Could we possibly get RC-Monster shirts?
As the title says, I would love to have an RC-Monster T-shirt. So my question is would there be any other people interested? Mike, would you have any interest in doing this?
I thought about making one with the iron-on sheets that you can print from the computer, but a) I think a professionally screen-printed one would look much better and last longer, and b) I wouldn't want to use the RCM name or logo without permission from Mike. So what do you guys think? |
I'm in if the Monster sells them!
|
These were the last ones I made for the forum...

I'm at about 230 pounds. Anybody have any clue about the sizing? Some xxl's are tight on me some fit right. Any big boys have this shirt?
|
XXL i think should be ok i was at XL at an undisclosed weight

I would love to have a couple RCMonster shirts but a XXL would look like a sausage skin on me ? I'm a little rounder than most
|
I would buy one with the cyclops on it.
Or, one like the stickers. Either way it has to include the "Can't brush this!" slogan! Maybe a photoshop contest, best art gets to put their art on the RCM shirt. That would be awesome, since I know there are plenty of computer art savvy folks here based on their avatars! |
We have had a shirt system set up for several years, actually. We first made them when we had our 1st Brushless bash(about 5 years ago). We just made the design and sold them through a 3rd party - the shirts aren't what I would call inexpensive, but they are decent shirts(I have some that are several years old that I wear daily for working and/or racing - I am actually wearing one right now!). I wear the Polo shirts when I do RCX and IHobby shows. :)
I have looked into actually carrying T-shirts in house - I could probably do much better on pricing with some volume, but I haven't really "gone after it". :) http://www.cafepress.com/rc-monster |
The sweatshirts are nice, too.
|
Uh-oh! Harold and Linc are going to have a grand old time with the boxers...
|
I really like the polo shirt with the smaller logo on the back
|
Mike, I assume you receive compensation from this company for the tshirt sales? If not, I'll wait for you to get them in the store.
|
Glad to see I can get my shirt! Probably going to pick out a T-shirt and maybe a polo or sweatshirt too.
Maybe Mike or one of the mods could sticky a link to the Cafe Press site onto the forums? I know I would have made a purchase long ago had I known about it. I do like the idea of a design contest, if the Cafe Press account is already set up I can't imagine it being that much work to add a few more designs there. I would love to have a shirt featuring the Slipperential! nitrostarter: I looked on the Cafe Press website, it says the seller gets 10% commission on each sale. |

A shirt with a techy pencil and ink style exploded diagram of the slipperential would be sweet. Would also help when you to rebuild it, you can just look down to see wtf you were supposed to doing :)
Examples of what I mean are attached. See the original artist and other cool stuff here: http://www.idsketching.com/sketchboo...um=1&gallery=9 You could add in the CD motor mount, a pinion and a Neu maybe too all flying together if it didn't get too crowded Unfortunately I don't have the skill to do what I want. "Can't Wash This!" or maybe, Don't forget Bondo either ;) LOL |
@ Finn,
The Boxers would have a picture of your face on the backside with a drop down flap were the mouth is. Since your always talkin' SHIZ |

No no Sry guys, i keed i keed bc I love.
Nannyway, back to topic... [must... stayyy... on .. topic...] Does anyone have any art skills? I was looking up sketch artist's drawing prices out of curiosity. Not too bad for what I want, but would have to make a decent # of shirts to spread the cost out (~$100) |
|
I think some cafepress accounts may make money, but it was set up by a friend several years ago - I don't make anything on the shirt sales. I think we could have set the prices to make money if we wanted, but I thought the prices were already on the high side(quality is pretty good, though).
That said, I would like to get some decent shirts and I am certainly open to design ideas - I like the idea of the Slipperential on the shirt, too. T-shirts and hats would likely be the most popular and I should have room to stock these in my new place. :) |
New place? Sound great! Glad to see things going so well for you Mike! Any pics of the new place?
|
No pictures of the new place to post - I won't officially close on the new place until 8/13. I am moving across state lines into PA, so the new place costs about the same as my current place, but has a bit more space. I am excited, but overwhelmed at the same time(lots of stuff to move). :)
|
i hate shirts that are "busy" if there was a clean looking shirt of just even your avatar i would buy a few.

So do you have any exploded drawings of the slipperential in solidworks or anything? BTW, good luck on the move Mike |
I would really love to see a RC-Monster pit towel.
Monster size off course, so I could put my monster truck on it:party: Not one of those tiny pieces of cloth, other manufacturers offer, where you can hardly put a 1/12th pan car on to... |

I would agree here! We just got some for our local track and they really are a huge hit! Everyone asks for more of them.... |
Someone needs to come up with a good slogan (that Mike approves of) for the Slipperential that would go well with the exploded diagram on a T-shirt. I'm no good at that kind of thing though...
|
The RC-Monster Slipperential: often imitated, never beaten....
**oh snap** |
I need some replacements shirts. One thing I was never fond of was the white background around the picture on anything other than a white shirt. White shirts don't hold up well at the track. The slipperential wouldn't be bad to have on there, as long as the Monster was still there as well.
