Pics of my FLM Savage Flux XL...Short Course.

Few pics, setup is 2 x 3s Turnigy 5000mah 35c LiPo's, MMM, HiTec 7955TG steering servo, "Bulletproof Diffs" and Castle/NEU 1520 1600kv.

Like the body?

swiftneed 05.30.2010 12:05 AM

Wow nice build hope you bulletproof your diffs with those tires but awesome nice build

FG101C 05.30.2010 12:11 AM

Thank you, yea the bulletproofs came with it. Thinking about the FLM shock towers and LST shocks but am going to wait and see how the stock shocks hold up.

this one is nice. more body on shots would be great. would like to see how it fits on there with respect to the tires (width). which body is that one?

onetoo3 06.06.2010 06:34 PM

is it a slash body

suicideneil 06.06.2010 10:23 PM

Should be a pretty potent setup. Funny though, I asked about putting SC bodies on MTs a while back, they dont look too bad really but I decided against it in the end- personal taste really, but if it fits alright & clearance isnt an issue... happy days :mdr:

FG101C 06.06.2010 11:30 PM

That body is the JConcepts Dare for the Slash. Put it on cause it was sitting collecting dust and thought it didn't look too bad. I also test fitted a friends JConcepts Bajr body and it looks pretty cool too.

I actually got to run this beast today, found the sweetest bash spot, will be able to run my Baja there too. Still pumped up from running it, was great. What I need now are two more 3s packs so I could have run it again before it got dark.

Body was good, no issues, truck ran flawlessly. The Castle/NEU 1520's are beasts. All I can think about is running it again, got at least 30 minutes and was grinnin the whole time, my face hurts.

looks great!!! nice setup too... i have a SC body on mine aswell... Makes the savage look meaner imo due to the wider body

Chadworkz 06.07.2010 06:16 PM

Looks great, but to be a short-course truck, you need a body that covers the tires...like a Baja 5T body, but at $150 just for the body, the $24 Slash body looks perfect!

JThiessen 06.07.2010 09:03 PM

More pics of that body on the truck! I like what I'm seeing so far!

FG101C 06.08.2010 01:14 AM

Some more body on pics.

FG101C 06.08.2010 01:16 AM

One next to the Ten-T.

Chadworkz 06.08.2010 02:12 AM

[1] Man, that body is awesome looking, I really like it...I might have to get one for the Revo!

[2] Wow, even though the Slash body is 1/10 scale, it absolutely dwarfs the Ten-T, which is also 1/10 scale, and it wouldn't fit the Ten-T to make an SC truck at all, the Slash body is just way too big! It's no wonder the Slash is damn near the same size as the 1/8 scale SC trucks like the Associated SC8!

Jahay 06.08.2010 01:00 PM

im using a slash body on my savage and it is just the perfect size and my wheel base is 18"!!

Chadworkz 06.08.2010 11:41 PM

Yea, I didn't realize just how big the Slash was until I saw one in person!

Stock shocks are great, I only changed up to metal caps.

onetoo3 06.15.2010 06:36 PM

what servo do you have for steering? I'm looking at HPI SF-50 but do i need all that torque..Big Joe 40

FG101C 06.15.2010 10:00 PM

I'm using a HiTec 7955tg. By the way these trucks are just badass, four packs through it now and nothing but smiles, stock shocks fine not even one leak.

Don't know the rating of that servo, but I would use all the torque you can get with Big Joes (very heavy).

I use a HiTech 7955 (333oz/in) and it'll hold any tires I put on straight and will turn in place on rough concrete no problem.

krashkrieg Got a part#, the 7955 looks the same as hpi sf-50 333oz on 6v and cost less.....

onetoo3,

they are the hellfire AL caps these are the ones they sell, no specific ones for savage (only purple) The caps and rear hub carriers are the only things I changed to AL (and FLM XL chassis) anything else that's ever broke (few pcs) was due to a ridiculous crash. This truck is tough as a brick s*** house.

I looked and couldn't find US torque info only kg/cm and don't know how to translate to in/oz
If you did and it's close I'd say go for it!
