My new Haas CNC mill!
Holy cow! Been a couple of crazy days for me but I just took delivery of a brand new Haas TM1-P machining center earlier today and I'm just so excited about it I just had to post some pictures. It's a tight fit as you can see and man is it big! It won't be hooked up until later next week, and then won't be fully running until even later after that but man does it look awesome just sitting there. I figured you guys might want to check it out. Watching them deliver this thing was pretty crazy, seeing a 4500 lb machine 4 feet up in the air is kind of an interesting sight to see. And I know my shop isn't pretty, but it'll get there in a couple of weeks, just had to wait to put other things in there till after the machine was shoehorned in. Anyways, here are the pics! Any questions just ask! :yipi:
Enjoy! http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/...120_123812.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/...120_124115.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/...120_130927.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/...120_130937.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/...120_134328.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/...120_134336.jpg http://i1176.photobucket.com/albums/...120_134344.jpg |

Wow...I think I just drooled on my keyboard a little...
|
Awesome!
Was this a purchase just for personal/hobby use? Or do you have a small business using the CNC machine? EDIT: Mind if I ask how much it cost? |

As for cost, it ended up being about 40k after options, delivery, and tax. :gasp: Luckily I am fortunate enough to be in a position to afford something like this, but I am definitely going to be broke until my business gets up and running in a month or two. |
Wow! VERY nice! :oh:
It's sooo clean!!!! Does it really weight #4500? That's #1000 more than my car! |

And it's clean now.. Soon it will be drenched with coolant and metal chips! |
soooooo beautiful...... You could make some sweet things in there!

Wanna be my new best buddy? :intello:
That's a really awesome piece of gear!!! |

i wish you the best on your new business. |
Thats a sweet deal for 40k :rules:
I learned with a Haas, they will always have a place in my heart <3 |
So many buttons. I like buttons. Buttons are cool. Can you post a vid of it working when it's all installed? So many buttons.

Sweet setup man! Good luck with your business as well. Cnc is a blast to use. Like watching a movie for me but at the end you get a shiny part.
|
Very nice....Haas is great. I have several of them in our facility....never a problem. VF3, SL20's...etc. What software did you end up with??
|
Wow, Soooooooo Jealous but happy for you also.
Look forward to seeing what you will be making. |

i just moved two cnc's last week for abuddy of mine who owns a motorcycle shop and makes harley cylinders and heads or speacialty parts for his drag bikes , it took 2 8000 lbs forklifts and a 25,000 lbs flatbed trailer to move them badboys ! one of'em is just under 10,000 lbs and the other is just over 12,000 lbs !

Cool new toy... I mean tool, yep definitely tool. J/K.
So I am not too knowledgeable of these things but what is the limit of what materials something like that can mill? Steel, aluminum, wood, plastic, concrete, etc??? Just curious! |
Thanks for all the kind words guys, it's all hooked up to power now, just need to set up the rest of my shop and get the technician in here to do the initial set up/inspection and this thing will be running!

Like I said, just curious, always wondered what the limits were.
Pretty cool though! |
I've got a couple chunks of concrete in my backyard. Could you mill them into some beautiful birds for me? Or how about some emaxx parts? JK. Very nice though. Good luck with your business venture.
|
We need an update Cody
Have you built anything with it yet? Anything RC related? P.S. I just ordered a 4 axis benchtop with my tax returns... not nearly as large and capable as your HAAS, but should make me some nice parts and work for a few projects I'm working on. |

What mill did you end up getting, a Taig? Or maybe Sherline? |
That's awesome dude!!...

http://www.townlabs.com/Files/CNC%20Machines.html Going to try to build a mini lathe attachment with it LOL. I've always heard it said that you can build a lathe from a mill :intello: |
