Tradeing in M.M.'s ?

I heard (can't remember where ?) that Castle will except working M.M. ESC's and some $$ in trade for new M.M.P's ? Please explain.

Thank You,
Jeff

Explanation: Castle will accepting a working MM and some cash to trade for new MMPro.

Oh, did you mean "Please elaborate"?

Upgrade programme, it was discussed a while back ( mmpro thread I think... )- due to the short supply of mmpros though you will get bumped to the back of the waiting list until all orders & repairs etc have been filled first. I believe you have to fill in the service form on the castle website and make a note that you want to upgrade to an mmpro; cant remember the $ though..

Thomas Porfert 03.17.2010 01:31 PM

Working or non-working, we will upgrade you from a Mamba Max to a Mamba Max Pro for $80.00. The cost includes the replacement controller, shipping back to you and the normal one year warranty. It is not considered a repair, so it does take a bit longer than a normal repair.

CC handled my exchange really quickly. :)

lincpimp 03.17.2010 01:48 PM

Hmm, I have 2 old dead MMs that could be handled like this...

What is proper way to go about doing this? Just mail them back with a note in the box? Also have a MMM that needs repair, are those still done free? It is the model with the bullet connectors soldered to the board.

I guess I should just make out a repair form for the MMM and mail it back, but I would like to send the MMs in for upgrade to MMpro... Need 1 to run a novak motor (yuk)

Not if it's your "lady parts" box

thzero 03.17.2010 03:04 PM

If I recall right, what I did was...

Created a non-warranty repair, clicked 'Check Out Now', then 'Process Repair'. Filled it out and put in the comments 'Upgrade from Mamba Max to Mamba Max Pro'. In talking with them via phone, they also had me write that on the invoice/rma slip that goes with the package.

+1 thzero. This will work great, the pricing will be off, but our repair people will make the appropriate adjustments. We won't charge you until we are ready to ship the replacement.

I assume this program is still available? My MM decided to let out the magic smoke this weekend :(

Oh and does the new MMP come with the coupon for free castle link? If so can I have Castle do the upgrade for field programmer at the same time for the extra $10?

Yes, it does include the coupon, which can be used to upgrade to the Field programmer for $10.00.

Good stuff, can I request that they charge me the extra $10 for the programmer and ship right away? Or do I have to wait till I get the coupon? Also what is Castles stock of MMP like, will it be a long wait?

thzero 04.06.2010 02:41 PM

I think they said 3-5 weeks when I sent mine in. However I think I got it replaced like in the 2 to 3 week range. Castle is great; I had an issue with the code on the coupon and they just took care of it.

Thomas Porfert 04.07.2010 12:01 PM

I don't think there would be a problem in removing the coupon and just redeeming it immediately. Just make sure you note this clearly when you send it in for replacement. It will not be as quick as a standard repair turnaround; it is not considered a repair, so it is not given the same priority. You will go to the bottom of the regular order list, which puts you behind all previous orders; including orders from large companies, like Great Planes and Horizon Hobby.

So it does take a bit of time to get the upgrade. We are just now making a significant dent in the overall backorders; I think we've finally dropped below 1,000 on back order for the first time since its release. It will probably be at least 2 weeks before it ships, but it could be longer.

Great Thomas thanks for the info, you guys a Castle rock. I will send my m.m. in next week and make sure I state clearly that I want the coupon for the castle link redeemed as a programming card for the extra fee to be shipped with my new MMP.

Please PM me your info and I'll make sure the invoice is clearly marked as an upgrade and about redeeming the coupon immediately. If I understand correctly, you do want to pay the $10 to upgrade to the field programmer? I just want to make sure it's clear before we ship the wrong stuff.

PM sent Thomas and yes I am looking for you to upgrade the castle link to the programming card for the additional fee and shipped with the MMP.

E-Revonut 04.13.2010 12:43 AM

Can anyone from Castle give me an aproximate turnaround time on this? In need of a new esc as my MM doesn't seem to like brushed motors and it would be real nice to have a MMPro so when I go to the 13.5 spec motor for the SC class at my track I can take advantage of the sensor. One of my MMM is in my sc10 at the moment but it's huge and isn't sitting where it should be.

hlb14 04.14.2010 09:25 AM

i just sent in a mmp for repair under warranty, would it be possible to exhange it for a mmm?

Unfortunately we do not allow upgrades to the MMM.

There are simply too many variables to give an accurate time frame. We are finally making a dent in the backorder's on the MMPro, but there are still backorders. We are making them as fast as we can and I would not expect longer than a 4 week delay. It all depends on how many we already have on order versus how many we are building; and then of course where you fall on the list will also determine when you get one. I wouldn't expect an immediate replacement like a repair, but it should be fairly reasonable.

Thomas I just filled in the repair/upgrade order and think I was pretty clear requesting an upgrade to MMP and field programmer card upgrade on the form in the notes section. I also printed the email confirmation out and will be mailing it out with my old MM tomorrow. I also referenced the your name on it so hopefully if there are questions, repairs will get a hold of you. Let me know if you want me to PM you the order number. Thanks

Hey Castle guys, is this trade-in open to us guys in the UK? Same process as the guys int eh US are using, fill out a non-warranty repair sheet, etc.?

Looked on the Castle site and couldn't find details?

alport 05.02.2010 12:25 PM
