Castle moving sale

Looks interesting enough.
Well it looks interesting enough to me. CC has come a long way over the last few years. Isn't it funny. We are in the middle of one of the worst economic times for the USA, and yet R/C seems to be growing in size. First Robin of UE (Unlimited Engineering) moved to a much larger and improved space. Then MonsterMike of RCM moved to a much larger space, and now CC is moving into a new facility which is said to be a much larger space. How is this possible when so many American companies are going belly up. So many places are closing their doors and throwing in the towel, and yet our favorite R/C places are doubling their square footage and comming out with all new and exciting products for us to play with. Way to go R/C.

This sale is on some of the motors that we have brought into stock, but haven't pushed a lot on the sales.
For example -- we have several hundred 1717s, 1518 and 1520 motors -- because they are not part of a "standard" combo, and they don't go through distribution, we don't sell a lot of these. We are trying to reduce our inventory on these motors -- so we are going to "blow them out" at great prices. Watch the website for more info -- coming soon. Patrick |
Cool, 1/8 beasts. Might get a 1717. :)
|
Sounds awesome! My credit card and paypal accounts are standing by. I hope we are talking about Black Friday prices or better!!!
Btw: Can we at the Monster get first dibs? Maybe like a 6-hour pre-sale window?? |
Subscribed... But would make a suggestion to Patrick...
Just a thought but how about offering Mike some very very good prices first - Seems a shame to "undercut" the Monster and potentially cannibalize the Monsters sales... I'd hate to put the forum at risk... |
+1 to arct1k,
but i'm watching :) after a 1717 for my new truggy :) |
Need to start selling the MMM bundled with the larger motors, aim them at the big-boys as a drop-in power conversion kit and such; 1518 is a great motor for a savy XXL , 1717 for overweight LST2 conversions...
|
Subscribed, Always looking for a deal on Castle Stuff
|
How do you subscribe to this? i would love a 1518 for my truggy:party:

I understand the 1520 motor is rated to 60,000 rpm. I also understand, that even though it is rated to withstand those rpms it is ideal not to run near its limit. So obviously the motor would prefer 8s as the motor will be rotating at 47,360rpm which is well within the capabilities. I would also most likely run it on 8s most of the time. BUT I will occasionally want to run 9s (most probably just on tarmac for high speed runs) and according to the R/C Calculator, Rpms will be rated at 53,280rpm at 3.7V per cell.... At 4.2V per cell it will be 60,480 rpm.... I know this is right on the limit, but shouldnt these neu motors be able to manage this? I would most definitely have the punch control enabled and most likely use the new software with the traction control. Should this be ok for occasional 9s runs? I heard of people using 10s with the 1520 on occasion!!!!:surprised: (i wouldnt do this as its not really necessary) Plus i would not get the 8s ESC, i am going to wait for the 12s ESC... So the 12s ESC should easily be able to handle what ever i throw at it, rather that running on the limit all the time with the 8s esc... Also partrick.... Could you give us approximate pricing for the 8s and 12 esc when they release? THANKS Josh |
No sales yet? I have cash to spend!!
|
The 1518 and 1520 are really great motors with a huge ratio power handling/weight, I don't understand why Castle has not sold them in combos with the Mamba Monster.

So is this sale that was mentioned 2 weeks ago ever going to happen?

Ah, UPS are the culprits for high international shipping costs? That explains alot- I'd go with some form of recorded USPS international, even if postage takes slightly longer, or maybe some other carrier like TNT? or FEDEX- cant do any harm looking at rates and shipping times- 2 weeks is normal transit time for USPS 1st class and Im used to/ happy with that really ( so everyone else should be too  :rules: )...

I always choose for USPS International. Their own personal record from the US to me is 3 days, I'm very happy with them :) |
USPS priority mail international rocks. :yipi:
