Castle is moving...
We need more space. :oh:
The move should be done around June 1st. Article here about Castle's decision to move: http://kansascity.bizjournals.com/ka...3236031&page=1 Also a mugshot of yours truly... |
Now you can build that indoor track you've always wanted! :yipi:
That part about the motors costing $100 more to build in the USA was interesting, since I've always thought a BL ESC would be more complicated to assemble. |
congrats! points to the obvious though, great products! i see to it that all that ask at the track know the truth. not to mention the on track performance!

Hopefully you actually own the company over there, and aren't just subbing out the work. I know we have had a hard time getting our subs over there to improve thier processes, or even buy drill motors that work properly. But our problem is that we can only inspect the quality of the product since we dont own the company. As we have been implementing lean manufacturing, and increasing the delivery rates, they have had a hard time keeping up. You need to hire me to come in and lean out your manufacturing process. Make sure you get enough land to have an onsite flying field and race tracks. |
thats bad ass!....i could see it now...you can have HUGE 1/8th scale MX style track....a smaller 1/10th scale short course track....a drag strip....a hanger to test the heli/planes....and a small pond ot test the boats...65,000 square ft is a TON of space!!!

When will Castle become a publicly traded company? I want to invest!
|
Ummm, You need to move your facility to Sikeston, Missouri!
Congratulations on the move Patrick! I'm sure the extra space will bring some relief to your efforts. Who knew such fun filled ideas were in the mind of this man? http://i160.photobucket.com/albums/t...elCastillo.jpg |
Congrats Patrick. I didn't know until I read the news that you were in the Air Force.
|
Congrats Patrick!!
|
Good stuff Patrick, hope the new digs work out well for ya. So are we all invited to the grand opening party?
|
Good read! I really like Castle's products and business model. I'm so glad you are doing so well.
|
I wanna invest too!
Sounds like its gonna be a big step up in terms of output, that should help get rid of any backlogs. @ Jthiessen- would you be happy paying ~$250 for a 1515 NeuCastle motor? If so, just buy a real Neu. Otherwise, face the reality of the global economy & accept that if you want cheaper products, they have to come ( atleast partially ) from overseas. They do still make 'em like they used to, but they cost alot more for not much more performance... Hand assembled is hand assembled in this case, just cheaper labour over seas. |
Also, I'm graduating next week with my degree in industrial automation; where do I send my application!

We do own the company in China -- it's owned by a Kansas LLC ("Castle Holdings LLC") as a WOFE (wholly owned foreign enterprise) in China. And no, we don't have anyone under 18 working there. Nor is there anyone under 18 working in Juarez either.... (in fact, I think they are all over 40 in Juarez...) You can buy a USA made version (as was pointed out above) by buying a Neu motor. And since we are Neu's US distributor, we encourage you to buy Neu! Thanx for all the kind words... Patrick |
I remember my last company we found the only way to get product from China how we wanted was to own the company. We went through several vendors before doing this. They don't listen, can't manufacture efficiently, and constantly want to raise prices despite what contracts we had with them.
I spent the last year and half from mid 06 to early 08 getting our machines ready and sending them over. It was fun and hell at the same time. Most of what we had was in house designed CNC machines with 20 year old operating systems on them so I spent over 6 months just specing out new systems and eventually went with baldor. Too bad CC was not on the radar at the time for industrial control equipment. ;) Baldor was great to deal with though and their techs were fantastic to work with much like CC. Congratulations on the expansion and best of wishes on CC's future. This is a man's Cinderella story! |
I too would like to invest in CC. Seems like a company with promising growth!

Will this ensure quality control in production? Always will my investment pay dividends? |

I don't think going public will be a good move. Stay private as long as you can. Who knows, maybe a partner would be nice incase you want to make very expensive ESCs and motors for the wealthy folks :intello:. Patrick, have you thought about owning a place instead of leasing one? I know it's a bigger investment, but it always pays off in the long run. |

Congratulations on all your success. Hopefully it will continue for you'll.

Don't know what you are paying for it but sounds like to good of a deal to pass up. Me if I was in manufacturing I would never own the building as it locks you in too much. Most of these build to suit setups with leases serve the manufacturer much better.
