Monster Mike's in RC Car Action!
Stopped by the LHS on Friday to pick up some Savage parts and saw on the magazine rack a special edition of RC Car Action on Electric and Brushless powa. Intrigued and with money burning a hole in my pocket, I picked up a copy and flipped through it later that night.
Was surprised to find a nice How to article later in the magazine written and staring none other then the Monster Mike himself! Awesome job man, good info in that article for brushless noobs like me! Check it out at your local magazine place and pick it up! http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Flux/mike1.jpg http://i100.photobucket.com/albums/m...Flux/mike3.jpg |
Gonna pick this up tomorrow on my way to work for sure man! Great to see mike really doin well promoting the best electric parts in the buisness!--Josh

Nice to see Mike get some more ink for all of his hard work.
|
What's the article on page 18 all about? It says on the cover "Traxxas 1/8th scale buggy".

It's the first time I see a pic of Monster Mike. He looks very clean. Somehow I always thought he'd be a little more grungy looking. Like with some machining lubricant smeared on his cheeks and nose and aluminum shavings in his hair. He really looks like a nice guy
|
Not that surprising since they have almost the same footprint. :)

The special edition does have some very cool articles in it, the 100mph HPI Vorza was particularly impressive.

looking at the picutres above...the shocks are so small compared to the real 1/8 buggies. It looks like it would be very light...anyone know which motor that is?

I think thats a 2650kv. Its a tad short on the can to be a 2200kv.

Is it the 3628 found on the current Stampede? I could use a little more space in the area around the receiver with my Slash4x4, so this would be a great help. |
That is it. Part #3628.
|
That receiver box set up is iffy. I ran it when I first put the MMM in the 4x4, I did not like that the servo wire was pushed up so close. If your not worried about keeping it waterproof, cough the MMM is not, than why worry about having the receiver hidden away in a waterproof container?

I agree here but this receiver box does provide a nice place to mount a receiver when using the MMM since it's footprint is much larger. |
Why do you automatically think I installed a MMM? A 550 motor alone could be long enough to give you problems in that area.
I don't need/want a waterproof container. But I want a container of some kind. If it is waterproof, what's the harm? Should keep the dust away as well... But I think this is going a bit off topic now. |
