Old tyres: Are they still around?
 

Hi guys, I was wondering if anyone remembers the make tyres in the photos below... If you do where can I find them?

I think those were actually a TRC tire. I don't think they are made anymore.

The Dirt Bonz don't have the space down the middle and also have writing and graphics on the sidewalls.

HPI DB are very similar but that not what those are.

Try Hobao or some other off brands, they're clearly an older tire and possibly no longer availible so you might have to settle for somthing close.

Yes!!! TRCs, i remember seeing them at towerhobbies a couple years ago (more like 5 or 6) and they just stopped carrying them.

Hmmmm... they do look like Imex tyres... I will search around for more photos.

I almost forgot, I was at the track Saturday and a guy had a 10+yr old Tamiya TNX MT he was running and it had the IDENTICAL TIRES your looking for. I inquired and they were indeed factory installed for his truck. Hope this helps ?

I love the look of these tires even more... but the site says they are discontinued and I can't find them anywhere else, I will keep an out for these... thanks Bondonutz

I had a racebomb... Sold it off.

I do have 2 torpedo chassis, will be the backbone for the updated 6x6 maxx based crawler/basher.

BPP stuff was nice, pity he stopped fooling with it.

The tires in question are 99% sure to be TRC brand.

They are definitely not the Imex tires. The Imex tires linked were developed to fit the new size Maxx/Revo wheels sizes, not the standard MT 3.2" rim. Note in the pictures of the tire in question, the rims on the Racebomb Maxx are UE wheels which came standard in 3.2"

Newer technology could have really helped Brian out at BPP. The esc's and motors available today are far superior to what was being used 5 years ago. Not to mention that electric MT's were not cool, much less an electric MT that could be used to race! :oh::gasp:

The tires were indeed TRC - I had some myself and remember racing Brian and Jeremy from Bombproof with those very trucks (twice in fact - going back quite a few years). The 2nd time it was against their HB Lightning based trucks - these didn't have a chance against my gorillamaxx, though - they pushed like dumptrucks through the corners and they were not really too competitive. Jamie from StarluckRC was at the same race. These races were before Lipos hit the scene. The TRC tires were very similar to a Bow-tie, but were a bit harder and didn't balloon much at all(they were ahead of their time in that they were ribbed inside to prevent ballooning).

WAAAY too much side wall for me though Alien. They will collapse in the turns like mad.

Interesting stuff Mike... I thought they were really nice designs for the time too... only wish I could find some old stock...

Hmmm... look at what I just found on ebay :lol: Trinity TRC... I totally forgot about the brand name 'Trinity'... looks like a nice deal for 4 tyres...
