FYI Lee - the ESC links on the 20mm motors don't work - the directory path wasn't changed to products...

Don't worry...a month or so I bought a back up 1520 for my truggy. Even with towers discount codes it was still $ 190- shipped. I just could not pass up the price on the 1520 so I bought another..I almost bought 5-6 1520 to resell later.

Funny you should mention the 9XL your buddy has. I did a buggy conversion for my friend and it also has a 9XL in it. As well I bought the 1518 for his car as well. His B-Day is in 2 weeks, perfect timing

redshift 09.24.2010 08:11 PM

Unbelievable prices, yes it is time to bid the Feigao AKA HeatPump farewell!

I just might make him pay full price tho, after he sees me trying it out in my ride....

golfito 09.24.2010 10:27 PM

Hi, I recommend putting in a truggy:
1520 or 1518. It is used to run and run with 5s.
You can use PayPal to buy them and send them to a friend who is in Hollywood. When my friend arrives to my country gives it me.
Greetings.

JoFreak 09.24.2010 10:56 PM

Wow,
not that I need any new 1/8th motors right now, but I just couldn't pass on that deal.
1512 1800kV, 1520 1600kV and 1717 1580kV, come to daddy:lol:

VooDooCC 09.25.2010 11:32 AM

How long does everyone think this will last? My dilemma is that I'm going to be picking up either a buggy or truggy, depends on how much I sell everything for.
I don't race, just bash.
I'm mainly debating between the 1512 and 1518, some say the 1518 is too powerful, beings that I don't race, is there such thing as too powerful?
So, do I pick up a motor while the prices are good, hoping that it'll be the right one? or Wait until i get the next vehicle and pray that the prices are still low?

Sorry if this is the wrong place, I didn't know if it deserved it's own thread. Please move if needed.

Maybe I'm speculating, but IMO, this will last as long as the stock does.

"The motors are sold as is. That means no warranty. Not because we don't trust them, but because they came from limited runs and we simply don't have replacements here to offer for returned products."

This leads me to believe, these motors are being discontinued, at least for now. Perhaps every motor model in the sale, or perhaps only some. I don't know.

Can someone from Castle, please confirm or deny this?

rootar 09.25.2010 09:46 PM

dang this makes me want to buy a big motor, then that leads to buyin a big truck then thatll lead to spending bigs bucks on big truck and the big motor doesnt seem like such a good deal....

ZippyBasher 09.25.2010 10:42 PM

^^ Or stick a 1518/1520 in your RC8T! LOL

:lol:U think Castle would try to gangbang us????:gasp:

ANGRY-ALIEN 09.25.2010 11:26 PM

Why would you think that?

JERRY2KONE 09.26.2010 01:55 AM

Obvious

Seems obvious to me from his post that these are motors that did not make it into full production for one reason or another, and seem to have no future with CC. Hence no warrenty. CC obviously learned how to make them better and moved on with the motors currently in regular stock.

Kind of like buying a Delorian. No warrenty and no replacement parts, which means if you bought one you are stuck with it no matter what happens to it. Once it breaks it becomes a paperweight. For the price what can anyone expect? At those prices it is a throw away. Put it in, use it, and once it fries you toss it in the trash. Sounds simple to me.

Some of them are discontinued. The 15xx motors are just WAY overstocked...

And Another 1717

crusey_aus 10.06.2010 06:24 AM

Can anyone advise if the 1512 (1800kv) would be suitable for a Slash 4x4 running 3s lipos

Cheers

nitrostarter 10.06.2010 07:19 AM

Perfect motor on 3s, just gear it accordingly.

Bondonutz runs a 1800kv 1509 motor in his slash on 3s and he says it runs cool all the time with good power.
