And here it is: my SCRT10
Hi,
finally got a chance to take some pictures of my SCRT10. Novak HV6.5 with a 16T pinion(HPI) CC Mamba Max Pro SLS 5000mAh 33/60C 2S hardcase lipo Thundertiger/ACE 1015DS SR3100 captured rod ends on the steering with TRX2742X Body is still work in progress http://home.arcor.de/tsjmnordgerling/scrt/scrt2.jpg http://home.arcor.de/tsjmnordgerling/scrt/scrt3.jpg http://home.arcor.de/tsjmnordgerling/scrt/scrt4.jpg http://home.arcor.de/tsjmnordgerling/scrt/scrt5.jpg http://home.arcor.de/tsjmnordgerling/scrt/scrt6.jpg http://home.arcor.de/tsjmnordgerling/scrt/scrt7.jpg And here the nice idea I got from shark to use skateboard glide tape on the chassis plate: http://home.arcor.de/tsjmnordgerling/scrt/scrt1.jpg Hope I can take it out on the track next weekend and get you some pictures with the body on. |
Hey, which body are you going to use?
Loks great so far. I´m waiting for my Slash. Bodywork is almost done, but custom gets my truck and I´m waiting for more than 3 weeks.... |
I'm going to use the stock body and stock tires to begin with.
I'll see how long the body will hold up to my driving and then start looking for a replacement. The body is painted, but as expected I screwed up the paintjob. Apart from that, it has been raining for the last weeks and will most likely continue to do so for the next days/weeks. So it will take a while till I get to take pictures of the SCRT10 with body. As for the tires, I'll have to get some money first, I'm on a really tight budget right now, so no 100€+ for 2 sets of tires right now for me. |
o.k., I got your missing parts :mdr:, but I have no SCT , jet...
I bought Pro-Line Split Six beadlocks and Pro-Line 2.2"/3.0" Trencher SC, incl. shipping and that stuff about € 80,00.. My body should look alike a Touareg Paris-Dakar, with the paint job I got close to it I suppose. http://s10.directupload.net/images/100501/7sbcwcbb.jpg http://s5.directupload.net/images/100501/4o7rkymc.jpg |
Nice paintjob!
Looks really nice, wish I could do something like that... By the way, where in Germany do you live / run your RC? |
If your planning on racing good luck with stock tires! At my track Caliber SC in M4 is the ticket There are so many SC tires out there now that the possibilities are endless but for the most part any of the aftermarket tires from proline, JConcepts, and AKA will be way better than stock
|
No, I'm not planing on racing with stock tires. Just because I'm not able to perfectly paint a body doesn't mean I'm generally stupid.
And I know that there is a endless choice of aftermarket tires. And I have a pretty good idea on what I'll get when the time comes. But as said before: at the moment there is no money. When there is no money I don't spend any. And I will shurely not take a loan to buy "toys". So for now the stock tires have to do it. Apart from that, I've read a few times that they aren't that bad if you grove the outer parts of the profile. |
looks good so far

Anyone here knows if the Jconcepts Illuzion Ford Raptor SVT body fits on the SCRT10?
And will wheels with Slash front offset fit under the body? |
6.5hv is 2 pole or 4?

Well, with all the nice new 4x4 SCs coming out, I finally managed to get my SCRT10 finished. Almost:lol:
Still need to get the body done and decide if I use the 6 or 7 turn Tenshock 2220 motor. But that's how it looks for now: http://r1hgaw.blu.livefilestore.com/...iscomplete.jpg Put some screws into the chassis, after I saw the chewing marks from the droop limiter screws on the chassis. They were allready there after only setting droop and ride height. So I marked the positions of the chewing marks, put 2,5mm holes through there, tapped M3 treads, sunk them and shortened a few M3 counter sunk screws. This is the result, front... http://r1hgaw.blu.livefilestore.com/...drooplimit.jpg ...and rear: http://r1hgaw.blu.livefilestore.com/...drooplimit.jpg Hope this keeps wear from the relatively soft aluminum chassis and puts it onto the hardened steel screw heads, which also have the advantage that they can be replaced. So, hope you like it so far, I know I do. I hope to get the shell finished this weekend. After that it's waiting for better weather so I can actually run it on the track. |
are those the stock hexes on there? what size are they?
Everything looks sharp!! |
Those are the AKA 17mm adapters for the Slash 4x4.
I run 17mm Trinidad wheels (for conventional SC tires) from DE racing on them. Has the big advantage that I can run the same wheels on my SCRT10, my Slash 4x4 and my SC10 (front and rear), all with 17mm hexes. |
verrrry nice! RCM stuff looks great, musta been tough to drill and tap the holes so close to the edge of the chassis, but good idea! nice CF on there too...and the alum chassis braces...dang nice!
|
Glad you like it.
Drilling the holes so close to the edge was actually pretty easy. Just use a big hammer. And a center punch:wink: Seriously, in my opinion one of the most underrated tools out there. Taping (what's the present progressive form of "to tap" anyways?) the threads was pretty easy, doesn't really matter if it's close to the edge or not. Just get the screw tap in straight and you're almost there. As for the CF parts, you can get those as CRT.5 parts off of ebay pretty cheap you know:lol: And shure the RCM stuf looks great, it's RCM stuff:yipi: |
Was out with SCRT10 for the first time today.
But boy was I not happy! :whip: Has a turningradius like freight train, jumped like it had an extra 50kg (110lb for you US-boys) at it's nose and acceleration and top speed sucked. Motor got hot, 70°C (158°F) after about 3 minutes of runtime. Geared for 38mph (calculated with LiPos at 4.2V x 2S). This motor is allegedly able to push an RC8Be arround. To put this in to comparison: I put my Slash 4x4 on the track later that day. The eledged non-competitive toy truck. With springs that didn't really work with that shock setup, with positive(!) camber and toe-in way off in the front, because I forgot to reset them. It would have wiped the floor with the SCRT10 today. On an, admitedly somewhat slippery, carpet track! It turned like a tank, flew straight and was super controlable. In short, everything I expected. From the SCRT10. Man am I pi**ed! Sorry for that rant guys, guess I needed to get that off my chest. |
have you got the shells muddled up? ;)
Sorry... cant help with this one... was it just a random occurance? worked fine before? hmm... can you try the motor/esc in something else? |
How would I know if "it" (whatever "it" is in this case) was just random or if "it" worked fine before?
As I said, I ran the truck for the first time. There was no before. And the motor issue is the least of my worries right now. |
With some trial and error and a bit of help from the guys at RCSC I finally got my SCRT10 ready to go.
This thing out turns my SC10 now, is fast as hell, super stable, haven't been able to tracktion roll it even once. Even if I try my best to upset the car it may start a little drift (very easy to control) but that's it. After end over end tumbling or cartwheel crashes it nearly always get's back on it's wheels, only once today that it landed on it's roof and stayed there. This is what I hoped for form the start. Still need to get softer springs for the rear shocks and adjust droop after that. But other than that, only a few quirks left in the ESC setup, but that's not the cars fault. Also took a few snap shots of the SCRT10 with body on at the track today: http://r1hgaw.blu.livefilestore.com/...Cq/scrt101.jpg http://r1hgaw.blu.livefilestore.com/...I5/scrt102.jpg http://r1hgaw.blu.livefilestore.com/...zH/scrt103.jpg The Body is a bit wide, especially in the rear, but that's always a problem with the SCRT10 since it just is that bit more narrow. |
