crazyjr 04.10.2006 08:06 PM

I'm sorry its on the discovery channel

Sylvester 04.10.2006 08:07 PM

Oh ok, im watching it right now! Even though its not on right now:p

crazyjr 04.10.2006 08:13 PM

it will at midnight

J Cates 04.10.2006 11:30 PM

since it was almost 90,000 dollars to build it, i think i will build two. LOL

coolhandcountry 04.11.2006 12:50 PM

Does it come with remote for 90,000?

boss 302 04.11.2006 01:44 PM

i dont think it does i missed seeing it though so i might be wrong.lol

Serum 04.11.2006 02:49 PM

LOL..

yeah a 27mhz AM...

BrianG 04.11.2006 02:52 PM

Anyone have any details on this? I missed it, but it would be nice to know more. Just curious...

Edit: Nevermind - found a link in another thread. :)

J Cates 04.11.2006 11:00 PM

They used a 2 speed powerglide tranny, and i think they put two huge electric motors and two BIG ESC's fed by 381 Miluakee power tool batts, "LITHIUM"!!!!!!!! It smoked the tires a good way down the 1/4 mile track.

J Cates 04.11.2006 11:01 PM

It was not radio controlled Jesse james drove it.

dabid 04.11.2006 11:07 PM

The rc thing was a joke, Jesse hates rc crap anyway.

J Cates 04.11.2006 11:25 PM

Rc Crap?????????

boss 302 04.12.2006 05:00 AM

RC is not crap

coolhandcountry 04.12.2006 05:28 AM

Yeah it was a joke. I imagine the torque was awesome.

boss 302 04.12.2006 01:17 PM

it had 880 horsepower i think.

dabid 04.12.2006 01:33 PM

MetalMan was the one that threw the 800 horse thing out there, their's was quoted at being able to make 500 or so.

As for the rc crap thing, it's the same as calling it junk or stuff, not actually meaning it's junk or crap......double meaning thing. Maybe Californians do it a bit more than others......

stampy 04.12.2006 01:54 PM

i like how they were talking like thats pretty fast for running on tool batteries. well if you think if it those tool batteries are what made it so fast light weight and loads of voltage. if you went with a normal car battery it would of weighed 3 or 4 times as much to get the same voltage if you even could of got that many car batts in there to get the voltage they were running. and if they went with a tranny with more gears they would of ran alot faster.

coolhandcountry 04.12.2006 05:38 PM

If they could have got traction could have went faster. That is not a light car. 14 sec quarter is not accually slacking. Especially for a 62 impala.

True, but also on the Discovery channel there was a program called Sucking Amps where they converted a mailtruck into a electric dragracerand only got 16's in the quarter, so Jessie has one-upped an official record, not sure if his was concidered a legal attempt

dabid 04.15.2006 12:21 AM

They said it was a new record, not sure if that means it was a record at that track, or like Guinness kinda thing.

crazyjr 04.17.2006 10:43 PM

On sucking Amps it was a record for a street driven vehicle, I think

J Cates 04.18.2006 01:29 AM

They most likely set a record with most watched show by RC Junkies.

dabid 04.19.2006 02:05 AM

I dunno, full size cars are still pretty darn cool burning up dinosaur-juice, it was weird when they backed the '62 Impala off the lift and it was totally silent!

coolhandcountry 04.19.2006 07:34 AM

I sure wish I had seen it. I wonder if they re show it. Does any one know?

crazyjr 04.19.2006 11:50 AM

If i see it i'll let you know

dabid 04.21.2006 02:32 AM

I was looking around on their site, couldn't find out when they're going to re-air it though.
