method of repairs unless asked? It sounds a bit confusing and intimidating if you are not really into this stuff.

Mine broke once, and I have no idea if "reballing" would help. Maybe your work doesn't apply? If you just say you will fix it for $40 and improve cooling and heatsinking on top, sounds understandable and a good deal.
Perhaps just a picture of a board on the soldering machine, so it looks like a highly professional and automated service w/o having to be too technical. IDK, just a thought.

G/l and if I have another RROD, I'll lyk :)

PBO 03.03.2010 04:55 PM

I'm more ignorant than anyone & I'm amazed that people would pay money to have the box cut & clears installed etc. Clearly I'm missing something

Great work if you can get it...want a free testimonial t-maxxracer32? happy to support even if I don't understand it!

If you pull the GPU CPU and southbridge chip off the 360 they will not have an easy "solder job" There is a grip of little balls holding the chip in place..
http://farm1.static.flickr.com/25/65...67cee5e0d0.jpg

What i do is lift the chip up with the machine.. get the other little mechanism i bought that holds the chip in place while i resolder all the balls back on. (reballing)

I dont have to solder each ball individually or anything like that.. they come preform to each specific size and I use solder paste to hold the balls on while I put it back on the board.. then reflow it together (heating up the board causing the solder to join up with the board)

typically the main problems with 360 whether its RROD 2 or 3 E74 etc... is just the GPU CPU or southbridge chips.

that is why the xclamp mod fixes almost everything because you clamp the chips down tight. Even with a cold solder joint it will still clamp it so tight that they will connect.

Problem with this is that it doesnt always clamp it tight enough and it will typically bend the board

your advice on what to say about my RROD fix is good. I may change it up to that.

not everyone knows how to do these mods that I do and it really took me like a whole year to get good at it.. good enough to where i feel confortable doing it for other people..

Reason why people pay good money for it is because it looks sick! its original.. very rarely will you see someone with an xbox like this..

Alot of it is that people wanna impress there freinds but dont feel like putting in the effor to figure it out themselves so they pay someone else to do it..

does that make sense?

and if you wanna give me a testimonial id be happy to take it
