"C" Can XL
Hello,
I just noticed something I'd not seen before in the store, a Feigao 540C XL - what is this? How does it compare to the regular Feigao 540 8XL type motors? I can see the "C" can motor has a heat sync, does it also screw together? I popped two Feigao "L" series motors and since getting the RC Monster Heat Sync/can holder I'm all set. How does the 540C XL compare with some of the BK XL motors? Funny, when there was one choice I actually understood all this now I'm confused. Thanks, |
I think the C stands for car. These motors do have the heatsink can (which is nice), and the rear enbell screws on, and is held in place (to keep it from unscrewing) by a set screw. The 380C motors have removable front and rear endbells.
The 540C motors should perform just like 540 motors. |
So is the XL like an XL Feigao? Is it monster truck big? Is it better in any way than the older ones?
The windings and the rotor should be exactly the same.

A week ago my new BK wanderer 12XL came in. here you can see a couple of pictures. On the pics you can see a comparison between a Feigao 7XL and the BK wanderer 12XL. The wanderer is bigger, has screws that prevent the endbell from popping off, 5,5 standard gold plugs with shrinkwrap, flat grinded shaft and has got better bearings than the Feigao 7XL.

That motor is VERY nice, im gonna get me a 540 C 9xl once my 10l goes:)
Jasper - Did you get that here from Mike? His listing for the BK XL motors doesn't show a picture like yours...
I want an XL, heatsync is a nice bonus, anti-can pop is essential. |
Mike stocks them 540 C xl's on his site. I bet mike will get a pic of it on his site, but he used the original black 9l just for representation.
I think the c cans may be a little better for better heat transistion between the can and heat sink. If made together it is better transfer than two seperate pieces.
The can and the heatsink on the C motors are the same thing.
Mac, I didn't get it from Mike. I bought it from www.bk-electronics.com

This style dissipates heat better than any heatsink that you could put onto the motor, as long as the materials are the same.
I wonder if the new wanderer's have segmented magnets now(doubtful for the price),there was talk of this a while ago.The new XLs are $160.
:002: I'm confused. Mike's got them labelled up as feigao motors, but jasper got his from bk. Plus the one in jasper's pic looks a completely different style to the one Mike's got up. I realise Mike's pic is of the L version as opposed to Jasper's XL, but shouldn't the two look similar? And shouldn't Mike's be labelled as bk rather than feigao?
They're different motors,Jasper's is the new BK wanderer, new and more expensive version of the blue wanderers listed in the store. The C XL motors in the store are Fiegaos not the new BKs,get it?
Ah, thanks gustav
I think that's right:032:
actually the ones in the store are feigao C B-class. the one jasper has is the equivilant to the feigao C A-class. the a class are a little different heatsink than the b. look at feigao.com
Ok, so what's best?
And sub question - does Mike have the "best" one or will he be getting it? |
Just went to the Feigao web site...that Class A looks very nice...when can we get them from RC Monster?
Yes i'm sure Mike could probably get you one, from the look of Jasper's motor, the Wanderer 20series (not the $90 ones)are now Feigao C A-class.
aww, i started a thread bout it already but no1 posts! :( no1 likes my threads....
that's not the point ncabz, you just hide them too good..
Aaah, this is good news :027: I bought a new/special motor. I thought I should get the normal wanderer with blue case and no heatsink.
The weird thing about it, is that the 20 serie, XL version cost 20 euro more. So the total price was 119 euro = 142,80 dollar. At that point I allready thought: why is it so expensive? But now I know :027: |
If you check out the feigao website they accually have two different versions of the same motor. I am not sure why they do this.
