My truck / one moretry
I think it did!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! A lot more work needs to be done on it...but it still is fun. Haven't totally got it complete and runnin yet. Still need screws that will fit the strobe. 4-40's DO NOT work, but i think i know which to use.....3mm's should. Also still need a ubec...
I can't see the pic cause it say I am not a member.
Same here, it doesnt work.

OK, try this... http://emaxx.livedigital.com/
It works now! Nice truck! Very neat wiring!
looks good, but here's a suggestion......you should switch the bl controller with the receiver.....this will cut down on wire length ect.....but overal it looks great....good.. job
Thanks guys. How do like the mod mount job that i used for the controller!!! Does my parrallel look right? it seems two neg wires will be going to one battery? is that correct? I still need a ubec though!
Also, the other question i have is, the wires that go into hte receiver. I'm not sure which ones the neg pos and so forth. i have orange, brown, and red think....so which way does the plug go into the reciever? Can you see it in the pics? Also, i pulled out the black jumper, do i need to do anything else to the controller?
your wires on the esc for the batteries looks correct....just make sure you have them like the following.....from the esc....black wire (-),(+)to(-),(+) red wire to esc......as for your other question....the brown wire should be in the rx the same way your servo wires are...ie...black wire on servo lead.....hope this helps....
i'll check it out. i won't need to pull any wires from the connector as i pulled the jumper out right?
correct.....
Hey thanks man. that was a great help. Now all i need is to get the ubec and i'm done!!!!! yyeeeeehawww!
here is a UBEC on ebay that several people have used.....and it's cheaper
http://cgi.ebay.com/3-Amp-UBEC-Board...QQcmdZViewItem I personally run a small RX pack...that powers my steering servo, shifter servo and a small fan above my ESC.....I've ran this for a few years...no problems to date.... |
Do you go on traxxas forums a lot? I used to until here!
I did along time ago. then I got fed up with the bs over there...and now I frequent here and UE.....
UE has one too? that might be worth checking out. I like the guys here though vs traxxas....much more helpful and much more willing to help!
PS, i bought that ubec....
Thanks, i'll check it out tonight!
the pics work here coolhand http://emaxx.livedigital.com/
I have one of them ubec's, seems to work nice, although the plug going to the reciever split into 2 when I tried to pull it out my rx (airtronics mx-3 combo reciever).
How did you do the ESC mount? I would like to do that to my Emaxx, I have a spare bodypost thingy but I don't recognise the other bit. |
Don't laugh..LOL, i used the front body mount, the other part came from my HV to cover the other hole from the stock motor. I cut a hole into it to insert the body part and used a criss cross servo saver and mounted with a screw from the other side...make sense?
But hey, it's light and durable!
I gotthe pics to work. It looks pretty good so far. I see you have your batteries done in a series and not parrelal.
Would you do me a favor and use the edit button neweuser. PLEASE!! |
For some reason i thought i had them in parralel? hmmmmm...are you sure? I'm probably wrong. But from the diagram in thread how to wire it up, the first is not correct of course, but i was shooting for parralel when i did it, bit if it's in series, i'm gonna leave. can you confirm? thanks, and yes...edit button, got it!
Well I can confirm it yes. Unless you have changed it sincethe pics. You have the red wire to one deans and the black wire to the other with a jumper wire inbetween. I don't think you would have been happy in parrellal form. It would run about half the speed. If you happy run it. :D
Nice mount, i've been putting off fitting my warrior to my emaxx till I can find a way to mount it nicely. I took your idea and modified it a bit - i'm now using an rc10 battery cup secured to the spare motor hole. Gives it lots of extra protection in roll overs and harsh impacts as well.
Btw I fit a new plug to my one of them UBEC's on ebay, works very nicely now, you wouldn't believe how light these things are. |
man...with all this talk about the UBEC's....makes me want to ditch my AA 1100 mah rec pack I made.....it doesn't weigh alot.......the only prob I have is the same batt that I use for the servo (ie the AA pack) i use to power my small fan above my Bl controller......and if I went to a UBEC...I'll have to wire that in some how to....I've tried wiring directly to my batts...and the fan doesn't last to long on 14.4 V...trust me......If I picked up a UBEC...I thought about wiring it inbetween the UBEC and the Rx........at the moment I have other pending items to pick up.....OH wellll...sorry to hijack your thread Neweuser...
If you not running a thrid channel could pug it there. If not could use a y connector for it to.
You could wire the fan to the UBEC output very easily.
I reckon it would be well worth you doing, AA's are a bit limiting on how much power they can put out in bursts, a 6v UBEC would probably make the steering slightly more responsive, and drop quite a bit of weight. |
no prob with the hijack....happens all the time! If you need help you need help. and sometimes throwing a line in instead of a whole new thread is easier.
