Damn sexy truck ya got there, wish I had that much cash to drop on a RC, I mean a baja is expensive but I can't convince myself to pay 400$ plus for a chassis, regardless it looks awesome!--Josh

nitrostarter 05.19.2010 01:22 PM

Looks good except for 2 things... 1. KD motor? 2. Where the polish on all that ALU?

Chadworkz 05.19.2010 01:24 PM

Thanks man!

KD Motor is just there because it's wrapped in a chrome decal and looks cool, heh...I will be running a Tekin RX8 ESC & Tekin T8 2250kV Truggy Motor.

As for all the aluminum not being polished...I am trying to convince my friend Steve, who is crazy about detailing and polishing "his" stuff to polish "my" stuff, heh! I hate polishing, too much work!

Popoxx 05.19.2010 03:17 PM

Love it ! :surprised:

And this car isn't a shelf queen ? Nice

Chadworkz 05.19.2010 03:53 PM

Shelf-Queen? Lord no!

Nard Cox 05.20.2010 06:50 PM

Awesome looks!!

But the shocks seem rather small no ?

SV6000 05.20.2010 09:23 PM

Needs a bigger motor:lol::lol:

Only kidding looks good mate:party:

FG101C 05.20.2010 10:18 PM

That thing is wicked badass, IMHO. Any chance you would trade for a 8-B, 8-T, Slash 2wd, Slash 4wd and a Baja 5B 2.0??

Really nice truck.

Sorry man, I could never get rid of this SM...and to be honest, the prices of the vehicles above is about half of what it would take to buy this SM "IF" I were to ever get rid of it.

Are there alot of guys out there running this combo in their MT's?

The Tekin combo was one I was considering for my rebuild. I have been using a Tekin esc in my crawler and like the programming alot.

Truck looks great. The aluminum wheels really bring it out too.

Chadworkz 05.24.2010 10:45 PM

Thanks Shocker!

Yea, the Tekin RX8 ESC & Tekin T8-Truggy Motor combos are excellent for truggies and monster trucks! Just remember that Tekin makes two different motor types, buggy and truggy, both in many different kVs. If you have a truggy or monster truck, make sure and get the truggy version of the T8 motor.

Edit: The wheels are UE Supermaxx wheels as well!

Its very nice. My favorite parts are the set back RacerX and single shock front Hi-Impact lower arms, the strobe sprong, the strobe limiters, and the FLM Tranny+Gmaxx single speed kit= best true Maxx tranny.

The aluminum wheels are great and I'm sure they improve response but, they are MT and 14mm. I'm surprised you don't have VTRs mounted up. I remember when you first told me about them in my thread, back then I hated truggy style wheels. Remember? We were talking about mushy Badlands. I've moved to like truggy wheels after my first real race and after somebody gave me some LRPs bowties and wheels.

We need a video when you get the new BL system.

Whats the wheel base?

-Zack

Don't forget the uber-rare & uber-awesome Ultramaxxed/OTB gears inside the transmission!

This is a full-blown Unlimited Engineering Supermaxx, so I am running any and all UE/SM parts, and parts made especially or specifically for SMs, like the Strobe stuff, GA stuff, HCR stuff, Dace stuff, DD stuff, GM stuff, etc....LPR or VTR truggy wheels &tires just wouldn't fit the style or design I have/want for the truck. And yes, I will eventually get a VBS for it! ;)

Exactly 14.5" with 2° of toe-out in the front & 3° of toe-in in the rear. If both ends were set to 0° of toe, it would probably be about 14.75" or so.

Chadworkz,
if you have seen my builds you know i have an appreciation for the clean setup and gorgeous builds and this is one of them for sure. its builds like yours that inspire me. it gives me a goal of something to strive for when building my own custom rc projects. great work man!!

Chadworkz 06.03.2010 04:30 AM

Thanks Ryu, I really appreciate it! Basically the only thing left is to add to it is VBS. Then it's time to build a full-blown Lightning Supermaxx! And I am already in the process of building another Thunder-based nitro Supermaxx!

The Dude 06.03.2010 06:39 AM

:oh::oh:

very nice build man !!! A build like yours always amaze me :intello::great:

I am trying really hard to get a friend of mine who is very detail-oriented to polish everything for me...his attention to detail is just insane, and his results/finished parts are nothing short of absolute and pure perfection!
