thanks to any one who finds one for me....pm me and we'll discuss the price.....also a pic would be nice...

squeeforever 04.11.2006 04:10 PM

wow...i have never seen something like that happen to a ue part. thats really unusual. what did you hit? looks like it got ran over by a car or something...i would check ebay.

sjcrss 04.11.2006 04:15 PM

the only thing I can think of that i hit...might of been part of a drain grate in a open parking lot I was running in....... other than that I'm not sure.......I've looked at ebay...and have found whole suspensions..and I only need 1 arm......so I was hoping that someone on here that has done a G2R conversion ...and had an A-arm laying around ....could possibly help me out......

sjcrss 04.11.2006 06:02 PM

anyone have any luck yet....just asking?

Mike.L 04.11.2006 06:59 PM

befor you spend your money buying one have you tryed bending that sucker back in its place?

there are some ways your can straighten it out.
but if your interested in purchasing a new one then do so.

sjcrss 04.11.2006 07:04 PM

I really havn't given it a thought...but I'm not sure it can be.....any ideas ?..

coolhandcountry 04.11.2006 07:16 PM

Did you contact mike? He may be able to get one for you. I think I saw your post on the ue forum. I am suprised that more stuff is not damaged.

Mike.L 04.11.2006 07:20 PM

scince its already bent then what do you have to loose. LOL
sj take some time find something flat that would slip into the part where it's bent and start lightly hitting it with a hammer, then a bit more force until it goes back. use a hammer with a rubbery end or normal hammer.

Try it befor you ask anyone for a new spare part.

sjcrss 04.11.2006 07:21 PM

so was I....the bulkhead on that side was fine....and that was the only damage....go figure.......I guess i must of hit it just right.......what's your sig on the UE forum?

coolhandcountry 04.11.2006 07:34 PM

Not a member on the ue. I was just checking it out. Another member pointed me to it. I am only a member here. I liked it here so didn't go else where. ;)

sjcrss 04.11.2006 07:41 PM

I'll give it a try in a few minutes....

Sylvester 04.11.2006 07:45 PM

Banging it wont make it turn out to "straight" :P

sjcrss 04.11.2006 07:59 PM

probably true.....

sjcrss 04.11.2006 09:08 PM

well , I have some good news.....after heating the arm in the oven @ 350 Degrees... for about 30 min, I was able to straighten the arm out... to the point of where it's barely noticeable.....which is good.....so now I'm back in business.....for now......But now I'm on the lookout for a 2 front arms as a backup or wait for UE high Impact arms to come out again....thanks for the suggestion Mike L....

Sneeck 04.11.2006 11:28 PM

No way you'll get that puppy straight. The hinge pin hole's will not line up anymore, nomatter how hard you pound it with a hammer.

Pretty sure Mike can get you a new one.

Be warned heat treating alum is a really bad thing. The arm become's brittle and will bend easier. Do the hinge pin hole's line up too?

sjcrss 04.12.2006 05:18 AM

I know heat treating aluminum is bad....but it's only a temp fix.....untill I can get 2 new ones or the high impact ones come out.....here is a pic of it after I fixed it.....

maxxdude1234 04.12.2006 05:35 AM

You can still notice its just bent, and as sneeck said it won't have the original strength it had. The new ue arms look quite interesting, personally I would wait for those.

sjcrss 04.12.2006 06:33 AM

Hopefully this can get me by till they become available again....if they ever do.

Mike.L 04.12.2006 04:24 PM

No Problem sj but still you can temporarly drive your truck until the new ones come in.
even though that wont have the matched strength as a new one but can be still used for now.;)
:)

sjcrss 04.12.2006 04:56 PM

I'll just take it easy on it for now.....I'll just have to wait for the high impact ones to be available again...or just get the racer x lower arms.....boy do i hate decisions......
