I have been looking at these for my CRT .5, but I want to have a 6.5-7.5T for running 3S. Maybe they will release lower kv winds eventually? I don't think the stator and sensor board is user replaceable though, so that kind of makes me lean towards the Ballistic 550.

magman 06.18.2010 09:41 PM

Cool...I was looking for another motor for my daughter's crt.5

Semi Pro 06.18.2010 09:55 PM

how about some motors around 2000kv?

TekinTeamMgr 08.11.2010 11:00 PM

What's the application for?

sikeston34m 08.11.2010 11:05 PM

Are these motors 2 pole or 4 pole?

snellemin 08.12.2010 12:17 PM

Roar 2 polers.

MAS 08.13.2010 12:49 AM

so...what's the updated availability of these motors? Not very much summer left!

TekinTeamMgr 08.13.2010 12:38 PM

Soon, next few weeks.

We like to run high voltage and lower kv. So a 2000kv motor would be great for a light 4s lipo in these SC trucks.

TekinTeamMgr 08.16.2010 03:19 PM

The demand for this type of wind would have to justify us making it.

mid-July, to end of July, to beginning of August, to mid-August, to end of August, to early Sept...now Tower is saying mid-Sept. - Yikes!

TekinTeamMgr 09.04.2010 06:30 PM

They shoud be shipping out of the normal channels first 1/3 of September. Understand we have NO control over what Tower or anyone elses posts for a "date."

Winter season around here means indoor racing season (we have enough sense to come in out of the snow ), so if they ship soon, it will be in time for racing next month.

We're now 1/3 through September. Anybody get a SC4X? Anybody get a shipping notification? Heck, I can't even find mention of this motor on the Team Tekin web site anymore!

What happened???

TekinTeamMgr 09.13.2010 01:34 PM

I had one at the 2010 International Indoor Champs in Vegas this week...

So, what does this mean? Shipping now? OR what? If it's not soon, I will have to cancel my pre-order and buy Novak!

It's kinda hard for Tekin to delight customers or make any money when the announced product isn't in the market a full 3 months after the initial release date. And no, the Team Manager doesn't count as a customer!

Most folks, me included, have had a very positive experience with Tekin products, service and online communites and have a favorable perception. This SC4X debacle, theatens to change that.

Announce a date, and stick to it. Simple as that.

marksp 09.17.2010 06:15 PM

For the record, Tower just pushed out (again) to "Late September"

Losi LST2 09.17.2010 08:55 PM

i pre-ordered one over a month ago thinking i would have it by now since tower said "early september"

now our racing season ends in less then 2 weeks, i have no motor, and the date got pushed back again.

True, True...we have been waiting quite awhile for these to come out though.

magman 09.22.2010 07:50 PM

The first post in this thread did say Mid July for availability...so 3 months later w/no motors yet, I can understand why some people are getting a little upset

No real justification for "getting upset" no matter how late they are. To paraphrase the race director at the club where I race: "Who here is unable to feed their family because the Tekin SC motors are not yet released?"

Ty and Randy Pike are the only ones coming close to that scenario and they are not complaining (at least not publicly).

Get real guys - we are playing with toys. No matter how serious you are about them, they are still toys (ultimately unnecessary to you and your family's survival on this earth).

It did not say what year, however. LOL. Oh well, no biggie here. It has been many, many years since I gave Tekin any of my money....guess it will be a few more.... just canceled my pre-order.

I totally agree with all of your points. I was just merely pointing out the fact that some people had probably planned on using these motors for this race season and were looking forward to it. After anticipating the release and having it be pushed back several times...to some that is frustrating.

I am also waiting for the release of these...since I am in not in a hurry, no bother to me if they are delayed. I have many other trucks to play with

TekinTeamMgr 09.23.2010 12:12 PM

Sorry for the delay guys. It's been far longer than we anticipated. They're in final assembly and packaging now. Should see them hitting stores in the next 10 days at the latest.

Once out for distribution it takes a few days for distributors to get 'em out.

Semi Pro 09.24.2010 12:34 AM

well i for one am waiting for the motor, yes it would of been nice to have it this year but its just a toy, im still going to buy one even if it takes till next season

on a side note TeamMgr

is the RS Pro going to handle these on 2cell lipo without problems?

TekinTeamMgr 09.24.2010 02:27 PM

The RS Pro can run the motors just fine. I will reccomend a 2nd power cap if you plan on racing it on large track. Also making sure that the sec can get some cool air will help keep it running cool.

Overall the Rx8 is the better choice, but the Pro does work just fine.
