New CC 2028 seems to be out.

"This motor can easily run in the 10 horsepower range." Quite a statement. This means that it can atleast produce 8000-10.000 watt?

Cody.McP 12.24.2010 04:17 PM

Yup, it's out. I wouldn't doubt their claims, it's heavy and BIG.

I posted more pictures in the Castle 5th scale thread.

Is it only possible to order it from the CC site at the moment? Would like to order somewhere faster..

Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't that identical to the Neu 2230? Same size and weight?

I will be ordering one tomorrow most likely, and run it on 6s til I can afford the Mamba XL. Will it run nicely on 6s? Or should I just wait til I get the Mamba XL? (Won't be that long.)

Cody.McP 12.24.2010 04:29 PM

I ordered from the CC site and through correspondence via E-Mail, got my motor and ESC today and it was shipped yesterday (which was the first batch of shipments I believe). I don't think anywhere else you buy from will be any faster, if you can even find another place right now.

Dj_Sparky 12.24.2010 04:51 PM

Ah, will just order from CC then. Will maybe get the ESC too. But could you tell me if the 2028 is identical to the 2230 or not?

Cody.McP 12.24.2010 04:57 PM

It's not. Is is redesigned by Castle for better Car use I think. I think it puts out the same amount of power as it seems to be VERY similar, just a different case for the most part I believe.

suicideneil 12.24.2010 05:30 PM

Castle uses the same labelling/ name system for their motors as Neu, so logic dictates that the castle 2028 is gonna be noticeably smaller than the 2230 I'd have thought:

2028 = 2.20" diameter & 4.4" long
2230 = 2.50" diameter & 4.7" long

Didnt take me long to find that info out by comparing the listed specs on the castle website of the neu & neucastle motors...

And both motors fit info my Baja5b Brushless conversion kit :)

That is nice. Will have to order one.

it'll pull way too much current on 6s in a 5b. maybe okay in a revo

10hp is 7460watts. There is no way you'll be able to put all that power to the ground. Tires would shred.

Was thinking of putting it in a GST 7.7 until I get a 5th scaler.

Arct1k 12.24.2010 09:54 PM

Highest spike I had was 7hp

What are you planning for a mount? Retrofitting a Baja mount or making your own?

coolhandcountry 12.25.2010 11:15 AM

That sure is a beastly look motor.

2028 in a Revo? RC Monster yes but surely not RC Lunatics?:lol: Or are you talking about the 1717. If you are talking about the 1717 then I have already had that in my Revo and other then it being a power house it's heavy and makes the Revo handle like a drunk on ice. A diff a day was the staple diet of the 1717 in my Revo. With the better diffs in the XXL there is a chance that they might hold but everything 1/8th behind this motor is living on borrowed time.:lol:
Running 1518 in my Revo now and couldn't be happier. Now I need to find a home for the 1717. Suggestions???? GST?

Whoops, sorry for derailing the thread. Back to topic. 2028.

lincpimp 12.25.2010 07:38 PM

1717 in a properly built lst works great, I think the xxl would be a perfect platform for that motor.
