Superbowl 45

OK so the stage is set Steelers vs Packers. So who's going to take this one? It is 0830 Monday Morning here in Seoul, Korea and things are just getting started for us. The kids are off to school, and the wife is at work so I have the house, my lazyboy recliner, and the big screen all to myself for the game. There are plenty of Superbowl parties going on around the base and all over Korea for that matter, but since today is also my birthday I wanted to enjoy a nice quiet day at home watching the big game. So who are you guys routing for today?

George16 02.06.2011 07:32 PM

Happy birthday Jerry!!!!!!!!!

Neither one is my team but I'll be rooting for Pittsburgh.

KaztheMinotaur 02.06.2011 07:58 PM

Did Christina Agulara just screw up the words for the National Anthem?

brainanator 02.06.2011 08:07 PM

Thanks man. 52 today. I figure it will pop up on the site after midnight, as my birthday is 7/Feb. It is already Monday here in Korea.

WOW GB has already scored twice in just a few minutes. The Steelers better get their act together if they wish to make a show of this. I hate blow outs.

Yes, I thought I heard that.

JERRY2KONE 02.06.2011 08:20 PM

Great fun

Just thought I would share this. We have friends all over the globe and it amazes me how many Superbowl parties there are around the world right now. Not just Americans having parties, but restaraunts and clubs in foreign countries putting on Superbowl parties to help serve our military and Gov entities who can not be home right now. It makes us so proud how appreciated we are all over the world. I know not everyone likes us, but we have been well received most of the places we have been posted. God bless America.

I even received a note just in case we made it to Prague before today that there was a TGIF in downtown Prague that was having a Superbowl party. Pretty cool.

Yea I thought her rendition sounded awful. We were not at all impressed with her singing. Too much floaty personal crap if you ask me. Why can't people just sing it the way it is supposed to be sung?

KaztheMinotaur 02.06.2011 08:20 PM

I also wish people would just sing the National Anthem the way it was written and not "bastardize" it like most current pop stars do...

Bondonutz 02.06.2011 08:52 PM

Happy B-day Jerry, wish you many more.

Football, Meh.
If they dragged the ball around with RC's I'd watch ?

JERRY2KONE 02.06.2011 08:54 PM

Wow!!!

WOW Pitsburgh is getting their A$$es kicked. Interception after interception. Rothlesburger is making this way too easy for GB. I cannot believe how quickly this game is being played. And is it me or is this croud pretty quiet? Not enough emotion if you ask me. I hope Pit can come back and make a real game of this.

Thank you Bondo. 52 and still kicking. I am not a big NFL fan, but it is the biggest game celebrated in the world. Besides the Nascar season starts soon. The Daytona 500 is just around the corner. I hope I can keep up with it while in Prague.

OK well 21 - 10 at halftime. Kind of a slow start for Pit, but maybe we will see some realy NFL action after the halftime show. Wish we could be at the game. Serving overseas makes you appreciate what we have back home. FREEDOM is a real blessing.

MAYBE??? Only if you are stoned out of your mind watching a game replay and really have no idea what day it is. I guess then it would seem live to you.

I am sitting here quietly by myself eating my birthday cake sipping on some good hot tea as our housekeeper cleans the house:whistle:, while I watch the big game:yes:. What a life!!! My wife is at work trying to make all of our travel arrangements for next Saturday, and the kids are working hard in school:angel:. There is a God.:intello:

I plead the 5th on all accusations.

No, I'm just messing around. I'm actually watching National Geographic. My dad wasn't a big sports fan so I just followed in his footsteps. I stopped playing football after 9th grade.

Hopefully the kids behave after school and continue your easy day.

:party:HAPPY BIRTHDAY AGAIN JERRY:party:

JERRY2KONE 02.06.2011 10:02 PM

Iron fist.

I run our household with an iron fist. I served as a US Navy boot camp drill instructor for about 5 years so I treat our kids with respect, but everyone has responsibilities in our house and everything is run MY WAY. So any decension is met with hard nosed reasoning. They are coming around nicely.

We also watch a lot of Nat Geo, Discovery, and anything that has to do with how things are made, run, or created from R&D or constructed by man. Big, bigger, biggest, toughest fixes, big moves, How do they do that, or any other scientific or mechanical learning show. They are great for the kids, and I love seeing things on TV that I have already done in my life.

I rarely watch any NFL games during the regular season, but playoffs, and the Superbowl are always of some interest for me. Same goes for NBA or even NCAA basketball. But my first love in sports in coming up soon. The Daytona 500 is just around the corner.

JERRY2KONE 02.06.2011 10:27 PM

Terrible

WOW Pit had a good chance to overcome and blew it again with another turnover. Someone is a sleep at the wheel here. Do they not realize that this is the superbowl? Pit is playing like this is an exibition game. Terrible play. Too many easy mistakes being made.

So your wife is at work, there is a hot French Maid "cleaning the house" (if thats what we are calling it ) while you are eating cake and watching football? Thats the life right there! (but i could do without the football)

JERRY2KONE 02.06.2011 10:45 PM

Interesting

Well now the game just got a little bit more interesting after Pit scored a TD and then converted for two points making it a 3 point game. Nice move on their part, but can they really make it pay off, that is the question? Nice move by PIT. If they can fore-go the silly mistakes they may still pull this one out of their hats yet. Makes things just a little bit more exciting for the fans.

JERRY2KONE 02.06.2011 11:19 PM

Superbowl champs

GREENBAY SUPERBOWL CHAMPS.

Well it looks like the Packers overcame and forced Pit to fumble their way through this game. Kind of a disappointing showing from Pit. Game over.

OK well I guess I better get to packing the rest of my R/C toys for our move now. Have a great day everyone.

If it were anybody else we might be concerned, but she is already known to be a crazy woman who has bouts of mental failure. Even what she did sing was terrible. If that were an audition for American Idol she would not even have made it passed the first phase/week. Could you imagine Simon's reaction to that? He would have told her to find another profession for consideration, or maybe at the very least told her to get a singing coach and spend another year or two practicing for another audition. Just awful.

The half-time show was 100x worse. Black Eyed Peas? Really. Bring The Who back...

JERRY2KONE 02.07.2011 01:23 AM

Lame

Yea it was pretty lame wasn't it? And I thought I saw somewhere that there was going to be some kind of salute to Ronald Regan? What happened to that? I guess maybe it was cut from our telecast. The whole halftime show sucked, but we did not get to see any of the adverts over here either. The game was OK, but with how badly Pit played things it was hardly worth watching. It was like only one team showed up.

bruce750i 02.07.2011 12:21 PM

Could they have gave the half-time show any more hype?
I should of known when they were airing pre-game video of Jerry Jones and Wil.I.Am's photo shoot, that this was going to be another media disaster.
Midway though the first quarter they started spamming the Black Eyed Peas Halftime show. I was thinking. "Okay fine this should be some half-time show!" I was wrong the acoustics came across horrid!
OTOH I was wondering what kind of battery the lighted costumes were using?:mdr:
